This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of March, 1926, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

Time of Reading 6:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Bosque County, Texas.

1. GC: You will give us any information concerning same that will assist in making this the success as has often been given, tell us whether it will be necessary to run a string of casing, that they may finish this lime, and any other information that will insure the success of these operations.

2. EC: Yes, we have the well, the operations here. Now, we find, while the cavings have been bad, and the necessity of drilling up portions of same has caused delays, we do not find it would be necessary to set casing for the completion of this operation, or until production is shown in the operation. THOUGH, the string of casing SET, this would insure the quicker completion of same, for this would of necessity only be run, and then this would prevent further troubles; would also enable the operations to pass the obstructions that have hindered the operations, see? yet we find that the cavings have been cleaned or cleared now to where the operation may be carried on in a more satisfactory manner, without much trouble from further cavings, and that as soon as cemented, this may be then drilled through without further trouble. The running of casing, which may be done, would insure the operations being completed SOONER, and no TROUBLE encountered, or ensuing, when the gas and oil BEGINS, which will, of course, bring more cavings in the operations, under the existent conditions, see?

3. Then, this must be decided through the way that the principals may decide to operate, see? though, were the string of casing, or tools, used, would show that the tools would run easy, level - 6,000 feet - 6000 - 8000 - about $7000 to set the string of casing - though may be used again, and would insure the success of the operations, see?

4. We find the oil will be found here, only with a few more feet through the LOWER PORTION of where hole HAS BEEN OPENED. See, there are 30 feet of caving at present.

5. We are through for the present.

R1. 3/16/26 EC’s letter to M. B. Wyrick:

My dear Mr. Wyrick:-

Glad to have yours of the 10th. Sorry to know though that you are not feeling good, and that things are not progressing much at the well. I’m enclosing you, herewith, the readings as were gotten this afternoon, and I’m certainly in hopes that they may both prove of a great deal of help. Be sure and let us hear from you from time to time, or whenever you have the opportunity, for you know we are always anxious to hear, and always appreciate even a line from you.

I want to thank you again for the booklets. We are preparing to send them out, and hope we can put them where that they will do us a great deal of good. We are keeping fairly busy, though don’t have a great deal of return from the work, so far. Many make us promises, both I’m sure we are getting some results, from what they say of same from time to time. Some, of course, I know do the very best they can; others I feel could be stimulated by a little more activity on our part.

I’m glad to say we are all fairly well here. In fact I believe the whole family now are in better health than they have been for some time. We certainly find ourselves in the midst of a big activity - in real estate and building. It promises to be a very live place here for the coming season, and I believe, from the buildings that are under construction, this is more of a permanent operation than thought to be possible here for a good long while. It would seem apparent that the readings were correct, when they said this was the place. I’m sure, if I had been able to invest a few hundred dollars here, when it first told me to come here, it would have made sufficient to have done most anything with now. One man who invested five hundred dollars in 1914 closed out PART of his holdings for two hundred and thirty thousand dollars! And still has a piece of property they say is worth about nine hundred dollars a foot, and the WHOLE thing cost him five hundred dollars in 1914!

I certainly am in hopes that the suggestions here for yourself will prove effective and that right away. Be sure and let us hear from you, that we may check up on this, even though it’s every week or two, for we want to get you good and well. With kindest personal regards from all,

R2. 3/18/26 George LaBryn’s letter to EC:

The well is progressing very slowly. Graner was down to the well to drop cement in the hole, but he decided that owing to so much earth caving in hole, it would not be feasible to use cement, and came to the conclusion that the only logical thing to do would be to run a string of casing; but where can we raise ten thousand dollars to purchase casing? At present they are drilling by the side of pump and passed it in the hopes that it will not slide in the new hole. It would be nice if you could surprise Mr. Wyrick with a reading telling him how the bailer is laying in the hole, what angle? Whether it is stuck in a muck that will hold it so that we may continue drilling without fear of losing the drill after we pass the bailer, or any other suggestion that will aid us in finishing the drilling, and get our reward.

The oil is under the lime, and we must get it soon; cash running low and hard to get.

How are you getting on - all well I hope. Note enclosed I think you will find Collier interesting - may help you answer some of the perplexing problems that come to your conscious mind. No report from well for five days. Trying drill by obstructions. I will hope for a good reading on the well - on that will point the way for us ignorant mortals.

Mr. Robert Collier, Fifth Avenue & 48th Street, New York City, N.Y.

My dear Sir:-

I have received “The Book of Life” in seven volumes which I have read many times, and I appreciate very much the clearness with which you have handled this somewhat mystifying subject. I have from necessity studied somewhat along this line for the past few years in an endeavor to improve my health and continue my existence, as I have been afflicted with diabetes for several years. The greatest relief I have had has been from a friend who is highly developed (I will say, in obtaining knowledge from the universal mind and passing it to others in the manner of a thorough diagnosis of the physical organisms of the body).

I am taking the liberty to enclose herewith this small pamphlet recently published, which gives a meagre outline of his life and the good he is able to do for others. I think that you will find this interesting, and that you would enjoy the acquaintance of this man by personal contact. You will find that he is very highly developed in reaching through to the universal mind, but he is modest and truthful, with no evidence of faking whatever. I think he would be very much benefited by reading your “Book of Life”, and I ask that you mail to his address the seven volumes, for which I am enclosing check. Please mail the books to Mr. Edgar Cayce, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia.

