This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 18th day of July, 1925, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading Bosque County, 11:30 A. M. - Dayton Savings Time. Texas.
-
GC: You will give us the condition of operations at the present time and those surrounding same. You will answer the questions regarding these as I ask them.
-
EC: Yes, we have the operations here. Now, we find there is little change in condition as was last seen here, for the operations will go on in the form, the way, the manner, as has been given. The cleansing of the hole from the cavings as have accrued, the finding of more indications of the production, the drilling in the lime asphaltum and the hard formations will, through the 17 - 37 feet bring the production. That is, the caves amount to the difference between 17 and 34. These be drilled up then through this. We find with 30 hours of drilling, these should bring the production. Thirty-six (36) to the depth.
-
(Q) What is the present depth to which they have drilled? (A) Less that as given.
-
(Q) What is the formation? (A) This we find rather cavings of shale and of black and gray lime. The drilling in will be in the heavy black, with asphaltum sluffing in the shale.
-
(Q) At what date may they expect production? (A) When they have had 30 hours of drilling on making hole.
-
(Q) Does that mean after they have drilled up the cavings? (A) That means after they have drilled up the cavings and taken those out. That means making new hole.
-
(Q) Are there any conditions of which the operators should be warned? (A) None other than as has been given heretofore. We will find success in this by carrying out the instructions as given.
-
(Q) When the hole has been cleaned to the depth to which they have already drilled, how many feet will they have to drill to reach production. (A) This has been given. We are through.

R1. 7/18/25 EC’s ltr. to Mr. Wyrick:
My dear Mr. Wyrick:-
Your wire was received yesterday afternoon, and I’m enclosing you a copy of what was gotten this morning. I also received your note yesterday [4905-33]. I don’t understand just how this was gotten, but the indications are from this that we certainly should be expecting some results from the operations now soon. I have felt very anxious about this, especially in the last few days. I don’t know but for some reason I have inwardly been feeling that at most any hour we would have a report that we had a producing well. Whether this had anything to do with what was gotten Saturday or not, I don’t know [4905-33]. It must have. But I surely do hope you will have good news soon. I thank you for your letter and for letting me hear from you. I am,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

R8. 7/17/25 Excerpt:
The following except was taken from “The Meridian Tribune” dated Meridian, Texas Friday, July 17, 1925.
TELEGRAM WELL NOW OVER MILE DEEP.
The Telegram Oil Company’s test well near Kopperl is now at the 5600 foot level in a lime formation, and preparations are being made to drill deeper in search of oil. The drilling has been placed in charge of an experienced deep-hole driller. The hole is one of the deepest in the United States, and although the pay sand has not been struck, those in charge are still optimistic over the probable outcome of the test. A complete set of new tools has been secured, and the hole cleared of all obstructions, ready for the more-than-a-mile long drill line which is now necessary to drill farther.

R12. 7/22/25 EC’s ltr. to Mr. Wyrick:
Dear Mr. Wyrick:-
Certainly want to thank you for the information sent me the 20th. I’m in hopes they’re having no more trouble and that things are going along alright. They certainly ought to be getting some results. How much of a showing are they getting? I suppose this must be from some of the formations through which they have been passing a little higher up, but it certainly makes good indications, if they’re going into anything like a good-looking sand, as was indicated in last report. You know we’re always anxious to hear.
With kindest personal regards,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
