This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce in Selma, Alabama (?), this 21st day of June, 1921, in accordance with request made by Mr. [4257].
[Edgar Cayce; A. D. Butler (?), Conductor; (?), Steno. Mr. [4257] [present from Florida?].]
Time of Reading Unknown.
-
ADB: Mr. Cayce, you have before you the body and business of [4257] who is here in this room. You will answer the questions about this body and the business. Has this body any serious chronic stomach or intestinal trouble, Mr. C?
-
EC: It has stomach or intestinal trouble, or it becomes both when excited by worry or by excitement, or throws off its trouble through the [word(s) missing] gastric as it causes trouble through the intestinal digestion. It is not chronic at present. It might become so if it was allowed to remain or to grow and not given the proper incentive for balance throughout the system. The reflected condition from this would be the effect to the [word(s) missing] of digestion through intestinal region or to the liver or to the kidneys, or to both if allowed to remain.
-
In treating this, or to remove this trouble, would be for the body to take proper exercise, for the body itself to relieve this condition, not medicinal properties, for we overtax one or the other of the systems by the lack of nerve tissue or force, to carry proper connection when this is done. That is with an excitement which we have in this body to the nerves in the stomach known or called the [word(s) missing] which is the upper end of the stomach, these medicinal properties must either affect the lactic of the [word(s) missing] fluid in the system, overtaxing or bringing too much of one or the other, according to the condition of that part of the body. Then the effect reflex commences, producing too much of the pancreatic juices which becomes lactic, or too much of the excretion from the liver, causing too much acid to pass, causing a turning of the course of the lower intestines and a forming of co-agulated crust along the intestinal tract, then we would have a chronic condition. To remove this, take exercise of this character: Something of the same form as setting-up exercises we have for army regulations, save more should be given to the bending forward movement of the muscles of the stomach and abdomen, so that we bring more flow of blood to these parts. That in itself will remove the condition if this is kept up regularly. Exercise five or ten minutes morning and evening. The body should follow with cold rub down across the spine just after it. This gives a shock to the system about the 9th dorsal.
-
(Q) How long will it take to remove this trouble, Mr. Cayce? (A) The rub down should be taken for some four or five weeks, the rest from 6 to 8 months to 2 years. It will keep the body young if this should be done.
-
(Q) Will it be best for this body and the family to leave Hopkinsville, Ky., and move to Florida, Mr. Cayce? (A) In the business relations that are to become, and that have already become to this party, [4257] there are many factors to be considered, in the removal of the person and of the relations to and connections with business in the places as referred to here, Hopkinsville, Ky., and in Florida. The interests divided is not good, either for this party or those connected with it, so we would say the relations and with the connections, it is better they were directed in Florida.
-
(Q) How soon should this change be made, Mr. Cayce? (A) Within the next twelve months. There are some things that are to present themselves in business relations in the places that will need the attention in body Florida and Kentucky, so it will be necessary to wind up these or change these before the, in fact, change is made. That is why the length of the period will be needed for the change.
-
(Q) Shall this body sell his house in Hopkinsville, Ky? (A) No, not at this present time, because property will be worth more there within the next nine months than it is at present.
-
(Q) Should this body become associated with anyone in Florida in a business way, or anyone else, and if so, who? (A) There are many different ones already in Florida, in whom there are business relations he is in touch and associated with. These will grow from time to time. So we would say there will be many with whom he will be associated. As to who, he is to choose them for himself, we do not choose those over here.
-
(Q) Will this body ever be actively connected with the Cayce Petroleum Co. of Texas, Mr. Cayce? [See [3777] series.] (A) With the developments that are going on from time to time, and with the changing of the affairs and the changing of the personnel of the company, as we see it, he will be one day one of the officers.
-
(Q) What disposition should this body make of his stock in the Kentucky Flour Spar Company, and what will be the final outcome of this company? (A) If the Company weathers the storm of which it is at the present time in [words missing], with the beginning of the developments for more of the produce for which it is needed, there will be an advance of this stock so that it would not at the present time be better to dispose of the stock, unless the handling of these is improved very much more than some of them are being handling and being watched closer, even then it would be better to be rid of it as soon as possible at any price. Because there is coagulation being made with many of the production companies in regard to this product, Flour Spar.
