This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of September, 1925, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

Time of Reading Bosque County, 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Texas.

1. GC: You will have before you the well being drilled on the lands of Madison Byron Wyrick in Bosque County, Texas. You will give information as regarding the operations at the present time, advise if the work is being done properly and any other information necessary to insure the success of these operations.

2. EC: Yes, we have the operations here. There have been many changes about the operations since last we had same here. The work as is being conducted about the operations at present is very good, and while we will find some conditions that will prove rather aggravating at times, for with the water as has been standing in the open hole, we find that the cavings will cause some troubles. These will be removed though. Be careful with the baling and we will find when the waters and cavings have been removed that the formations in which the drilling was stopped is producing more oil and stronger pressures of gas and that when the present formation of seventeen feet have been drilled through, the gas pressure will be increased to where this will produce oil and gas in large commercial quantities, see? This then will need the care and attention, especially in view of the same conditions as caused the troubles before. Then WATCH as well as work, see? for this we find will produce in very large quantities, increasing when the flow begins, see? Then we only need be careful with the operations, for the greater troubles will be from the cavings. As to when this would produce, would be when this is cleaned, see, and drilling has proceeded to the depth. As to how long this would take, depending upon how the operations in clearing water and cavings, how long that takes and the troubles experienced with same, for the crown block, or pulley block on which the baler runs, should be kept perfectly oiled - well to keep more than one of same on hand, see?

Dear Mr. Wyrick:

Glad to get yours of the 1st and to know you passed the mile stone date still in good health.

We were using a part of the burned cable. It broke just below the clamps and went into the hole, got it out, but looks like every few feet it kinked so can’t use it any more. We got only 3000 feet new drill cable and 1500 sand line. The sand line seems to hold good for Pat has not put on the 1500 ft. new yet - so you see having to wait for the new 3500 feet drill cable before we can run tools. Think the old cable would have held pretty good if a lot of cavings had not fell in on top of tools that jerked the line into, looks like a good line, but at the ends of the spool or shaft where it got so hot burned the core out of it.

The engine we got from Sitton (Grandberg) looked like a good one, but got bad. He came and put new rings in it and is a lot better. Now if it fails any more Rhome has agreed to let us have theirs. It is the same as our old one Bavard & S - you see he would not agree to this until they failed with the shallow sand. I told him I would pay rent if he would not sell it.

I had 810.00 in bank. Have a car fuel oil ordered which will be about 350.00, payroll 400.00 and new cable 612.50. There were a lot more small things we had to buy than we had figured on.

I think there is some gas coming out of the hole. We started yesterday morning bailing finally found about 1200 to 1250 feet water in hole. Can’t tell exactly. 1300 feet off bottom bailer came out empty, at 1200 it got water. They got out about 20 bailers. There were a lot of gas blubbers and Pat is sure careful. The new man seems to be a good one, but as the engine was so bad he had no chance to do anything. They did not run today, but start up at midnight and try to get water and soon as cable gets here can start drill. Saw McConnell - sends kindest regards.

Pat is a little nervous and warned Mr. Leach to be on his guard for what may happen.

There is a rainbow of oil on the water being bailed out and the gas bubbles look as tho we may be about down to the real pool. We are all hoping we are right at it.

The pictures are good - sorry I failed to get good ones. I used the same kodak that Creacy used. We could not get films for yours and at the time I didn’t know Creacy’s were bad. By the way, Moran and Morgan would like two or three of them.

Will be glad to see LaBryn. He is a good old boy and how much good it will do him to be here when she comes in.

Try to get some soft nose bullets for your new Jack Rabbit gun so the bullet won’t go thru without making a big hole.

I would have enjoyed being there with Allen and Lyman for lunch.

Folks have gone to Mr. Marrow’s so I am all alone today.

My Dear Mr. Wyrick:-

Yours of the 7th to hand, and certainly thank you very much for sending me the report as you have. This is certainly fine of you and I appreciate it. Seems like they’re going along alright, though of course have been having their troubles, which we had expected. I’m certainly pleased to note that Moran is still enthusiastic over the prospect and am glad to know that Mr. LaBryn is on the job. I am sure it’s a great experience for him and that everyone there enjoys having him. I sure do wish it were possible for me to be there for the next two weeks! for I just feel it’s going to happen.

Of course, we haven’t gotten far enough along yet to know just how we’re going to be pleased with everything here. It’s something like it would be, I suppose, in most any place, if some few things were just a little bit different, I know this would be a wonderful place to live, but I guess that this will come around alright and everything will work out, if we’ll just try, work and pray in the right way, and things will happen after awhile. I know one thing, this place is going to be on an awful boom, if they have another good season here, for they are building two big hotels here now, as well as adding to some of the others, and lands are on the boom. One or two different New York syndicates in here. If this is the place, I certainly hope we can get a hold.

I certainly trust that you are feeling good yourself and that things are running along nicely with you. We’ve had quite a time getting straightened out, and it’s some expense to get set in new surroundings, new conditions, new people, new customs, and a whole lot bigger house than we’ve ever been living in. Now, whatever may be the outcome of things, I’m in hopes you’re going to have some vacation next summer, whether you have forty oil wells to look after, or what, I want you to set down on your calendar right now that you’re going to spend a week or two weeks with Cayce in Virginia Beach next summer, and we’re all going to look for you!
