This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Phillips Hotel in Dayton, Ohio, this 3rd day of November,1923.

Time of Reading 3:30 P. M.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, we find that there are some abnormal conditions. These have to do with the functioning of organs with the nerve system and its effect upon organs in their functioning and through the mental, that which these conditions have brought to bear on the body and the physical condition produced from that effect.

2. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body of [4283], we are speaking of, …, Georgia. In the blood supply of the body, there is shown some bacilli produced in the system from toxins as have been gathered in the blood by the condition of the intestinal tract and the effect has been in the corpuscles themselves or the effect upon the circulation in portions of the body that were affected by other bacilli that was destroyed yet left the indentations, as it were, in the tissue and ligaments of the body, which in turn has become the affection that becomes detrimental to the nerve system, - this arising, we see, from the condition of digestion at times in the body from this bacilli when produced, eliminated but leaving its marks upon the system, then the other bacilli from toxins created and not eliminated, hence poor eliminations. Fast pulsation, creation in the heart forces of those of a fullness, smothering to the circulation in the pulmonaries, the engorged condition of the arterial circulation, the veins becoming slack in their action of muscular forces they bring the blood supply back through the condition as is created. These are spasmodic, not all the time occurring, but with cycles of creation of tissue as is formed in the pancreas, diaphragm, spleen, liver, circulation for the trunk portion of the body, see. In the nerve forces in the body, the effect from condition produced in this has been the cause and is at present that which causes the condition to exist in the nerve system, for the body is very well balanced normally. In the cerebro-spinal nerves, some centers, especially that about the secondary cardiac plexus center, shows this condition as we have given, being that causing the condition in the overtaxing of heart forces by this contraction, not the organ itself, the heart being efficient in its functioning itself, but the nerve governing same reflexly causing the condition, see, making poor circulation in the system.

3. In the organs of the body, we find brain forces very good. Well balanced, for conditions in the system. Throat, lungs, larynx, bronchials, perceptibly or susceptible to the colds and congestion from bacilli as was created in the system, to produce the condition necessary to overcome this, often taxes these organs themselves. Digestive tract very good at present time. That through the upper portion of digestion being that which gives off the toxins as gathered in the system, causing the troubles to the body, both through circulation and the nerve forces in the system.

4. To give the better relief then for this body, we would relax through deep manipulation, centers that give the eliminating suggestion, as it were, to the system or relax those organs as the liver, the kidneys and the lungs. Give the contraction to those centers that stimulate nerve supply from the system, as those we find about the solar plexus, the cardiac plexus, the lumbar plexus, one to contraction, one to relaxation, that we may produce the balance in the system necessary for this body’s betterment in the physical plane. Do that.

5. (Q) Mr. Cayce, should the teeth in this body be drawn? (A) No, only those of the second molars, upper and lower on one side, you see, need to be removed. Those conditions produced by this bacilli in the system. For the specific condition use this:

To three ounces of distilled water add one ounce of bark of prickly ash, reduce by simmering to two gills, and strain. Heat common salt and add until a thin mixture is made. Wash or rinse the mouth with this every third day for three to five treatments. Then those that need correction where exposed nerves are shown in the ones as given, remove those.

The toxins are not from the teeth entirely, see, these only add to the other toxins. It was first produced by that streptococci bacilli and that as is known in this plane as “flu”. The reaction is from that and bacilli comes from autointoxication from the intestinal tract where the system has been allowed to gather from those portions that which should be eliminated from the system. Hence the body, you see, at times suffers from constipation, see. Do this as we have given, if we would keep and correct the conditions for the betterment of this body. Do that, we are through.

Please give a reading and tell me just what he needs as to treatment and describe diet. One physician thinks that Mr. [4283]‘s nervous condition is due to so much traveling. Please tell me if this is harmful for him. Also if coffee and tobacco (he smokes) are injurious. I’m so anxious for you to give in detail just what he needs to be well again and not nervous…”

R4. 9/13/24 Wife [4280]‘s letter: ”…Mr. [4283] is greatly underweight at present and very nervous. Please give the treatment and diet he needs to make him well again…”

R5. 9/20/24 EC wrote that he had been delayed due to having lost his voice again, ”…Having had a return of my old trouble when I first knew Dr. Layne…”

R6. 9/27/24 EC gave the third reading - 4283-3.

He can not sleep after 3:00 a.m. due to poor circulation. Some doctors think he has heart trouble and have told him so. Should he leave off all coffee and cigars?”