-
(Q) Will the Flint Gravel Company of Arkansas City, Kansas, be sold soon, and will this body lose anything on that investment? (A) Take this up with the Memphis Paving & Gravel Company, Memphis, Tenn., and they will make some money out of it.
-
(Q) Give this body full instructions as to just how to proceed with his business from now on, in order to make it very successful. (A) For this they must do with his own, follow the lines we have given, as outlined from the various channels through which this body is to operate. Use his own judgement and his own self, and place his own self in the right and proper channels, to do and direct in these things, if he would make a success. As to directing through the channels of these, we can give only the suggestions and they must act, and this body, and he will be with others, must act on his own initiative, not on what we would give here.

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
In going over some of my old files the other day I ran across certificate of stock amounting to 500 shares in the Cayce Petroleum Company of Clerbourne, Texas.
I am writing to inquire if there has ever been any development of the leases or property belonging to this company and whether or not at this time they still own any property or assets. I will appreciate your writing me fully as to the subject.
I hope you are in good health and doing well, and shall be glad to hear how you are getting along and just what you are doing at present. We have been living here since last January, and business conditions are very good here. There has been considerable interest the past few months in buried treasure around here and in other parts of Fla. They estimate there are many millions of gold buried close to the coast line of Florida and it has occurred to me you might be interested in coming here and helping to locate these hidden treasures for a certain percent of what was recovered - of course they have instruments they use that are supposed to be fairly accurate but I thought perhaps you might be able to definitely locate the spot. I am already interested in two projects that are supposed to contain about ten million in gold.
The “Popular Mechanics” magazine for August has an interesting article on “Hunting for Lost Treasure” get it and read it, and let me have your opinion on the matter.
With personal regards I remain
Yours very truly, [4257]
R4. 8/31/34 EC’s letter to [4257]
Mr. [4257] Miami, Fla.
My dear Mr. [4257],
I was very much surprised, but very glad to have yours of the 26th. I had wondered what in the world had become of you, and if you were still in Florida.
I am in hopes that you are enjoying the best of health and that you are meeting the situations in which possibly most of us have found ourselves in the last few years in the most satisfactory way and manner.
As to the questions you asked: The Cayce Petroleum Company, [See [3777] series] I believe, was ordered dissolved by the State Corporation Commission of Texas in 1923 or 24. It has no holdings at all at this time. You may be able to get the entire information from the Secretary, Mr. J. T. McConnell, of Meridian, Texas. He can tell you the whole situation at this present time.
I am glad to say that I am in very good health. Have been struggling along for a number of years. Of course, I am still working at the same thing, giving readings almost every day. Of course, the greater part of this is confined to the physical and the mental and spiritual welfare of man. I have tried to keep away from the business and speculative work as much as possible. At times, of course, it has been necessary that we meet some emergencies by consenting to undertake information for some of our friends who have been interested in other than physical health or spiritual welfare of any individual.
Yes, I have heard a good deal about the buried treasure in and around Florida. In fact, in 1927, I spent a month in Florida and made several trips with a group of persons seeking out treasures [[996], [1274], [1279], [5674]]. There came up a good many dissensions and disputes. Whether this had anything to do with our being unable to locate or whether it was impossible to locate it with this type of information, I do not know, but if you have an instrument and it is of the correct type, and if you have any idea of the vicinity, you should be able to make a location.
This vicinity, as you possibly know, was once the headquarters of some of the most noted pirates. Quite recently, Pirate Islands and the vicinity where there is supposed to be buried a million or more in gold, silver and precious stones, has been made accessible by the government turning a portion of it into a park. Some few people that know of this have suggested that I assist them in trying to make a location, so we have a general idea, if the information is correct, but not having an instrument, of course, have not been able as yet to exactly determine just what is the best location.
Possibly, you might get your instrument working on this, or would it be practical?
Many thanks for the the suggestion about the magazine. I will look this up.
Should any developments arise where it will be possible for me to be of help, I will be very glad to try, though I have no particular interest, as I say, in anything of the kind.
Be sure and let me hear from you again, and with kindest personal regards and best wishes, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
