This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Halcyon Hotel, Miami, Florida, this 21st day of February, 1927, volunteered immediately following 1274-4.

Time of Reading 11:30 A. M.

1. EC: In the condition of Mrs. [4630] (as seen this morning), we have an overflow of blood here to the head, produced by the pressure as is seen in the 2nd cervical. This causes this condition of the stoppage of circulation, produced by the pressure caused on the 5th dorsal, which connects directly with the blood supply to the brain through the secondary plexus.

2. Would this pressure be removed, these conditions would be overcome in the body, and this tendency of high internal circulation be allayed, see?

R2. GD’s note: I don’t believe we sent Mrs. [4630] a copy of the above reading because we were never sure it was the same person. She only signed her given name and never her dead husband’s. Then, too, I suppose EC felt the above was inadequate. It may be that EC picked up this name “out of the blue” and that it is NOT the same as Mrs. [4630]. When her second reading (or her first was given on 4/5/27, EC did NOT say “We have had this before.” At any rate, this is the best place to get this volunteered reading on record. Dear Mrs. [4630]:

I wrote you on January 29th that I would make an appointment for a reading for you just as soon as I had the opportunity. We find, now, that the first open appointment we have is for the afternoon of Tuesday, April 5th. If this date and time as set is satisfactory, you will please return the card, with the full information necessary for us to give the reading - with whatever contribution you wish to make towards the work we are trying to do. We do not make specific charges, but we ask that each contribute according to their own abilities, for we feel sure that everyone wants to take care of our expense, when we give our time to their service. Should you not desire that the reading be made at this time, please let us know, as we have a long waiting list.

Mr. Edgar Cayce

Marcella Pfeifer gave me your little book to read which was sent to her by Miss Smith [Miss Edith Estella Smith, cousin of GC]. I read it through twice. The more I read the more I am in hopes that you could tell me what to do for the condition I am in, it seems the Doctors don’t know what to do for it. Two years ago I went through an operation and after the operation I was in a cast with my whole head all but the face for eight weeks and now I wear a brace a year and nine month[s] already. The Doctors call it Spasmodic Torticollis, its the right side of my neck I can not hold my head straight it pulls way over when I walk. I am so discouraged I don’t know what to do, its going in the fifth year. Before the operation I went to a St. Louis Clinic eight month[s] and just went from one thing to the other and no cure. I lost all hope of ever getting alright again.

When I read this book what you done for hopeless cases I thought maybe you could tell what it really is and if anything could be done for it.

Please let me hear from you if you could give me a reading.

Replying to yours of the 24th; I shall be very glad to make an appointment for a reading and see what we would be able to get - but just at the present time we are so far ahead with our appointments, we don’t feel like we would be doing an individual right to make it so far ahead and have them depend upon us, when possibly we might not be of benefit when the time came. But just as soon as we can catchup a bit, we will write you again, and if you still desire that we make the appointment, we shall be glad to do so.
