Date: 7/15/1938 Sex: F Age: 75 ReadingID: 3024
This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of July, 1938, in accordance with request made by the daughter, Miss [338], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Mass. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes.
-
Conditions as we find are rather acute. As we find, if there is the ability through the administration of electrical vibratory forces to allay the inflammatory force, sufficient to prevent the inroads and pressure upon that portion of the vision and optic nerve, then we find that the operation may be delayed for a little strength to be gained by the body.
-
The administering of light wines and all the body will assimilate of beef juices, as we find would strengthen and allay much of the inflammatory forces.
-
But if there is the continuation of the inflammatory condition until the pressure and pain becomes unbearable, and necessitates the resorting to too great quantities of narcotics, then we find that the operative forces had better be attempted at the time indicated - or within the next two to three days.
-
But these will be very severe; will require much, much to be understood and comprehended by those about the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is Dr. Terry competent? (A) Dr. Terry is competent. But there have been some misapplications in that already done. Hence the need for the allaying by electrical vibrations, or quick X-Ray treatments. This would be along the lower portion, or those centers from which impulses are received, as well as directly to the back portion of the upper dorsal and through the cervical areas of the body.
-
(Q) Will her physical condition stand the operation? (A) As indicated, this will be a great strain, and will require a great deal of strength on the part of those about the body. We do not find this other than terminating in separation; unless strength can and would be gained.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 7/15/38 EC’s wire to [403]‘s daughter, [338]: “If inflammation may be sufficiently allayed by electrical vibrations or quick X-Ray treatments along centers from which impulses are received in upper dorsal and cervical then operation may be delayed to gain strength. Use light wines and all pure beef juice that body will assimilate. Sending air mail special.”
R2. 8/6/38 [403]‘s daughter, [338]‘s letter: ”…Many, many thanks for Mother’s reading. You may be sure it was a Godsend at the time, and your promptness in sending it was very much appreciated. I am happy to write that at present she is up and around - not that she should be up, but it is impossible to keep her in bed if she has any strength at all. I followed the advice in the reading to the letter, and the result was amazing. She didn’t reach the point where she had much pain, but was a very weak, sick woman.
“The eye doctor and heart doctor have since then talked it over and have come to the conclusion that she is not to have the other eye operation until fall. I think they realize now that she would not be able to stand it - and that is what the reading says. They are probably putting her off indefinitely without telling her the reason. She could be so much better if she would only be quiet and rest.
“We have a capable woman to do all the work and it is not necessary for her to do a thing, but for some reason we can’t do a thing with her until she will be very sick again…”
R3. 4/11/39 [403]‘s daughter, [338]‘s letter: “There has been a lot of illness in the family at home all winter - brother [1211] and my mother [403] - and neither are well yet.”
R4. 6/18/40 [403]‘s daughter, [338]‘s letter: “We have been through much sorrow since last summer at which time my mother broke her hip. Of course she is quite old and with a bad heart other complications set in. My brother [1211] has also been very ill… Mother is so far gone now that she may leave us any day.”
R5. 3/26/41 Daughter, [338]‘s letter: “Mother is still living - has just come through a severe attack of gall bladder trouble.”
R6. 10/31/43 Daughter [338]‘s letter: “Mother and [1211] are as well as could be expected but just hanging on, as the fellow said.”
R7. 5/11/44 Daughter, [338]‘s letter: “Mother and [1211] both invalids.”
R8. GD’s note: 4/1/49 We heard that [403]‘s daughter, Miss [338], had died. So far as we know, Mrs. [403] might have still been living at that time.

B2. 7/15/38 [403]‘s daughter [338]‘s wire: “Mother advised to have immediate operation on other eye to check blindness. She is in poor physical condition. The eye that was operated on several weeks ago is apparently worse lately. Please will you give her Check-Physical Reading? Find out if operation can be delayed and how long and if her physical condition will stand the operation and if Dr. Terry is competent. Will anxiously await reply as have only three days before she goes to hospital.”
