GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the further improvement of same, and you will answer any questions regarding same that I will ask you.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body. We have had this here before.
-
Now, we find, while there are many changes in the physical conditions of the body, those physical forces as produce the conditions that trouble the body - that through the digestive system, and the condition as exists through same - are not materially changed; held more in obeisance [abeyance?], as it were, by the actions physically and mentally of the body, rather than by improvements created or brought about by conditions that are being applied at present to the physical forces of the body.
-
In those conditions as have been given for the improvement of these forces in the system, we find the body through the mental forces did not apply those conditions in the way and manner given - for, with the taxation produced, the body mentally arrived at that conclusion that these were detrimental, rather than beneficial to the physical forces of the body.
-
Now, in the present conditions, these are the forces as we find that cause the disturbance in the system:
-
We have a condition existent in the colon proper that may be called prolapsus of the traverse [transverse?] colon, which, with the existent condition, brings about at times - when this has builded to that place wherein there is re-absorption of poisons in the system - the rise to the many reactions through the nerve system and through the blood supply, and with inflammation created at times there arises that which causes retraction through the jejunum - or through the small intestine - giving irritation to all of the digestive system that takes place below the stomach proper, and most of digestion, and all of assimilation, takes place below this, unless it be that which be absorbed in system that acts directly with the nerve plexus through the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus in the lower end of the stomach proper.
-
Now, to meet the needs of these conditions - for, as we find, with the gases forming in stomach, with the fullness as is exhibited throughout the right side or right portion, with the pressure as is created by such formations of gas in the system, that pressure on the lower portion of the diaphragm causes distress to all of the pulmonary system. This hinders circulation. This hinders breath. This causes distress to the head. This brings weakness and laggardness to all of the extremities, in that the blood supply - which is already deteriorated by the physical forces and inability of the system to absorb that to rebuild sufficiently in the body - brings to the system those tired, dull, laggard, haggard, leadened feelings - and to overcome these, we would again resort to those conditions as have been outlined for the body to take, those manipulations osteopathically given, that would strengthen those muscles in the portion of the body that will bring the colon near to its proper position. An X-ray of this portion of the system will thoroughly indicate the condition as is existent, see? either through that of the plain, or through the dose of the properties necessary to outline the traverse, ascending, and descending, colon. This may be cleansed, too, by using high enemas - preferably those of the nature that will cleanse the colon in its entirety.
-
Take into the system Charcoal Tablets, in the form of that as prepared by Kellogg’s, Battle Creek, Michigan, for these carry that property of honey, rather than that which will ferment in the system in any form. Take one of these tablets each day, preferably in the evening.
-
Also use that of the Petrolagar (ALKALINE, see?) - two tablespoonsful twice each day, see?
-
The diet should be preferably those elements that are easily assimilated in the system. Green vegetables and fruits. Not too much apples, but any other fruits that will assimilate in system. The body will find that at times there will be one that will agree, and another time would cause disturbance. Oranges and grapefruit, especially pears, would be well for the body - any of these are good.
-
And the manipulations and adjustments necessary to at least bring about the contraction of the muscles in that of the mesenteric system, that lend sufficient strength, and when cleansed properly will rid the system of the poisons and the accumulations that come from same by toxins absorbed from the condition in the colon, and in the lower digestive system. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) How can the body be relieved of constipation? (A) Just that as is given. Cleanse the system, see? by those of the enemas, using an antiseptic, ever, in this - for with this prolapsus, or with this giving away of the colon itself, so that it lies in an unnatural position, or overlaps each other (as would indicate by the condition), we will - correcting this - correct the condition. Hence the diet as is necessary, that there may not be in the feces that which will cause the properties to seek [seep?] out those channels and lie within the colon proper, see? Correcting by the diet, by the properties taken in system, and HOLDING in same by that of the osteopathic adjustments to strengthen the muscular forces in the mesenteric system, in the lumbar and in the sacral, so that this will remain. The body will build back to itself, were these followed out consistently and persistently - consistent and persistent - would the body be rid of these conditions, and physically fit to meet those conditions necessary for normal health of the body - because it CAN be brought about!

Mr. Edgar Cayce % Association of Nat. Investigators Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Friend:-
Haven’t heard from you in a long time. I received your circular letter of March 28th [See under 554-3 Reports in re Cayce Hospital opening.]. They have at last apparently think that they have found the seat of my colitis condition being caused by infected teeth. Two were pulled not long ago and I was confined to my home for nearly two months from the re-action. When I get well perhaps I can really help your institution out.
With kindest regards and best wishes, I remain,
Sincerely your friend, [4709]
