GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [480]; this we have had before.
-
Changes have taken place in the body since last we had same here.
-
In the present, as we find, there is that unbalanced condition that is a natural effect of the strain upon the physical functionings through the body, under the conditions through which the body has passed.
-
There needs to be a toning up, as we find, or the setting in balance of the coordinating forces through the glands, their effect upon the assimilating system, and the general chemical forces as may assist in producing or bringing a balance in these directions.
-
The disturbance from a little cold has naturally caused some inflammation in the mucous membranes of throat, and thus the fullness or stickiness that is attendant there at times, and the condition in the lower portion of the esophagus, or the upper part of the stomach itself. This tends to swell, from partly a glandular disturbance, which is a sympathetic condition but produces those tendencies for accumulations of gas and the slow assimilations - because of the lack of proper distribution of the hydrochlorics and lacteals in that portion of the body.
-
The conditions through the lower back and pelvis, the tiredness through the lower limbs, are from a glandular reaction as well as the effects produced upon kidneys and the general condition of body.
-
Now, as we find, these will bring the near to normal conditions - but DO THESE IN THE ORDER AND IN THE MANNER INDICATED, IF THERE WOULD BE THE BETTER RESULTS FROM SAME; for these should come in correct proportions at the proper time, in making changes for the body:
-
First, have a thorough relaxing treatment osteopathically; not a stimulating treatment at all. Say this is done on Thursday or Friday.
-
Then, through Saturday, Sunday and Monday take at least twice a day three drops of Atomidine, in half a glass of water, - of morning before any meal is taken, and of evening when ready to retire.
-
Have THEN another treatment osteopathically, this time STILL a RELAXING treatment; with specific directions or specific interest taken in that condition which exists in lumbar, sacral and in the 3rd and 4th cervical centers; but each of these a relaxing treatment.
-
Then, through the next Wednesday or Thursday have half a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth and six drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin stirred together in half a glass of water, of morning and of evening.
-
Then on Friday have a STIMULATING osteopathic treatment to set up drainages through alimentary canal; giving a gentle but firm kneading of the colon area.
-
Then, when these have all been taken, there should be a good eliminant, - that is, after the osteopathic treatment on Friday - the second Friday, you see. Do not take other properties of the Atomidine, nor of the digestants or absorbents, but a laxative. This as we find should be of the senna base as the active principle; preferably the syrup of figs, or Colwell’s [Caldwell’s] Syrup of Figs; and taken so as to have good eliminations from same.
-
Then begin, twice a week, with good osteopathic adjustments; one time stimulating, the next time relaxing; and have at least six or eight altogether.
-
Thus we should find much bettered conditions for this body.
-
In the diets, - keep to those things that add a great amount of the vitamins B and B-1 and iron. These should be preferably found in whole grains or the yellow foods, whether vegetables or fruits, AND calcium - which as we find may be best supplied in the water (if these foods as indicated are taken). To each gallon of water used, put a level teaspoonful of slack lime. Boil same and allow this to settle, and then filter or draw off from same - siphoned.
-
Ready for questions.
-
Do these things and be careful not to overtax the body, especially in lifting or pushing things about, or pushing things against the abdominal area.
-
These as we find make for those stresses at this particular time.
-
We are through for the present.

R2. 7/20/42 “I can’t begin to write how grateful we are for the information. I feel much better and am following the outline of treatment religiously, and I am working on [2781] with good results. These past two months have been nightmarish - difficulty with help - and having to be up all hours with [2781]. I’m really worn out. We hope to go away for a couple of wks. soon with [1788]. I’ll have a nurse come in to stay with the baby.
“I wanted to let you know about [2781] but it seems that every time we had a minute there was something to be done. She was born on 5/8th. I had a difficult time again [See 480-37 in re first pregnancy and birth; 480-51 in re difficult birth of 2nd child, etc.] and, too, the cord was wound around her neck twice. We are lucky to have her. I have in my desk a letter I started to you about 6 wks. ago.”
