This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 10th day of August, 1925, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

1. GC: You will give the present depth, the formation, and just where they would locate the oil. You will also tell us at what depth the formation is through which they have already passed that that the seepage of oil is coming from. You will give us a positive location of the oil, telling us why they have not gotten production in paying quantities at the depths that you have formerly given in readings.

2. EC: The well or the depth to which this has been drilled at present at fifty-eight fifty-six - 5 - 8 - 5 - 6, see? This as we see, is again in that stratum from which through same the production should come in the open hole. This would require, then, drilling into same seventeen feet. The production and the gas in same should be in this depth, the required amount to bring this production in paying quantities. The stratum from which the seepage is showing at present, where shows in the cuttings and slush from well, is in the fifty-four fifty-one (5451). The reasons why this has not been producing in those places where production should be reached in that depth given is from the location of the hole in the stratum as through which this has been passing, for, as given, there is the production on the two sides, and many stratas, from the twenty-nine thirty-nine (2939) to the fifty-eight seventy-two (5872), show the producing area in the producing strata. The operations will prove the success in the end. Keep those as have been given, and without reaching same before abandoning same, bring production from those areas through which the faultings is in this vicinity, in the changes as have come, will bring production in this operation, see?

R1. 8/11/25 EC’s letter to M. B. Wyrick:

My dear Mr. Wyrick:-

As you will see, the reading on well was gotten last evening. We had delayed this, as I said before, hoping that you might be present when we undertook this. I tried to formulate in the suggestion given all of the questions as were suggested in your letter. I’m in hopes that this will work out alright. I am at a loss to understand it, for it apparently still insists that the production is there and always insisting just a little bit farther you would find it. As you will see, we tried to find why this had not proven as given. While it doesn’t beggar the question exactly, I do not know that the explanation would be satisfactory, unless we were to presuppose something of the condition that you suggest in your letter. That is, that the location is on a structure that the greater part is of a vertical nature. In that case, it seems that it would be quite probable that we would be able to have production by placing a shot. Still, the reading has insisted that this not be done. Now, whether this suggestion is from the pre-conceived ideas of my own experience or not, it would be hard to say, but I’m certainly very much in hopes that we will be successful in making this a producing well. I certainly appreciate the faith and confidence that you and your associates have had in the information that I have tried to give, and the failure of same certainly hurts a great deal more than I’ll ever know how to make one understand. In fact, it sometimes is so much that it makes me feel doubtful about some of the greater work that we try to do. Still, there are so many wonderful expressions of good that is being done through the physical readings, that it often makes me come up to almost a wall of

• I don’t know.

For instance, we have had quite a group of readings lately for people associated with the Jos. R. Nelson Company there in Chicago [Mr. [4621] and family?]. Just who these people are I don’t know, but it seems that some four or five of these have gotten wonderful results with the suggestions given.

We have had recently quite a bit of information regarding a battery, or a contrivance. Seemingly, from what others say, is something of the nature of the Abrahams [Abrams?] of electronic vibrations for the body. However, in this, apparently, it does not follow that as ordinarily understood of the Abrahams treatment, but goes on the theory that there are certain vibrations that may be added to a body that would EQUALIZE or produce an equilibrium in the system that would assist many ailments of the human body. It is also carrying the theory that certain medicinal properties, for various conditions where functioning organs are involved, may be added through this same electronic or vibratory force and bring results much quicker. These, then, of course cover quite a field of treatments. We have tried out some of the simpler forms, with excellent results. I had hoped that your coming down we would be able to talk this over with a good friend of mine here [Thos. B. Brown?], who is very much interested in this, for I know that your studies on your own condition, and your various associations with different ones of the various medical field, then your knowledge of electrical forces, especially as pertain to the human body, you might have been able to offer some suggestion to this man that would be good. I hope yet you will have the opportunity to get down.

As you know, I suppose, from our conversation when I saw you in New York, Blumenthal has been considering helping me get located at Virginia Beach, where the readings have so often suggested was the place to work from. We expect, possibly, to go to Virginia to look the field over the latter part of this week. I had hoped also that I would see you before I went down, that we might talk the prospects over.

Referring again to this battery appliance, it looks like, from the readings that we have had on same [[1800] series], (and I’m sending you copies of two of them) that this might be made in a commercial way. What do you think of it? We are also, as you know, considering commercializing the formula for pyorrhea [[1800] series]. If these two things would hold up, with the results that they have gotten so far, these two things certainly would be a boom [boon?] to suffering humanity along certain lines and should prove a money making proposition for all associated with it.