R5. 3/22/26 Robert Collier’s letter to Mr. Wyrick:

Dear Mr. Wyrick:-

Thank you for your good letter of the 18th with check enclosed in full payment for a set of “The Book of Life” to Mr. Edgar Cayce. The books have gone forward today.

I read his little booklet with a great deal of interest, for I can readily believe the possibilities of such work as he is doing. His experience reminds me of a similar character in one of Richard Harding Davis’ stories. This character was able to use his subconscious mind in much the same way, as long as he was doing it for others. But the moment he did it for any selfish purpose, he lost the power.

Now for your own problem, Mr. Wyrick. Have you ever cut your finger? Who was it coagulated the blood, stopped the gash, wove new skin? Who was it called upon the little phagocytes to come and kill the septic germs? Not your conscious mind, certainly. Most people don’t even know there are “any such animals”. Their conscious minds don’t know the first thing about healing. Whence comes the information? Whence the directing genius? Where but from the same intelligence that keeps your heart and lungs on the job while you sleep, that regulates your liver and your kidneys, that attends to all the functions of your body.

The intelligence is your subconscious mind. With the proper cooperation on your part, your subconscious mind will attend to these duties indefinitely, keeping your every organ perfect, your every function regular as clock work.

But it is exceedingly amenable to suggestion. Worry about sickness or contagion, hold before it the thought that you are getting old, or that some organ is becoming feeble, and it will be perfectly agreeable to bringing about the condition you suggest. But convince it that there is no danger from contagion, hold before it the thought of health and strength, and it will be just as prompt in manifesting them.

So what you must realize is this: Before anything can be made, there has to be a model for it in Mind. Before a house can be built, there has to be a plan, a blueprint from which to build.

Before you were created Universal Mind held in thought the model on which you were made. That Model was perfect then. It is perfect now. The only idea of you that Universal Mind knows is a perfect model, where every organism is formed along perfect lines.

Your body is changing every moment, Mr. Wyrick. Every cell, every organism, is constantly being rebuilt. Why remodel along the old imperfect lines? Why not build along the lines held in the thought of Universal Mind. You CAN do it. But the essence of it is in words of the Master: “Whatsoever you desire when you pray. BELIEVE that ye Receive it, and ye SHALL HAVE it.”

Mind you, He didn’t say “believe you are GOING to get it.” He said - “believe that you RECEIVE it.” Know that the R E A L you - the image of you held in subconscious mind - is PERFECT. Believe that you H A V E this perfect image. On the day that you can carry this sincere conviction to your subconscious mind - on THAT day you will be healed.

I am enclosing herewith a copy of a booklet that will, I believe, help you.

R6. 3/22/26 G. C. Martin’s letter to Mr. Wyrick:

TELEGRAM OIL COMPANY - Morgan Texas

Dear Mr. Wyrick:-

I thank you for the favor of 19th. I want to tell you that on Monday 15th, I sent you a message from Kopperl saying that “Pat is doing good.” When I got back to the well it had started caving so I had nothing to tell you. This kept the boys off the bottom from 20 to 30 ft. until Thursday night when it seemed to quit. Saturday the hole seemed to be clear of caving and to day finds it still clear. So see the reading 16th.

Pat had the three wing [?] down on top of the pump trying to get the top of the plunger to show inside it.

Now if cavings will only stay out we will do something. We had a bad washing rain Saturday night, caused bad roads again.

No I did not tip Cayce off for I have had no communications with Cayce since starting this well. So no one can say I did tip him. Tho he hits things just right in this reading.

You are the only human that I send anything on the well to. So if the dope goes out it’s thru some other way.

Pat thinks he can finish the well sometime somehow with out casing, tho may take a long time, then it may be soon. He is just as positive of the formation as he has ever been. Come soon as you can for the country looks fine since so much fine rain.

My Dear Cayce:-

Enclosing herewith a copy of my letter just received from Collier. Note that he has mailed you a set of his “Book of Life”. Hope it may prove interesting to you.

I have felt that it might be to your mutual advantage to become acquainted. Hope so anyway.

Received a note from Martin today. They are not making progress at the well. We must try something different so as to get by the lost bailer, if we are ever to finish to production. Hope you will be able to help us to a material solution of the problem in your next reading.

Dear Cayce

The inclosed is all the report have had since the reading you gave on 16 March - Pat is very optimistic of removing obstruction and of ultimate production - hope you will tell us just how its to be done finance and physical operation in one of your readings soon.

Did you receive the book from Collier I wrote you about last week.

Hope you and family are well. Also Miss Davis. Ask her to not forget me and that I appreciate captions occasionally of good readings - especially that information that comes with life readings in the ancient Egyptian age.

R9. 3/28/26 EC’s letter to Mr. Wyrick:

My dear Mr. Wyrick:

I had your note of the 18th, with the copy of the letter you wrote to Mr. Collier. I certainly want to thank you for your thoughtfulness, and I assure you I appreciate your having him send me his books. I haven’t received them as yet but am sure I will in due time.

I’m enclosing you a copy of the letter that I think will be interesting to you [3/22/26 letter of Mrs. [4329], praising the little booklet.]. In sending these little pamphlets out, I had wondered just how it would impress a person whom I had never met, and only having seen perhaps a reading on an individual. Knowing that this lady was rather well educated, having been a teacher a number of years in the Cleveland, Ohio, school, I asked that she give me her opinion on same.

We are getting a reading on the well to-morrow. I certainly am in hopes that conditions are more satisfactory than they have been for some time, and that they will soon show desired results. I trust you are feeling good yourself, and with kindest personal regards from all,
