This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of September, 1932, in accordance with request made by Dr. A. J. Foerter, Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Peoria, Illinois. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes. Now, as we find, these are the conditions as when sought.

2. We would not alter the administrations for the relief of the body, save in the administering of that which would release more oxygen in the system, allowing through this release the resuscitation for those portions of system that are hindered in their rebuilding by the lack of this element in the blood as it courses through those affected portions.

3. Then, this would bring for the body more abilities to rid itself of those drosses or used energies that hinder the resuscitation from that assimilated in system, supplying vitality and nutriment to the body.

4. The effects in the present, then, are to the muco-membranes and to the lymph and emunctory circulation. This element - that is, the carbon ash - would be given one-eighth grain each day. Empty the powder from the capsule onto the tongue and wash down with a swallow of water, or empty the powder into water and drink it; preferably, take it dry and rinse down with the water.

5. Every other day, thirty to forty minutes after the dose of carbon ash is given, we would apply the violet or ultra-violet ray, especially along the cervical and dorsal area, that the effects of the oxygen (that would be released in system by these properties) will affect more in unison the tissue in the respiratory and the central circulation of the body.

6. The rest of the applications that are being made, with the meditations that are being given, we would keep much in the same manner.

7. After ten to fifteen days we would give further instructions. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) What is the outlook for this case? (A) If there are sufficient replenishing forces supplied through the addition of that given or suggested here, more helpful and optimistic might be the outlook for the body. These applications will tend to relieve those pressures that are seen in the circulation, by the creating of the lobules in the lymph and emunctories in portions of the tissue, and in the muco-membranes in trunk portions, as well as head and neck.

R1. 9/17/32 EC’s Letter: ”… I am sending to you the information that was gotten this morning for [4623]. The carbon ash that is recommended may be obtained… This is put up in 1/4 and 1/8 grain capsules but, as you will see, it is not to be taken in the capsule at all. Wherever this has been used as suggested, we have found quite remarkable results, save in one instance, and I don’t believe that it was given as suggested then.

“I would like very much for you to make up a list of questions to be asked concerning Mrs. [4623] at the appointed time for the check reading…”

R2. 9/29/32 Dr. Foerter’s letter: ”…I just started yesterday with the carbon ash for Mrs. [4623]. It took seven or eight days to get it…”

R3. 10/7/32 Dr. Foerter’s letter: ”…Mrs. [4623] is also making a beautiful new start for better physical expression. I note with interest what you say about the carbon ash, and will make some accurate records about its use. Maybe we’ll be able to accumulate data that in the minds of others will work for favorable attention…”

R4. 10/13/32 Dr. Foerter’s letter: ”…A report from me on Mrs. [4623]‘s progress is probably in order. The patient’s own words are ‘I am feeling better.’ The information received from her attendant is that she is better. This evidence is gratifying. Of course, she is still too incapacitated to move about without assistance, but she is happier than she has been for some time. Thank you. I have a few questions in connection with this case: What spiritual and mental help is to be rendered here, and how? May we have light on the causative factors from a mental and physical viewpoint? There can, of course, be no spiritual causation, for that is of a positive and life-giving for good. We are open for enlightment…”

Foerter’s Letter: ”…I wish that you would arrange for a reading of a patient of mine, Her name is [4623] and she resides at … She has been incapacitated and ill for several years. She is receiving quite a bit of medication now. Kindly pick up the following questions: Are there any suggestions and recommendations, the use of which can help this person to more normal conditions?
