This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 18th day of October, 1932, in accordance with request made by Dr. A. J. Foerter, Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: We have the body and those conditions that surround and disturb the body, Mrs. [4623].

2. Now, as we find, conditions in many manners show improvements. There is less tendency for the body to lapse into periods of unresponsive activity; less of those reactions that make for creating of temperature of the nature that destroys tissue and resistance; the assimilations for the body are better.

3. The properties for the releasing of the oxygen, that assists in making for better resistance in the physical sense from the application of the ultra-violet ray, with the elements that are responsive to same in the system that break down those forces that are destructive and give life or active forces to principles within the system, these are of the most material benefit at the present time.

4. We would, with the applications being already administered, apply the magnetic forces also for the body. Sitting on the left side of body, place the right hand at the brachial plexus center, and the left hand on the centers on body through which will make for the currents of the forces from body to body pass from the brachial center to the centers through which the inflexes from the lacteal or assimilating glands function. These currents will run in such application through the active forces of the lymph circulation. This will bring quietness and strength to the body, through such administrations. These we would give for at least twenty to thirty minutes at least every other day. We would also give with such administrations those suggestions that will act with the power or the force of suggestion in the mental body, as this:

5. THERE IS BEING CARRIED THROUGH THE LIFE STREAM (OR BLOOD) THAT THAT WILL ENABLE THE BODY TO BECOME RESPONSIVE TO THE LIFE GIVING FORCES IN MY BODY, TO MAKE FOR RESUSCITATIONS AND ENLIVENING OF ALL PORTIONS THAT HAVE HAD DISORDERS OR DISRUPTION FROM THEIR PROPER FUNCTIONING.

6. Let the body repeat this, and feel in self that consciousness that this is BEING conducted through those applications.

8. (Q) What spiritual and mental help is to be rendered here, and how? (A) In the manner that has been outlined, this gives that mental aptitude and attitude for the body, so that all the principles and forces that are being applied will coordinate more properly in the system.

In the spiritual aspects, well that there be given those suggestions in the conversation, that there is that life force through the spiritual elements of the body from within and from without making for cooperation and coordination in the material and physical body.

9. (Q) May we have light on the causative factors from a mental and physical viewpoint? (A) This basis, as indicated from the source that the vital force of energy is to be expended in the body, comes from those destructive forces that produced the first reaction to the circulation, as related to that assimilated in the body - see? With the inability of those glands to use that which WAS assimilated, there were brought those destructive forces to that portion of the system as exercised through the activity of the glands about assimilation, or the lacteals, with those of the secondary cardiac, and those elements in the pulmonaries that clarify and give the proper resuscitating forces to the blood supply itself; hence, with the proper expansion of the system through the change as created in the effect of carbon deoxidized, loosened within the system in life forces by the rays of the ultra-violet, there is released in the energies of the system those forces that act directly to the active forces of the blood stream.

R1. 10/21/32 EC’s letter to Dr. Foerter: ”…I believe the information gotten for Mrs. [4623] will give you some idea as to what has been insisted the ash will do, and I hope it is sufficiently eliminating as to be understood and helpful…”

R2. 1/4/33 Dr. Foerter’s letter: ”…Mrs. [4623] is responding very nicely to the treatment. She is, however, not familiar with many of the teachings of advanced thought and judging from appearances, it is most undesirable to ask her to cooperate in any advanced manner other then what she has been doing. She, too, is limited as to her motion. She is practically an invalid who requires constant administration by nurses and attendants. Her body is contracted and almost doubled up forwards from a deforming type of rheumatism. Both hands are subject to a tremor; and walking is a very arduous task for her, She has, however, a wonderfully sweet smile, and is always glad to express words indicating her improvement and also words showing her interest in the progress and welfare of others…”
