This psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of March, 1931, in accordance with request made by his mother, grandmother, Dr. McChesney - through Mrs. Topping.

Time of Reading 3:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia.

1. GC: You will have before you the body of [4820], present in this room. You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures. You will speak distinctly at a normal rate of speech, answering the questions as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [4820]. This we have had before.

3. In some respects we find some PHYSICAL improvement in the general conditions of the body. In the SPECIFIC disorders we find little response as yet to those vibrations that should be created in the physical forces, to enliven the nerves of the sensory system, as related to the auditory system especially, and to those of the central circulatory system - in the head, throat and neck.

4. In the administrations in the present for the body, we would have those vibrations from the Wet Appliance that has been outlined, attaching the first and smaller anode at the 4th and 5th dorsal center, the negative or latter anode - or larger anode - to the umbilicus center. This, we find, will change the vibratory forces for the body, so that - as the corrections are made for those sublimations or subjugations that produce hindrances in the cerebro-spinal and sympathetic system, TO the auditory forces - these may FUNCTION the nearer normal, and will ALLOW the awakening of the auditory forces. These, we will find, will respond - will these vibrations be given, WITH the corrective measures that are being administered to the physical forces of the body. Do that.

5. We would apply the vibrations at least three times each week, see - for at least thirty to sixty minutes at each application; the first anode to the 4th and 5th dorsal center, the larger or last anode to the umbilicus center - see?

7. (Q) Please describe this battery. (A) This is the wet battery (plain), that has been outlined for application in the physical forces of the body.

R1. 9/15/40 Mother’s answer to A.R.E. Questionnaire: ”…Analysis of the reading did cover the condition as far as ‘diagnosis,’ yes. No way of knowing ‘causes.’ Both children born deaf, the girl [5485] almost totally, boy [4820] has some hearing. Physician’s analysis of this condition was prenatal deafness…” She indicated that the reading had been followed for about 2 years with no improvement whatever.

R2. 8/6/56 Letter: ”…I have just finished reading the book about your father, Mr. Edgar Cayce, and his remarkable medical diagnoses. I was and still am keenly interested in him because he took a reading of me and my sister.

“I am wondering if you can send me copies of my reading and my sister’s reading. In 1929 my grandfather took us to him to find out why we were born deaf. Your father took readings. He diagnosed our trouble. He prescribed a treatment with a wet battery. Unfortunately, the treatment failed because my grandfather died in September, 1929 and my family moved. The battery was spilled in my bedroom when I kicked the battery over so my treatment was ended too soon. I believe it helped me a lot.

“It was only 6 months ago my mother told me that she took my sister and me to your father. She misplaced the readings. I did not know anything about your father until this year. I was only 6 or 7 years old then. My mother described him and I remembered little, so does my sister. I would very much like to get copies of my and my sister’s readings, so I am enclosing a self-addressed stamped envelope for them. If there is a charge for the copies, please let me know and I will mail you by check.”

“P.S. My sister’s name is [5485]. My nickname may have been used. I did not know which name was used, so you may not have any trouble in finding our readings.”

R3. 8/9/56 Letter sent money for a copy of all 4 readings: ”…Please send me the treatments suggested by Mr. Cayce. Also indicate the dates each reading was given. My mother said that she never got the second readings. This was because her father - my grandfather - died in September, 1929 and readings were misplaced when we moved away. The second readings were made while my sister and I were in …, Va. We would love to have our complete readings…”

R5. 8/14/56 Letter: ”…Thank you very much for the 4 readings you sent me. My mother said she did not remember all of them but she remembered about the wet battery and said I would not take the treatments like Mr. Cayce suggested. She said I took the battery treatments once a week or once every two weeks, sometimes none at all. The reason for that I did not know what it was for until only last spring. I shall be very happy to send you a report on my present physical condition, also my sister’s. I was born in March 9, 1922 and my sister was born in December 22, 1919… My sister was born deaf and my mother did not know it until I was on the way. My mother said she worried herself sick about me becoming deaf before I was born. That was exactly what Mr. Cayce said during the reading for me in 1929 - [4820-1, page 1, paragraph 3]… There were no complications at any time. My present physical condition is better than it was in 1931. My hearing has improved about 30% but I wear a hearing aid - have been wearing it since 1941. It has helped me a great deal but did not improve my hearing. There is something unusual about my ears - my left ear hears anything high-pitched, and my right ear picks up normal sounds. I wear my hearing aid on my right ear. I believe my hearing is getting better all the time - slowly. I have paid several times to get my hearing restored. I did not have any complications, but I do have trouble with my sinus. My hearing is better when I take antihistamine capsules. I am going to try to do what Mr. Cayce said. I still have a hope to get my hearing restored. I do not see any harm to do the treatments again. I am going to build that wet battery and start all over again. First, I must take the treatments to open my Eustachian and antrum tubes by an osteopath because the tubes are closed and my sinus is hurt. Antihistamines help. Could you tell me who can do the job in opening up my tubes? I do not believe the doctors here will do it.

