This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of January, 1929, in accordance with request made by his mother, Mrs. [629].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [4613] - this we have had before. In the outward physical reactions there apparently is not as satisfactory a condition as there HAS existed at former periods, yet as a whole the condition - physical and reactory in the system - is BETTERED from that as has existed in other times. There needs be that same ever present sincerity of the desire to carry forward that which will aid the body-physical in gaining its normal balance and its near normal coordination throughout the body. Tiring - exasperating at times; yet with that same loving kindness as the administrations of those physical conditions, as has been set forth for the bringing about of better coordination, the better rebuilding within the physical and mental being, that coordinating and cooperative force as is manifested through the experience of this entity, [4613] - just so will the response IN the physical come about. That is, in the applying of those vibratory reactory forces in nerve reactions in system as coordinate or produce coordination and vibration between the sympathetic, the cerebro-spinal, the central, and the reactory system - and, as is seen, these - with care - should be prepared in the material fashion, for the recharge has NOT been done properly, and hence the change in vibration has produced more of the tendency of cross-current, as it were, than has been in some of those prepared. Then, prepare same (the battery charges) in the manner as has been given, SPECIFICALLY, and apply same in accord WITH those, as has been given. Also using occasionally - that is, once at least each week, those gentle massages, osteopathically administered, that will bring to the system in this coordinating of muscular, the retraction of nerve centers and plexuses throughout the system, to bring about this proper accord within this developing body; and, as this is carried out, as this is administered, so will there be seen the coming about of a more normal, a more proper reaction in the system, and in the second cycle there should be near NORMAL reaction for the body. Do that. We are through for the present.

R1. 1/10/29 EC’s letter to father: “You no doubt already have the information which was gotten yesterday regarding [4613]‘s condition. I’m very sorry of the delay, that has been caused by unavoidable conditions. I certainly hope that the information will assist us in being able to still be of help.

“Hoping you will let us hear from you - and as soon as our hospital is in shape we will be able to keep closer and better in touch, and possibly have [4613] with us at least part of the time - we hope that he will gain very much faster.

“Hoping to have been of service, and with kindest personal thoughts…”

R2. 4/5/29 GD’s letter to father: “I am enclosing copy of a rdg. given today for a little girl [5547]. Knowing that you and Mrs. [629] have had experience with preparing a similar battery for [4613], I have suggested to Mr. Kahn and Mr. Nye [Relative of the child’s mother] - who are so interested in this case - that they get in touch with you, that you might help them in an understanding of the reading and preparation of the battery. I hope you do not think we are presuming too much on your good nature - but we felt sure you would be glad to do this.

“Hoping you will give Mr. Nye some time, should he call on you, and thanking you very, very much…”

R3. 5/2/29 DEK’s letter to EC: “In having luncheon with Mr. [554] today, he informed me that his boy [4613] has made wonderful improvement and that your name is sainted in their home. Mrs. [629] has fired 3-4 nurses for refusing to carry out instructions given by you. They now plan to send him to Germany to carry out additional things laid out in the rdgs. which they believe can better be handled there.”

R4. 5/4/29 Mr. [554] requested another business rdg. for himself.

R5. 2/24/31 He requested a second Physical Rdg. for his wife, Mrs. [629].

R6. 5/11/34 He requested a Physical Rdg. for himself, [554].

R7. 6/15/35 DEK’s letter: “I saw [554] yesterday and he said the rdgs. gave him a lot of hope when hope was at lowest ebb. “The boy [4613] died when Dr. Lorenz operated on him. [554] wanted to again get the reading but his wife [629] was so set on the operation and was assured of a complete recovery.”
