This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of December, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [480], through Active Membership of her mother, Mrs. [601].

Time of Reading 3:25 to 3:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Detroit, Mich. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [480]; this we have had before.
-
While there are, in the immediate, some unlikely reactions, as we find in the main the conditions are gradually improving.
-
And we need to keep those conditions, as it were, gradually on the improve. For, as related to those things that would make for the adjustments of the eliminating system, as related to the periods (which necessitates, of course, taking at times - but consistently - the Tonicine), and the correction along the cerebrospinal system to make the proper coordination from the cerebrospinal to the sympathetics, we may keep a normal balance, overcoming the dizziness that arises - and the headaches.
-
While the manipulations and adjustments would not be required as often, they should be kept occasionally - two, three, four times a month; though at periods they would be taken oftener, that we may have the proper reactions.
-
We find, too, that the diet - as it has in the main in recent experience - makes for a great deal of change.
-
Keep the eliminations in a normal manner; and we will make for the better corrections for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is advised for improvement and passing of haziness which still continues? (A) As indicated, keep the eliminations (that is, between the eliminating systems, see?), so that at the periods there may be the proper elimination and the coordination between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal system in this connection; both by the taking of those properties indicated and by the manipulations necessary to overcome the condition.
-
(Q) In what quantity and how often should the Tonicine be taken? (A) As indicated, this is well to be taken about a week BEFORE, and up to and during the periods, see? It has been indicated as to the quantity; that ordinarily indicated. These are the best periods, but - as is seen - these properties carry constitutional building elements that are very helpful. These are the best periods, and the quantity as indicated for the dosage.
-
(Q) Please outline diet to be followed at present. (A) Tend to those foods more of the alkalin reaction, in a general diet; bewaring of too great quantities of sweets at any time, either as at breakfast in syrup and cakes or at other periods. No bananas nor raw apples. No steak rare, nor any meat that is heavy - nor red meat. No quantities of grease. Not too great a quantity of sweets at any period, as desserts; though ice cream, ices or the like may be taken in moderation; but no syrups or fats - and divide in a normal manner the small quantity of sweets taken. Quantities of fruits - as grapes, pears, oranges, figs, raisins, nuts - any of these may be taken. Not nuts in great quantities, but especially almonds, filberts or the like.
-
(Q) Can eggs be included in diet? (A) Eggs may be included, provided you exclude the whites.
-
(Q) Is the A B D good for me? (A) This depends a great deal, of course, upon how WELL balanced the diet is. In the A B D there is only added the vitamins in an increased quantity, and it may unbalance those indicated in some of the diet - but if the diet is kept WELL balanced as to calory content, protein content, not too great an amount of starch, we find the A B D would not be necessary. If there is the tendency for the lack of these in the diet, then the A B D in moderation would be very good.
-
(Q) What should be done for the stomach condition? (A) Keep the diet well balanced and the stomach condition will adjust itself. Do not overeat, nor do not allow foods to accumulate without the proper amount of activity for the digesting of same, see?
-
(Q) How are my teeth, and should any be extracted? (A) Only local attention, as we find, is particularly needed at this time; especially if there is included plenty of calcium either in the treatments of same or in the diets - which is included specifically, of course, in the oyster plant, carrots, salsify, the jackets of Irish potatoes, and the like; and of course in the almond and filbert.
-
(Q) Any other advice for the body at this time? (A) Do these, as we find, in a consistent manner. Do not be overstepping at times and expect to adjust some other way. Follow in those suggestions, consistently - this would be the better.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/6/35 Mother [601]‘s ltr.: “[480]‘s rdg. is definite in its emphasis about the Tonicine, which she will carry out as directed. The opening sentence has me puzzled and a little worried - ‘in the immediate unlikely reactions’ - which I will appreciate to have you elucidate to me. In reading the information I know now that every word has a definite point and read same over many times until it is as clear as it can be to me…
“While there is an improvement in [480] she looks rather thin and know she has been losing weight. I was hoping that her stay at home would help her to put on some weight but I wasn’t successful. She is a little difficult at times, no doubt due to her nervous condition and a little worried I am about her when her school term begins in Feb. She has been doing review work only these past three months. Would you advise a ck. rdg. for the last wk. in Jan.? She understands her rdg. thoroughly and realizes the importance of following it to the last detail.”
R2. 1/9/35 EC’s reply: “Regarding the ‘unlikely conditions’ mentioned in [480]‘s rdg., I think this referred to changes taking place in the glands, etc., that were as passing conditions; nothing for you to be alarmed about, if the precautions are taken and the treatments kept up as suggested.”
R3. 2/2/35 Mother [601]‘s ltr.: “[480] has been having the ‘unlikely reactions,’ with a recurrence of the rash she had several months ago. This month has been a mean one for her and especially so, being under a strain taking her exams. She came home last Monday after suffering a headache from the previous Friday. She has been very careful about her diet and her treatments. She will be at home all this wk. until Feb. 10th. I am enclosing a slip with questions to be asked during [480]‘s ck. rdg… Please explain loss of weight, how to correct same. Should Ventriculin be continued? The last two doses have had ill effects, upsetting digestion. Why? She has recurrence of itchy rash on legs. Any further advice?”
R4. 2/4/35 Mother’s ltr. to GD: “I wish several questions asked but these questions and answers are not to be included in the rdg. which you will send here to me. Should the answers be favorable I will show them to [480], otherwise they shall remain my own sad secret. As you and Mr. Cayce can understand, [480]‘s condition has me terribly worried, especially this haziness which handicaps her dreadfully.
“You can type these questions and answers on a separate sheet and mail same addressed to me in care of Mrs. [646]…which will reach me. I appreciate your cooperation more than words can express…
“How long before this haziness will pass from her mind and thinking ability? Should she continue at school for the next four months until graduation? Will this haziness clear? Do you advise change of climate? Would marriage help to overcome this condition?”
R5. 2/9/35 See 480-14.
