This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 12th day of July, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [421], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis and L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Tenn. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes - here we have the body, not in the immediate department just this minute. Rest room.

  2. We have had the body here before.

  3. As we find, there are indications of the physical and nerve strain that is shown in the body from not having followed wholly those suggestions that were formerly given for the relief of those pressures on the feet and limbs, and these sympathetically make for the locomotory centers to be so disturbed as to produce such a strain on the body as to prevent recuperative forces and resuscitation being complete, or being carried to its better elements. Hence that which has been assimilated has not rebuilded the body in its proper way and manner.

  4. This has been, as we have indicated, rather a subtle condition; the effects being much more pronounced than the causes of the troubles. There should have been more thorough, and a more PERSISTENT and consistent, carrying out of the massage for the lower limbs and the feet, as indicated, which would have taken a great deal of the strain off the body; that is now, from the activities and the necessity of being on the feet and limbs oft, making for a pressure in the lumbar-sacral areas as to cause headaches, bearing down pains across the small of the back, heaviness in the stomach, especially of mornings - as of bad taste, and fullness in the system; heaviness through the lungs at times, and wakefulness at certain periods when the body doesn’t rest as well as it should; not rested when it awakes from normal sleep. These are pressures in the nerve system, you see.

  5. We would, then, repeat that which has been given for the lower limbs and for the feet - especially the feet, that should be massaged thoroughly with those properties that have been indicated - the tannin forces that may be obtained in such a nature as to be most helpful to the burses in the feet and limbs. Also we would now, when the rest periods begin:

  6. Take Ventriculin as a tonic, and we would take at least two or three bottles of same - pint bottles, you see, as the indications are, and we will build up the body.

  7. We would also take those massages (that may be given at home) across the lumbar and up to the lower portion of the cervical area, with equal parts Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh, and this we would take at least every other day - in the evening; and take time to do it! If it isn’t worth doing, then it isn’t worth trying! And if it is worth trying, it is worth doing properly?

  8. Such a massage should be given following the deep manipulation with the electrically driven vibrator, from the lower end of the spine to base of the brain, from lower end of spine to base of brain, or on either side of the spinal column - along the course especially of the sympathetic nerve system. Give this for at least five to ten to fifteen minutes. Then massage thoroughly with equal parts of the Olive Oil and Myrrh.

  9. Do not forget - at ALL times - the massage for the FEET, and especially the feet and ankle, and massaging to the knees and along under the knees, and along over the muscular forces of the lower portion of the limbs.

  10. With this change, with the diet kept in nearer the alkalin reaction, but rebuilding - of course, as will be the demands in the system from the use of the Ventriculin - we will build strength and vitality to the body.

  11. Ready for questions.

  12. We are through with this reading.
