This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of October, 1928, in accordance with request made by his mother, Mrs. [629].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before. Now, we find the general physical conditions show improvement from that as we have had before. There is better coordination in the mental and with the physical being. Hence better understanding and better comprehension of that indicated or meant for betterment of the physical body. As has been outlined, there is the necessity for creating this coordination in the system that there be the nearer perfect unison between the action of the physical body and the mental reaction in the system. This, as has been indicated, is in the process of development. While the reaction and retraction of nerve impulses has been nil, in the respect that there was full conscious physical reaction - in a mental manner - through the inactivity of brain centers with the centers of the sympathetic and cerebro-spinal plexuses, these show that there is change for the better through the mentality of the body; while not in a great nature, but sufficient that the reactions physical show some hearing, vision, and SENSIBILITIES of surrounding conditions, also better response in physical being. Hence there is still the necessity of the battery vibration as has been given, and we would renew, or make over such battery in EXACTLY the same manner as has been given. Necessary, too, that the osteopathic manipulations be accorded occasionally, that the synchronism may be brought or established in the system, especially in centers dealing with cerebro-spinal and sympathetic connective ganglia. These, as are seen, give radiation to the sensory system, and give nerve impulse. Ready for questions.

2. (Q) How many osteopathic treatments a week? (A) One, and sometimes two.

3. (Q) Shall we continue electric treatment? (A) The BATTERY, as has been given, should be used. This sends a low-form of electric vibration that is beneficial to synchronism in the nerve system, and especially to brain reaction. Before very long - after thirty to sixty days - we will add a DIFFERENT reaction in battery for GLANDS in the system. Keep these as given at the present time.

4. (Q) Will the body be able to walk and talk? (A) Were these conditions consistently and persistently followed out, we will find response in both directions.

R1. 11/5/28 Father [554]‘s letter: “Enclosed check for [4613]‘s reading. He is improving and we are following your suggestions in every detail.”

R2. 11/21/28 Mother [629]‘s letter: “Will you please give [4613] another reading? Please tell us whether the Battery treatment with the other electric treatment is not too much for him. The electric treatment is given for an hour a day one small plate at the base of the brain the other on the umbelecum then the next day the small plate on the wrist and the larger on the abdomen and the third day the small plate on the ankle and the large plate on the abdomen. Then starting over again with the …[?] etc. This we give every day an hour then the battery on the evening for about 5 minutes. [4613] vomits and loses his breath often and he has been so restless at night hardly sleep an hour. Cries and cries so often when he is picked up - gases seem to come and then he seems relieved for a while. Please advise whether we should continue the same way also whether an osteopath is needed.”

R3. 1/3/29 Father’s letter to EC: “We do not understand just why we have not received your report on [4613] which you were to give us some time in December, also the letter which I have written you requesting some information has not been answered.

“I hope your health is good and that this information did not come forward due to the building operation.

“Hoping to hear from you very soon. Wishing you a Happy New Year.”

R4. 1/4/29 EC’s letter to mother: “Illness on my part has kept me from making the appointment for [4613]. I think now we can make it for the 9th, in the afternoon, if that will be satisfactory.

“I have really had the ‘flu’ and possibly you know what that means. I’m glad to say I’m feeling better, and want to get back to work to trying to be of service just as soon as possible - but you know it is very necessary that everyone take care of themselves that they may BE of service, especially at such times.

“Hoping and trusting that you and yours are getting along nicely, and THAT WE MAY BE of service, I am…”
