This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of August, 1928, in accordance with request made by Mr. C. I. Bacon.

Township 21 North, Time of Reading Range 6 East, and well 4:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. in Sector 18 being drilled by the United Carbon Co., Morehouse Parish, La.

1. GC: You will tell us at what depth they may expect to find gas and oil, or just what the outcome of this may be. You will also give us the prospects for oil or gas in this district.

2. EC: We have Township 21, North - Range 5 East.

3. GC: Range 6 East.

4. EC: We find it Range 5 East - It’s not compatible here -

5. Now, in the well being drilled by the United Carbon Company, there are already the indications of what may be expected as the outcome from here; very strong flow of gas, with small quantity of oil, with sufficient of the oil to pay for expenses of the operations, though, when this is handled and cased here properly.

6. Now, as has been given in this district of Morehouse Parish there runs that fold through this district, crossing different sectors, that there may be expected large gas flows at a greater or less depth; for the conditions where water troubles in portions OF this district have forced the oil and gas in some to other places, or outlets. Hence a great variation may be expected; some being found to be of short duration in production, while others where they have located themselves - that is, the oil and gas, in more of the secure outlet - will be of longer production, especially of the gas. There may not be expected gas or oil in commercial or in large quantities below or beyond, to the westward, of the fault that occurs below and beyond this especial district in 21. While through this district where the fold occurs to the south and to the west, there may be expected along this ridge, which is only seen by a viewing of the fault, the LARGE production of oil in places, and large flows of gas in others; reaching, though, to the greater depths - or below even the sea level - in the district, see? These will be located here from that findings as are seen in the well being drilled by Carbon Company. Follow those lines. Follow those ridges as come through this district, northeast, southwest. We are through for the present.

My dear Mr. Bacon:-

Again it seems as if I have been delayed somewhat on your information, but I’ve been quite busy and this has been my first opportunity to get this in edgeways. I’m in hopes the information will be helpful and beneficial to you. Now I just want to say a word or two about this, Mr. Bacon: I believe my experience with information of this kind has been the most unsatisfactory of anything that I have ever undertaken. Whether this is the fault of the individual who asks for it, or who attempts to apply it, or their attitude towards it, or the information itself, I can’t say. I am doing this - that is, giving this information - rather against my own best judgement. A portion of it I am NOT including, and WILL NOT GIVE! That is, information to you concerning another well drilling that you have no interest in whatever, other than to know the outcome of those operations! That is INCORRECT information to attempt to gain through these sources. Now if you don’t care for this information, and don’t want to use it on that sort of a basis, as soon as you get this letter return it to me. I only want you to be as honest with me as you expect me to be with you, but I want you to be THAT honest - just as you would like to be done by, that do to and for me! Now we on this basis are trying to build up this work here. We need help and assistance, it’s true. People with the correct conception of what we are undertaking - people who are willing to sacrifice their own selves, their own lives, their own money, that others may better understand their relationship with their God - that’s the assistance we seek - none other! Men that are willing to join in, in that way and manner, we want to help. Men that are not willing, we don’t care to help.

We trust this will be helpful to you. It will be DETRIMENTAL if you do not apply it properly! Mind how you use it! Know what you are doing before you begin. If you don’t want to do right, act square and straight with everyone you come in contact with, you’d better not undertake to use it, because it’ll make you lose money!

In answer to your letter of Aug. 29th. Thank God that I can answer every question you ask and the demands. God is first and all his work is first with me. I will and have been working honest in every respect. God has helped me do the things I am doing because I have worked hard and honest in every way. God know I have had hardships one after another. But with his help I have put over deals here that I or any one else could not of done without his help. I will help you and your work in every way that is right that I know that God would have me do. You can trust me in every way. I do not want success for my own use. God knows I want to and will and am working in the right way. You will never have the chance to make me lose money. Because I am happy doing right and working also for him. If I can be one of yours and one of his doing things that will help to uplift mankind and build things that God wants and needs. I will be one of the happiest men in this world and I believe that is my mission in this world yet to do. I am enclosing you $25.00 check to help a little. I have only a few hundred in Bank. But I will soon be able to help after while. I enclose question I need to know about well in section 18- Township 21-6 East and I hope you can answer what question I have ask before that part you think I should have. I do not want to know about things I am not interested myself. But I believe I should know now all about Township 21-N-Range 6 East Morehouse Parish. Also about section in Township 21-5 East & Township 20-5 & 6 east.

Question about well being drilled by United Carbon Co. that I am interested in and well that I am on every day testing all formations and watching every minute.

