This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of November, 1940. tn accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [413], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [413].]

Time of Reading 10:45 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

  3. As we find, there are many changes in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here. So far as the structure portions are concerned, many are for improvement. Some, as related to the nervous reactions of the system, are not so well.

  4. For, as we find in the present, there are those disturbances in the eliminating system that tend to make for a neuritic reaction, - which is indicated through the nerves in the upper dorsal and throughout the cervical areas - these as related to the sympathetic and cerebrospinal conjunction.

  5. Hence there is not only caused an acute awareness of the movements of the body physically, but a stress to those reactions in the ability to swallow, to think, to hold the attention either in hearing, seeing, feeling or the like. [GD’s note: Afterwards Mrs. [413] remarked: “Absolutely correct; have been unable to concentrate on what anyone was saying, although hearing perfectly - just couldn’t keep my mind centered on it.”]

  6. First we would give that there be taken at least two or three rounds of the ENO SALTS. Take a HEAPING teaspoonful in a glass of water before the morning meal.

  7. Do this for five days, then leave off for three to five days; then begin again, and so on.

  8. Each evening when ready to retire, we would massage the body (not adjustments, not mechanical movements other than massage) from the base of the brain to about the middle portion of the back with Baume-Bengay. It will be rather hot, and for the first time or two rather severe. But first let the body be relaxed by hot water, you see; that is, towels wrung out of hot water, that would reach from the base of the brain to the middle of the spine. Then massage this in the body while still warm, though not damp, from the heat, see?

  9. And this as we find, WITH the eliminations, should relieve this distress through shoulders, neck, arms, and the upper portions of the body.

  10. It will require two to three days, but we find this will eliminate causes and stimulate activities from the system.

  11. Do not rub too hard, but sufficiently to cause the absorption of the cayenne, as well as the other properties in same.

  12. Ready for questions.

  13. (Q) Advise concerning teeth. (A) Local attention.

  14. (Q) Any further advice for the body? (A) Do these. Be consistent with it. While it will cause some disturbance the first time or two of application - that is, the heat, the Bengay, we find it will remove the disturbance.

  15. We are through for the present.
