This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 20th day of January, 1925, in accordance with request made by Madison Byron Wyrick.

Time of Reading Bosque County, 4:15 P. M. Dayton Time. Texas.

1. GC: Now you have before you the well being drilled on the land of Madison Byron Wyrick, in Bosque County, Texas. You will give us the condition of operations at the present time, also telling us the best method of removing the drill bit that is lost in the well. You will also answer questions relative to this that I will ask you.

2. EC: Yes, we have the conditions here. Many of these we have had before. The operations, as we find, are held up rather from weather conditions than from others.

3. The best method, as we find, for removing drill bits from well would be using the slip socket, reaming inside to such an extent that same slips over the shank, as well as the end on drill bit.

4. We find this of the unusual conditions, on account of the manner in which bit was lost from stem. This, however, in its present condition, leaning to the South and West will be removed, and the operations may proceed, for we find in this twenty-one 4162 depths, that of the formation showing more and more the indications of the production that will be encountered in 4242. Remove bits from ANY well in that manner.

5. (Q) How long will it take to remove these bits? (A) When the weather conditions permit the safe running, for we have had some conditions with operators - health, see? - from the weather conditions. Also troubles with pipes to the steam and water lines.

6. (Q) After beginning work to remove these, how long will it take? (A) When they catch the bit, then remove it. How long? This could not be given from any condition, save when actual fishing was being done.

7. (Q) Is there any chemical means of dissolving and removing the bits that would be more expedient than mechanical methods? (A) The bits might be dissolved in the manner that would be easier to drill past; yet with the use of same, the stem and lines and thimbles so become involved that this proves dangerous methods, except as last resorts; for with nitro, or with sulfuric, we would find each would endanger the nipple line and stem, as well as untemper bits in such drilling, making such operations hazardous and expensive. The operator here understands these conditions.

We would follow closer in that undertaking. This will be carried through. The conditions are on the improve - right now.

8. (Q) Is there any other information to help to the success? (A) Be diligent, yet with care. Haste often makes waste.

Dear Mr. Wyrick:-

Your letter came just about the time we arrived home this morning. I’m certainly sorry to know that they’ve been having some trouble at the well, but it seems everything will be cleared up soon. When weather clears up, they can go right ahead, and I’m sure its keeping us all on the anxious seat. I just hope though they don’t get too anxious and do something that they should not. I’m in hopes you’ve had word before this that they’ve gotten hold of the bit and gotten it out.

Be sure and let me know how things go, for you know that I’m as anxious about this as anyone possibly could be.

We arrived, as I said, this morning. All pretty well worn out, for it has been rather a hard week. Conditions are just in that way, as I explained to you the day you were there. I’m in hopes that the first time he is here that you will have the time and opportunity to make it to Dayton at the same time.

No new developments, or nothing new going on. I’m certainly in hopes that you’re feeling a great deal better. Have gotten your first prescription filled correctly, and that you are feeling results from it already.
