GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the relief and improvement of same, and you will answer the questions I may ask you regarding same.
-
EC: We have the body here - we have had this before.
-
Now, we find there is much improvement in the physical forces of this body. While the body has not builded in the way of warding off those conditions that bring distress in portions of the body fully, the whole physical condition shows much improvement. The numbers of increased red blood is in itself good, for much more resistance is added in the system. The inability of the body to keep those properties from forming that breaks cell tissue and causes the temperature to rise above normal, is bad. With that stimulant as has been given this could be aided materially in being relieved entirely from the system. Were the body unable to get or obtain the brandy, then we would use that of pure corn or rye, distilled, and let same stand in a charred container at least three times the size of the quantity of the liquid. Obtain as much as a gallon or half a gallon at least. Keep tightly corked, with an inlet through which the body may inhale the fumes or the gas that forms from this distillation; for such gases are destructive to bacilli of this nature as forms in the lungs and air passages of the body. Hence this will bring better rest, bring better facilitation to the body in the way of replenishing and rebuilding throughout.
-
Rest much from physical exercise, but in evenings - not when damp or when the body would get feet wet, but in evenings well to walk, or afternoons - not when dew falling or when dampness too much, but well to walk - not tire the body too much, but enough that the body may gain more physical rest. Rest also will be found by using an electrically driven vibrator, and using same of evenings, especially on the solar plexus center, along the spine, and at base of brain - using the sponge or cup vibrator on such places - for five to ten, to fifteen, to twenty minutes each evening, see? Keep the diet and other properties much in the same way and manner as has been given. Eggs raw, and milk that is warm with animal heat, will the body assimilate same. Wild game in preference to other meats. These will build for this body. The whole system is responding. Keep same as near as possible toward rebuilding. Do that.

R1. 11/10/27 EC’s letter to [4874]:
Dear Mr. [4874]:-
Your letter came just in time for us to get your reading this morning. I am certainly in hopes the suggestions as are given will be helpful and beneficial to you, and I believe they will. It seems that you are on the improve and only need be careful and keep the body building up. I feel sure that the vibrator as is suggested to make you rest will be found very helpful. You can obtain one of these, I am sure, from some of the supply houses in Birmingham or even in Selma
- perhaps from Varnon or Cawthon-Coleman. Maybe the Alabama Power Company has them.
I don’t think I am normally a bootlegger, but apparently the suggestion is made that if you are not able to take the other treatment, if you can get a half a gallon of distilled corn this would be helpful used as an inhalant - not as a drink!
I just wish we had our place all fitted out here so that you could come here. I don’t know just how it would be at any of these other places. Possibly by the first of the year we could make such arrangements for you, as our Doctor will be on the ground by that time and will be able to look after things of that nature for us.
Be sure and let us hear from you, for you may be very sure we are anxious to see that you get entirely well.
With kindest personal regards, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

Dear Mr. Cayce
I came to Denver about the 1st of the year, as the winter came on & it got too damp in Ala. I didn’t feel good so came out here for the winter.
Mr. Cayce just before I left Ala. I ate some fresh Hog meat which affected my intestines and causes a pain there which bothers me right much if I don’t keep them cleaned out with oil & Epsom Salts about twice a week. Could you please give me a reading on this trouble and a remedy for same. A remedy that can be procured from a drug store. You will recall that I sent you
10.00 last November, as I understood from the little book you mail me that10.00 was for a years service. If I am mistaken please write, or when you reply you can say what this reading is worth.Mr. Cayce I am doing just fine with my other ailments. Denver is a good place for the summer. Have never taken your remedy yet but will if I have to go to Mexico.
Write me if you are in a position to take care of a person and if he can take the medicine you diagnose for me legally, when I leave here I may come to Virginia Beach. With all sincerity,
c/o Agnes Memorial Sanitarium, Denver, Colorado
In your reply say if there is any question you would like to know before giving the reading.
When my stomach starts paining me I feel dizzy and my head starts to swimming.

