This Psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of September, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [480], Associate Member for the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Margaret V. Carr from Washington, D.C.]
Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern War Time. Detroit, Michigan.
-
HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes - we have the body here, [480], this we have had before.
-
Conditions are somewhat bettered from those as we have had heretofore; while the anxieties of the body and the overtaxation at times cause a disturbance and a heaviness or weakness that comes through portions of the body.
-
But if there are those corrective measures that stimulate activities, by the osteopathic treatments, we find there will be the better conditions for this body. These we would adhere to. While it is not necessary that these be taken continuously, we would have such treatments when there are those tendencies for the disturbances through the body, and we will find this will keep the body in better condition.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Pain still occurs but not as often. Anything more to be done? (A) The continued adjustments, as given, and these of a stimulating nature. Then do not worry nor overtax self, but keep rather in the normal way. These are the manners that are the better.
-
(Q) Is this organic? Any ulcerated condition? (A) No; this is a reflex condition.
-
(Q) Can I take anything to give me immediate or quick relief when pain comes? (A) It is best NOT to take things, but if there is the desire for something for the MOMENT, a small dose of Sal Hepatica will relieve the disturbance.
-
(Q) Should the 9th dorsal be forced into place? (A) It should be taken a little at the time, or be done gradually, but it should be adjusted.
-
(Q) Any other suggestions for the body at this time? (A) Keep in those attitudes and activities as we have indicated oft for the body.
-
We are through with this Reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/5/43 “I hardly know where to start with all I want to tell you. Perhaps I’d better start with the book (THERE IS A RIVER). It was thrilling, reading it - first I think because we know and love its subject, and then because we feel a part of it all, in spite of the ‘tribute’ to the Detroit incident. Tom Sugrue reflects through each page the love and respect he has for you, and how I envy all the talks you must have had with him to gather the material together.
“About myself now, all through my pregnancy (with [2781]) I had this pain in the upper back and chest. The readings helped some at the time, then afterwards, you recall, I had several rdgs., each indicating osteopathic treatments and some medication. Well, after a few very severe pains which seemed to be getting worse, I had the osteopath, Dr. John H. Morrison here, to give me treatments, but it didn’t help and neither did the Sal Hepatica suggested. In fact I was so bad after treatment one night that he gave me a shot of morphine. Need I say how worried I was, because everything you had ever suggested gave me relief and help before; so [633] and I went to Rochester where they found my gall bladder full of little stones and said operation was the only thing. So I returned home and went through the operation.
“I am feeling much better, that is, no pain (of course!)! but I’m badly in need of weight and strength. I would like a Ck. Rdg. on myself. I’ll enclose some questions…
“Of course it’s been hard with strange help and two children to care for during all this, but [2781] is a ‘charmer’ and [1788] sets a very good example in every way - almost too smart for us both - he keeps [633] hopping with questions. But we love it. We are very proud of our family.”
