This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 29th day of September, 1924, in accordance with request made by the self, Mr. [4709].

1. GC: You will give the physical conditions of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for the improvement of same. You will also answer any questions relative to this body that I may ask.

2. EC: We find there are some changes in the body since last we had it here. Some have been for better, but the most have been for the worse condition in the body. The conditions as we find them at the present time, this condition produced in the lower portion of the stomach, and in the duodenum, there producing the fermentation of foods, and the reaction in the gastric centers, producing gas and the pressure on all of the centers, and especially on that of the hypogastric plexus, near the umbilicus, to the right and above. This we find is caused by the lacerations and ulcerations as produced in the system by this taxation and by adhesives as were given in times back. These have not been entirely removed from the system. Some have been assisted. Others we find are not so good, for the sediments as taken in the system to produce the relaxing by the stimulation of the mucus forming condition in the body only produces the greater distress in the descending colon, for with the high hepatic circulation as produced by the raising of the circulation, hence producing the taxing of the mucus forming glands in the intestinal tract, only cause the system to become drained of the normal condition of mucus producing conditions in the intestinal tract. Then the reaction in the colon produces the dryness in the ascending colon, and with the lesions as produced there from external conditions this only becomes aggravated.

3. Then to give the body the best and the greater relief to this whole system, we would, leaving off other conditions, adhere to this condition. Take no water in the system save that carrying properties of elm and lithia. Take no foods save those that carry the incentive for the proper producing condition in the system. Namely these:

Whole wheat, pressed, cleansed and pressed, and this formed into a well prepared gruel, with the milk as would be used, with this only beet sugar, and sufficient milk to make such palatable to the body. Do not take large quantities of this, but take it more often. Graham crackers may be used, Junket may be used. This we find will also assist the conditions in the liver’s action in the body. Also, at all times, wear the applicator of the radium applicator, but across this portion of the body, where the distress is caused; that is, the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus.

5. For the condition in the rectum, where the distress is caused, prepare a solution as an ointment of these properties:

6. To 3 ounces of butterfat, rendered you see fresh, no salt in same, only the oil of same, add 15 grains of Burton’s Snuff, 1 minim Spirits of Camphor, 2 minims Eucalyptol. Mix well together. Anoint the parts with the injector as would be used in a tube, would be inserted in rectum, causing these properties to be put high in the lower portion of the colon, using high enemas of oil, and use the high grade of olive oil for the rectum, that we may cleanse the whole colon, using these high enemas at least twice each week. Do this, with also the stimulation at least once each week of the deep manipulation, osteopathically, over the whole system, and work this, the osteopathic treatment, in conjunction with the properties applied; that is, stimulate the excretory system from the cerebro-spinal centers supplying the conditions in the body. Do that, [4709].

7. (Q) What causes the body to become depressed at times? (A) The pressure that is produced on the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus cuts off the blood supply through the sympathetic nerve system, directly cutting off the recuperative forces of the cell producing properties between brain and spleen. Hence the depression, melancholia and insomnia, all produced form this pressure.

Follow these, and we will find the body bettered.

P.S. As to the radium applicator mentioned, this is the third time in my experience that I have given this to anyone. I have never seen one of these and know nothing about the company. One of the people whom I suggested this for lives here in Dayton. They were here, at my office, Sunday a week ago, for a reading for a friend of theirs [4218], and the body who is using the applicator tells me if she could not get another that she wouldn’t take a thousand dollars for the one she has; that she has never had anything that has done her as much good. I would certainly get one and try it, if I were you.

I have yours of the 10th, and I am sorry to know that the suggestions as were given in the reading the last time did not prove effective. Are you sure you gave them the full opportunity to? Or did you reach the point where you felt there was no need in carrying out further suggestions that might be made through such reading? It is very, very unusual for anyone not to get results if they will follow it out. We shall be glad to try it again, if you so desire, and see what could be found.

Many thanks for your father’s address. I’m sorry to say, however, we do not find your card enclosed. We shall certainly be glad to have you a member of the Association, and would appreciate whatever contribution you desire to make, if any.
