This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of September, 1928, in accordance with request made by Mr. C. I. Bacon.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce.]

GC: You will tell us if they should set casing where they are not drilling, and answer the questions I shall ask you regarding same.
-
EC: Yes, we have the operations and the well here - this we have had before. Now, we find the operations have proceeded from the depth, as where the entrance first made to the lime. The casing should be set in the first blue-gray lime as will be encountered in or near the 3031 depth. Then drill in through the cap which will be indicated by the first blue-gray lime, changing to a black with flecks of white and red. Drill into the pay not OVER six feet, for this will enable the escape of the gas and oil that should be encountered at or near this depth, making then the 3037 in the full depth to production, which should be heavy gas with sufficient oil, as given, to pay for the operation. As has been outlined, this near the edge of the fold as lies in this district, and the well defined Surface Ridge is seen lying Northeast, Southwest, from this location. Coming, then, back to the upper edge of this section (18), we would find those sections lying in this direction - Northeast - Southwest - would cover the greater part of producing area in this township. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What kind of cap rock over pay? (A) That of lime as given, and the characteristics of the stratum as is seen - first the blue-gray, changing as the entrance is made to that of the black with flecks of white and red. These lying below the red beds of the district and above the waters which lie way beneath, see? Some of this territory should be VERY productive, this being the first outlet, but a portion of the fields adjacent have been destroyed through water conditions. Follow these instructions, setting the casing then after they have passed through that of the first heavy lime, then the soft strata, or setting the casing at 3031, drilling in near the 3037 to 3038 depth, see? We are through for the present.

R2. 9/11/28 EC’s letter to C. I. Bacon:
Mr. C. I. Bacon, Bastrop, La.
My dear Mr. Bacon:-
You are aware from the wire sent you that I was unable to get the information for you until yesterday afternoon. I’m in hopes the delay hasn’t caused you anxiety or worry. As indicated, they must have proceeded with the operations.
I’ll be very glad to cooperate with you in any way that I can to be of service or help. I don’t want, if it is possible, to be of a hindrance in any way or any sense of the word. I am sure you realize, Mr. Bacon, if you have studied any along the lines of the phenomena, that there must be a oneness of purpose before we may be able to obtain any understanding that may be applied, and in application of the understanding knowledge may be obtained; or in an incorrect purpose will make a mis-application of that given. This may possibly be noted more directly from the very fact that in practically all the information given many meanings may be obtained by different individuals, for it is appealing to their consciousness of purpose.
Be sure and let me hear from you whenever you have the opportunity. You understand that I am only able to give two readings in any one day, and we are having requests from people in all parts of the country, and usually we are several days, if not weeks, ahead of our appointments. Consequently the delay that is caused at times when requests are made, for we necessarily have to take them in the order they come. Everyone must be considered just the same.
With kindest personal regards, I am
Yours very truly, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