Mr. [4874] c/o Agnes Memorial Sanitarium, Denver, Colorado
Dear Mr. [4874]:-
We have yours of the 24th. We are mighty glad to hear from you again, but sorry to know it was necessary for you to return to Denver. I don’t suppose there’s any better location in the world for a person with the trouble you have had. I’m sure it would be well for us to check up on the condition since this new trouble has arisen, so we are making an appointment for the morning of the 17th. We enclose an appointment card, that you may get your hours properly, and would ask that you make a list of questions that would be asked at the time. That will possibly give you a better understanding of the condition.
I haven’t been well myself for the last two weeks or more; consequently we have been a little bit piled up with requests and a lot of work on hand. We hope the time set, though, is satisfactory, and trust that we may be of service.
Respecting the membership to the Association, etc., we are sending you the data again - that you may see just how it is set up. However, I will say that the yearly dues are
15, and it's10 for each reading that a member has. Of course if it isn’t convenient for an individual to pay all at once, why we are always glad and willing to do whatever is in keeping with the abilities of the individual. It’s not a money making scheme with us, of course, at all, it’s just trying to be of service to as many as possible, though quite often we have to give many readings for those that are not able to pay for same - which is all proper and right - we should do it - consequently have to make the rates such that will, as near as possible, take care of the actual running expenses.Hoping we may be of service, and that you will let us hear from you right away - and with kindest personal regards - I am,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce.
I just received yours of the 4th May with the card. I don’t know what the difference is in the time here & there, so to get right on it I will be in my room between 830 & 1230 A.M. May 17th. Mr. Cayce this stomach trouble I have I think would have happened to a well person or any one else. It happened just a few days after I received your last reading at Plantersville Ala. I was drinking lots of sweet milk out there in the country & the folks killed a hog & I ate a great deal of it. The sweet milk being sour, and the fresh hog meat is what upset me & have never been able to get right again. I can take mineral oil after each meal & a dose of salts once a week & it keeps the pain off, and I get along fine, as if there was nothing wrong. So I hardly think this stomach trouble originated from my other trouble. For I am doing fine. The doctors here say I only have a little trouble on the left side & will be almost well by the 1st of the year. I am on my feet & feel fine. I couldn’t do any work at home, so I came on out here to get in the high altitude & climate. I have quit coughing, result of your inhalant medicine. The doctors here found my throat & glands in good shape, but I see they doctor other patients for this throat & glands here.
I enclose my check for
5.00 Mr. Cayce, I am just asking if this5.00 & the $10.00 I sent in November will entitle me to a year Membership, or service. I can’t take the other inhalant here. I believe I have a friend in Alabama that will protect me while I use it, and will see him when I return.Mr. Cayce I have no pains in my stomach except when I happen to eat hearty. I just wanted to guard against what might happen. I thank you.
Most sincerely [4874]
c/o Agnes Mem. Sant., Denver, Colo.
I enclose some questions. Hope I will get some simple remedy for my stomach. Mr. Cayce I think I have met you once in the Odd Fellows Hall at Selma.
- Questions -
Pulse & Temperature Normal. What is the status of my original trouble? Lungs - Why did the sweet milk & fresh pork upset me & cause pain and what is the remedy? Can I not get medicine from the drug stores to relieve my stomach? Could I not do better by living in the airy woods around turpentine stills & Rosin, as for my lungs? From the condition of my lungs how long will it take to get well in Denver? How long will it take my stomach to get in shape after I use your remedy or medicine? Recommend drugs for the cure. Must I continue the diet I am on at present? Are my teeth in the right condition or will they affect my stomach? What causes my right eye to blink or jerk when my stomach is paining me? The condition of my stomach is lots better than it has been. Am much stronger than I was a month ago.

Dear Mr. Cayce.
I wrote you yesterday & enclose card & some questions. I just wanted to ask you, after you make the reading to please copy the remedy on a piece of extra paper in order that I may use it like a prescription with out taking the entire reading to the druggist. Am feeling very well today. Sorry you have been unwell and trust you have entirely recovered.
Kind regards [4874] Agnes Memo. Sant. Denver, Colo.