We found small amount oil in Red Bed - 2947 took 3 ft. core 2953. Little oil have had some gas from some place below 2800 ft. Took core 2992 to 2994 hard corse yellow sand. 3” some oil. 8” white sand little oil, little more gas. Hard Lime Rock 3006 to 3012. 6 ft. then 3012 to 3015 sticky & tough Gyp. Took core 3017 to 3018 ft. 6”. Only got 6” on both which was 4” white sand tested with oil. The other 2” was hard rock took 30 minutes to cut last 2” inches. Well now 3018 ft. 6” by steel (?) tape measurement. Last 12 ft. hard drilling. Shall we set casing at 3018 6’ or shall we go through this rock? Advise where will we set casing. Question wanted as follows.

Question wanting answered. Well in section 18 Township 21-N-R6 east being drilled by United Carbon Co.

Shall we set casing where we are? If not where? What kind cap rock over pay? What kind formation will pay be found in? How deep shall we drill in pay? How large will well be?

Wire me when to set.

Please tell me section in Township 21-N-R6 east that I should buy or tell me the sections that are in the ridges or folds that pay will be found. Also tell me the best section for big oil also section for gas. Also best location by section for my own well and next well and where pay will be found that is oil. If oil & gas tell me when gas will be found at what depth and were oil will be found and at what depth. Also when to set casing to shut off all water and when to set casing for pay. Shall I set casing on top of gas or below gas or in oil & gas is in same formation? I mailed you list of section I owned in Township 21-N-R6 east. If oil is under other section I don’t own tell me and I buy them. Rush answer on well in section 18 Township 21-N-6 E.

Yours of some days ago received. I haven’t had an opportunity as yet to go over this matter. I haven’t been well, and then our building is under erection and I am having to supervise or keep on the lookout for this, and it hasn’t given me the chance to do it. I will do this as soon as I can, if I’m not delaying you too much or holding things up in any way. I’m desirous of helping if I can. There are some portions of this I CAN’T do. I won’t tell you about the OTHER fellow’s well - I won’t undertake it. I’ll try to tell you about that which is yours, but will NOT tell you about the other fellow’s.

Dear Mr. Cayce

Glad to receive yours of Aug. 13th. Yes I have been looking for a letter from you for some time. I thought perhaps you have given up any hopes on me doing the things I started out to do. Well I have so far done the things I said I would. God has keep me in my work. I know that because I could not have done it without his help. This is what I have done. I have got together over 5000 acres in Township 21-N-R.6 east in Morehouse Parish, La. I have contracted with The United Carbon Co. to drill the well in section 18 to 3000 feet below sea level unless they find oil or gas at a lesser depth. I gave them 1750 acres & well I own the balance. I am on the well every day. They must take core of every change of formation, and test and I am to have access to all cores & test. They are to do as I want as I have put in contract what I want done to make proper test and if they don’t do it, all leases & well will come back to me. But I am sure they will do everything to make a well. We are now drilling in sandy lime and hard lime rock at 2728 below surface well check high over Texas well in section 15-Tx 22-N-R-7E where they (?) have so they claim over 45 ft. of pay as follows from 2886 to 2922 Red Shale & Oil, 1 ft. Lime Rock at 2922 to 2923 - then 18 ft. Oil Sand. Our well in section 18-21-N-R6E on Gas Rock check about 140 to 158 ft. higher on Red Bed check 208 ft. higher on surface elevation or about 100 ft. on Gas Rock & 150 ft. on Red Bed higher on sea level. What I would like to know: First, will we pick up pay in our well in section 18, if so at what depth and in what formation? When should we set 4 1/2 in. casing, and in what formation? Will gas be found alone or gas & oil - or oil. I own leases in section 5-6-7-10-12-14-18-19-20-21-22-28-29-30- 31-32. in Township 21-N-R-6-East. And sections 12-13-14-24- 36 & 35 Township 21-R-5 East. Most of my holding are around section 30 & section 21. Can block up more acreage and am now working on same. Please give me reading at once on well in section 18 Township 21-Range 6 East also on section I have leases in also as to section 30 & section 21- Township 21-N-R-6 east. Also give me reading on information referred to in my other letter and your letter of Aug. 13th. I am working along the lines I have wrote you about. I know I will win. Now Mr. Cayce I need the information I wrote for on what you say you will give me. I need now the information on well in section 18- Township 21-R-6E. I am on that well each day giving orders what to do. As The United Carbon Co. and myself are working together to find oil. I want to block around sec. 30 & section 21, if it is good and drill my own well. Now I can send you some money next week for the reading if that is why you have not sent reading. Mr. Thomas has paid through Pres and he or I have only that (?) copy of one reading. I will work with you if you want me to. Yours very truly C. I. Bacon Information need now.