“I can build the wet battery because I have the ingredients for it. You must send me the information on how to build the battery charge. Mr. Cayce mentioned it in my sister’s reading but he did not explain how to build the charge. A diagram will help me a lot. I hope you can supply such information.”

R7. 8/29/56 Letter: ”…Thank you very much for the sketch of wet cell appliance you sent me. It looks like that I may buy one from you because the metals needed for the battery are lacking in this area, also a clock. I can get the chemicals because I am a pharmacist. The original battery that my grandfather built for me has disappeared.

“I want to visit the Foundation as soon as I can because I need more information on batteries. One thing has been plaguing me is ‘one ounce of iodine in corked bottle put in the battery’ according to my sister’s reading. I do not know whether it should be put in battery solution or in a small container according to the sketch you sent me. Perhaps we can straighten this out when I go down to pay you a visit.

“It is going to be a problem in finding an osteopath near here. The next big town near here is …, Md., and another one is …, Va. The doctors around here and near by are funny because all of them don’t care if a patient does not get well. They want the patients to keep coming back for further treatments, even for 20 years! Last winter I had so much trouble with my sinus so I took treatments from my own doctor. He made me visit him three times a week for three weeks. He charged me $100.00 and I was not improved at all, so I stopped. I used nose drops which helped me a great deal but I suffered every day for 4 months after that. I have sent in for information on sinusitis. I hope it will help me.

“I would like to see Dr. Wakefield the day I am in Virginia Beach and have him to check on my Eustachian and antrum ducts to see if they need treatments according to my readings. Could you arrange for me to see him? I do not know for sure when I can go down. I know it is going to be very expensive for me to go down to Virginia Beach for treatments. There is no other way unless Dr. Wakefield knows of someone else…”

R8. 9/6/56 He visited A.R.E. Headquarters. HLC sent him to Dr. Wakefield. HLC said he was a pitiful case, and he was wishing that his mother had followed his reading when she got it when he was only 7 years old. He said he expected to follow the reading now every step of the outline.

R9. 9/14/58 Letter: ”…I need information from your files about cancer. You will recall that I was a member of the Foundation but did not renew it because my wife’s illness forced me not to renew my membership. You see, she has cancer and in 6 months her medical bills amounted to $700.00 and they are steadily rising. I hope you can understand why I could not renew the membership.

“I am hoping that you will be able to send me everything that your father said about cancer, cause and treatment. Also on Krebiozen if he ever mentioned it. Krebiozen is a serum that promises to stop the dreaded cancer. It has been proved that it dissolves cancer nodes, but the American Medical Association does not approve it because they, AMA, prefer the Americans to discover the cure. The discoverer of Krebiozen is Hungarian. I do not think you knew this several years ago insulin was discovered by Canadian in Canada, and the AMA refused to let insulin come to U.S. because insulin was discovered by a foreigner. It took a special congress to overrule the AMA and let insulin here.

“Mr. Cayce, I would appreciate it very much if you will send me everything about cancer and Krebiozen. Let me know how much you want and I shall send you a check. I am hoping that I will renew my membership in the near future…”

R10. 9/18/58 HLC’s Letter to [4820]:

Dear Mr. [4820]

I’m sorry to have to write you that although we have indexed a good deal of material on cancer cases, we do not, at the present time, have an abstract of this data. It involves complicated treatments that so far no arrangements have been made to follow out through necessary medical facilities.

As you can understand, many of the cancer cases that came to Edgar Cayce had tried everything else and frequently had waited a long time before approaching him for a reading. In many instances, involved suggestions were made which relieved pain, but it was indicated that there was little hope. Preventative measures seemed to be more important than an actual cure after the difficulty had set in. We will eventually concentrate on the publication of data along these lines.

I am not familiar with the product you mentioned, Krebiozen.

I am taking the liberty of referring your wife’s name to our prayer group.

We miss having you as a member, and look forward to your return to that status whenever it is possible for you.
