This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of December, 1926, in accordance with request made by her mother, Mrs. […].

1. GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body that I will ask you.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. This we have had before. The physical condition shows some improvement, though there are those centers that still need correcting. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Does the constipation have anything to do with convulsions? (A) The whole system being out of balance causes the reaction from those centers, producing the convulsions. Hence, directly and indirectly, the constipation is a portion of the disturbed condition that causes or produces, or assists toward the convulsions. The correction in those centers as govern the action of the intestinal system, the digestion, and the colon, should overcome the constipation, with the diet corrected for same, see? Hence, as is given, there are those centers in the cerebro-spinal system - 6th, and 7th dorsal, 10th and 11th dorsal, all need the adjustments and deep manipulation to bring about the normal incentive from each of these centers, see? as well as the massaging of the abdomen at the time such adjustments and treatments are given.

4. (Q) What causes the headaches? (A) Flow of blood to the head. Improper coordination in the circulation. Again we see, with this proper adjustment in the dorsal region, we will overcome that condition. Naturally, constipation causes headaches, from the contraction through the pneumogastric and hypogastric plexuses. Relieving this condition would relieve the headaches, as will also relieve the strain and pressure as is produced on those portions of the system as has been outlined for same.

5. (Q) Should I continue to be careful of diet? (A) Should continue to be very careful of the diet, and let those manipulations, osteopathically, be given in the special regions as has been shown here - the 6th, 7th dorsal, and the 10th and 11th dorsal - while the whole system needs adjustments, as it were, to these adjustments in these specific centers. These show the improper coordination in the digestive system, and the correction of these will bring about better corrections for the whole system.

R1. 12/8/26 EC’s letter to [4677]‘s mother:

“We are sending you, herewith, the check reading as was gotten this morning. I am of the opinion, Mrs. […] the osteopath is not doing all that he could do in respect to this case. I want to ask, if it isn’t too much trouble, won’t you take the little girl over to Dayton to Dr. L. A. Lydic in the Reibold Building? Carry the readings you have had, and let him see and examine the child, and even if he does not treat her, possibly he can better direct the one who has the case in charge. I say this, because he has had experience with these readings, and he knows how helpful they are to the operator, in getting at the seat of the trouble - for I would like to see the little girl get rid of this condition. I feel sure that he can. I know we have had too many of this character and nature of troubles in various parts of the country that HAVE been relieved, for this to be an exception.

“I hope you will let us hear from you from time to time, and I hope you will let me know what Dr. Lydic has to say regarding the case.”

R2. 12/14/26 Mother’s letter to EC:

“Your letter containing Reading rec’d this A.M. Now I am awfully worried as I do not know how I could possibly get over to Dayton. My husband will do anything or give the last cent we have - do anything which he thinks will be of benefit; we took the little girl here for 40 treatments but I did not take her last week as I thot she had ought to improve some with that many treatments. I do not dare to let my husband know of these readings as he would not let me do anything if he knew I was doing so from READINGS. Do you think or know of a Dr. here in city you could recommend! I will wait for a reply before trying to find another Dr.”

R3. 12/22/26 EC’s letter to [4677]‘s mother:

“I am in receipt of yours of the 14th, and am today writing to see if I cannot locate the right sort of a man for you - one that will cooperate with what you are trying to do. I am sorry that circumstances are such that you cannot go directly to this man in Dayton, but I realize the position under which you are placed, and I sincerely hope and trust we shall be able to be of service. So many people in various parts of the country are getting results from similar conditions, where the suggestions as given are adhered to, and I feel very sure your little girl will obtain the same if they are followed correctly.

“I will let you hear just as soon as I can get a reply. Assuring you of my desire to be of assistance, and wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas, I am…”

R4. 12/22/26 EC’s letter to Dr. L. A. Lydic, Reibold Building, Dayton, Ohio:

“Here I come to worry you again for a little bit - but as usual, of course, it is for someone else.

“There is a lady in Cincinnati who has a little girl that is in need of some special osteopathic treatments and adjustments. I have already suggested to her that she bring her child to you, but she tells me it is impossible - on account of circumstances - for her to do this, and wants to know if there is not someone there in Cincinnati who will carry out these suggestions and treat just in the way as has been given. So, not knowing any of them there, I am appealing to you to help me out. I don’t know, of course, how they feel about this, or how they will take the readings

• so you will have to kind of help me along with it - if you do so, and I hope you will - for naturally this mother is very anxious, and I know that there are so many in various parts of the country that are doing the very thing that is suggested for this child for practically the same condition, and they are getting marvelous results - and there is no reason that this cannot be done. Please look into this right away for me, and let me hear from you just as soon as it is practical. I shall certainly appreciate it.

“We are all pretty well, except Edgar Evans. He got a very bad burn about six weeks ago, and is not able as yet to be on his feet, and won’t be, I am afraid, for some little time yet. It has been very hard on himself as well as the rest of the household, as I am sure you can well imagine.

“We all send our kindest personal regards, and wishing you a Merry Christmas - PLEASE let me hear from you right away!”

R5. 12/27/26 Dr. L. A. Lydic’s letter to EC:

“In reply to your letter of December 22nd, will advise you to refer your client to Dr. Walter H. Siehl, 601 Traction Bldg., Cincinnati, Ohio. (Traction Bldg. is at Fifth and Walnut Sts.) I shall write a short letter to this Doctor and explain the case according to your letter and I am sure he will cooperate with you and the patient.

“I have been extremely busy these past few months and therefore quite negligent where correspondence was concerned. I regret to learn of Edgar Evans misfortune and hope that it is not of serious nature.

“Thanking you for your Christmas wish and hoping that you may have a happy and successful year, I am…”

R6. 12/30/26 EC’s letter to mother:

“Regarding my letter to you of December 22nd, I want to give you the name and address of the man in Cincinnati, to whom you can carry the little girl - also all the reports that have been made in the readings. He is no doubt in touch with the man in Dayton, and I believe you will get results.

Dr. Walter H. Siehl, 601 Traction Bldg., Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Traction Building is at Fifth and Walnut Streets. Should, after this gentleman examines the little girl, he desires to have a reading made and ask direct questions, we shall be glad to take it up just as soon as possible…”

The following notes were taken on cases as read and are merely the opinion of the abstractor at the time he read the case plus the correspondence. The main value of these notes is that they give some indication of what the exact diagnosis in each case may or may not be.

Case [4677]. Given in 1926. 8 year old female. This case was classified in group 2. The mother in her letter said that the child had convulsions and headaches, but there was no description other than this. After 40 treatments, there was no improvement noted, and no further follow-up after the second reading was given.
