This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th St. & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of January, 1932, in accordance with request made by self, Mr. [3985], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by his brother Mr. [3190] and Mr. [287], an Official Representative of the Association.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [3985]. Now, as we find, while there are many disturbing factors and conditions in the physical forces of this body, and many of these have been of long standing, with the proper application, with persistence - and consistent in same, the body may be brought to a physical condition where a great deal physically AND mentally may be yet accomplished by the body.

2. These conditions are varied in the effects as disturb the body. As indicated, some have been of long standing, and hence have become in a manner a constitutional weakness in the physical functioning.

3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [3985] we are speaking of:

4. THE BLOOD SUPPLY shows for toxic forces in the system, produced by poor eliminations and improper functioning of fagged glands, and of nerve system - or systems. Hence some organs are involved in the condition, though very little may be termed purely that of organic disorder; rather a functional disorder, the condition so exaggerated as to disturb the organs in their functioning; as heart action, as digestive system, as the spleen in its activity to the whole body.

5. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM we find, then, the greater distress - or the seat of the greater distress, while effects are more exaggerated in other portions of the system. With an overtaxed nerve system, and especially specific centers involved, the incentives to functioning in various portions of the system became so over accentuated, and the attempts to alleviate such were directed at effects rather than causes, which brought about a collapse in the cerebrospinal’s coordinating with the sympathetic system. The centers specifically involved are those in the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th dorsal area. A form of lesion (lateral in nature) exists there. The effects have been of nerve exhaustion, improper digestion, heart’s action affected, and the organs of assimilation and elimination becoming involved. The body at first over-irritant, or easily disturbed in its mental equilibrium, making specific worries about conditions existent, and then the digestion going wrong, the glands of the system, improper functioning from this nerve exhaustion gave the disorders as we find existent in the body.

Then, to meet the needs of these conditions as we have given, it will be necessary for consistent and persistent action on the part of the body to bring about a better, or a near normal condition again. With various times we will find it necessary to change those properties as may be administered to the body for the correction of the conditions, as various portions of the body or the organs respond to those things that would be applied from without to act upon the systems within.

7. BEGIN with these:

First we would take small quantities of Atomidine, as a stimuli to the functioning of the glands of the system - three to five drops twice a day for five to ten days; then a period of rest, then after five days begin again, taking three drops of same in half a glass of water - with each dose that’s taken, for a period of fifteen to twenty days - see?

9. During this same period begin with those of the manipulations OSTEOPATHICALLY given, about twice each week. One of the treatments each week should be principally that of a general stimulation to the body to make it rest more, or a massage. The other treatment would be more an ADJUSTMENT. Do not attempt to make all the adjustments at ONCE along the cerebro-spinal system!

10. To bring rest or ease, use the Radio-Active Appliance once each day, preferably in the afternoon. This would be attached, the first anode to the right wrist - then to the left ankle. The next day attach first to the right ankle and left wrist. Each period would be for thirty to sixty minutes of such vibrations. Be sure that the appliance or battery portion is kept in a crock, not a metal container, with ice - or its equivalent - see?

11. Do this for at least twenty-six to thirty-six days, and then we would give the changes and the NECESSARY things for change.

12. In the matter of the diet, keep those things that will make for the better assimilations; that is, a tendency toward an alkalin diet.

13. Keep the eliminations through the alimentary canal as near normal as possible. When necessary an enema may be given for cleansing the colon, or removing of drosses. Well that this be done occasionally, when necessary. This had better be done through colonic irrigations.

15. (Q) Is a permanent cure possible? (A) If this is followed AS it is OUTLINED, consistently and persistently and making the changes as necessary to meet the various emergencies or conditions, as response is made here or there in the functioning system. This nervousness, this tendency of the body to become tensioned all over, tendency of inactivities of the body, the better MENTAL balance of the body will come about gradually. There may be expected periods when seemingly there will be accentuations, or specific conditions may seem to be accentuated and distresses arise - but patience and persistence, and CONSISTENCE. Because the body desires to eat too much - do not overeat! Do not allow the body to become morose, or sorry for itself!

16. (Q) Shall I continue my present occupation? (A) When CONDITIONS are bettered, this will be the natural thing for the body. See, the cramps at times come FROM the present occupation.

17. (Q) Will my financial situation improve? (A) As the abilities of the body are the better balanced, then these should improve also.

My Dear Mr. Cayce,

I received your ever Welcome letter while in Columbia, but I am now in Chicago, and I am seeing to my brother’s [3985]‘s welfare. You state in your letter that Mr. Salter makes up these batteries according to the suggestions thru the readings. I would like to know if he has this machine or Radio Active Appliance ready for my brother’s case? or, if not made up, how long will it take him to make it up, and what the price is. My brother is anxious to get started on his treatment, would be pleased to hear from you at once, my brother understands the reading, so please give this matter you personal attention. I seen Mr. Mohr just before I came to Chicago last week, and he is in good shape. We are very close friends, thats including you too, my wife and I are both here and send our best wishes to you and your family.

In reply to yours of the 26th, we had Mr. Salter to send out one of the Radio-Active Appliances for your brother. He no doubt gave you full instructions as to how this should be used. The bill was enclosed also, which I think was $12.50.

I feel quite confident that if he will use this as directed, and be very consistent and persistent, he will get the results. He need not expect to feel anything when this is first attached to his body, except possibly some inconvenience of being tied up - but it WILL produce the proper effects in the body, equalizing the circulation, enabling him to sleep better, giving him better control over his nerves, RESTING him when this fagged nervous feeling comes over him.

My dear Mr. Cayce,

I am here on a few days visit to see my people who live here. I find my brother [3985] is in poor health, and was telling him what wonderful results you have had in relieving the suffering of humanity, and expressed the great confidence I have in you, and what you may be able to do for him. His nervous condition does not permit him to write, so I am writing for him, and would like to know how soon you could give him a reading. I told my brother your charge is $25.00 which is agreeable to him, and appreciate an early reading as possible for him. His name is [3985], …, Chicago, Ill.
