-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, there continues to be the flow through the menstrual period that is of an abnormal nature.
-
Combined with the osteopathic adjustments which are being taken, we would find that the use of Ergot - under the supervision of the physician, of course - should be beneficial.
-
It it continues after the use of same, operative measures might become necessary.
-
But these applications, with plenty of rest, with those things suggested, should bring relief.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is there congestion in the left lung? (A) There is congestion in the left lung, but it is the drain more upon the whole of the blood supply that causes the great weakness.
We may break this congestion in the lung by the application of the Onion Poultice on same, front and back.
- (Q) What causes the flow to be so free or so long? (A) As indicated, this is the general disturbance in the system through the activities of the abnormal forces. Hence the use of the properties as indicated, combined with the manipulations, would be the more beneficial.
If this continues, then operative measures - if fever arises - should or would be advisable.
- (Q) Does this cause the pain in lower part of back? (A) It causes the pain, of course, through the lower dorsal and lumbar area.
Follow these suggestions.
- We are through with this Reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/10/39 Daughter [421]‘s letter: “We rec’d the rdg. and you don’t know how much we appreciate it. In some respects Mother is better, but her left side is still giving her trouble. I put the onion poultice on every night. Maybe I am not doing it right. Dr. Shackleford says there is a spot on the lung and fluid in the lower part. He hasn’t been able to get rid of that yet and says it will have to be tapped or drained. What do you think? We are trying to keep her just as quiet as we can. You know she will try to get up if she has any strength at all. Do you think the other trouble could have gone to the lung? I am worried to death about her. She goes back and forth to the doctor. He says he can treat her better there at the office.”

R2. 3/27/39 Daughter [421]‘s letter: “Mother is sick and has been now for 3 wks. She was taken with the flu and just hasn’t taken care of herself. We had Dr. Shackleford (James R. Shackleford, D.O.) with her this morning and he said for us to write you. You know she is going through the change and the flow has been for two weeks now. Dr. Shackleford said that it was too long and that he believes there is something else causing it.”
