This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of March, 1926, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

Time of Reading 4:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Bosque County, Texas.

1. GC: You will have before you the well being drilled on the lands of Madison Byron Wyrick, in Bosque Co., Texas. You will tell us condition of operations at the present time. You will give us any information that will assist in financing the operations and in the work on the well itself, that will insure the success of same, and you will answer any questions that may be asked you regarding this.

2. EC: Yes, we have the well, the operations here. We have had this before, you see.

3. Now, as to the success of the operations, from the standpoint of the work itself, we find that everyone should be very optimistic about same at the present time, for we find that soon there will be no obstruction in the way of the drilling operations, and that in a very few feet the formations will show that the producing area is reached, and the bringing in of same will then be assured, for while much time, patience and money has been expended in fighting the cavings, and the conditions have been unfavorable in a manner; yet these now are soon to be past, for, as we see, sufficient of the cavings are removed that they now begin to make hole in the formation, about and below the bottom of the hole as once reached. In the removal of the obstruction, by the drilling by or removing either; though, as we find, this NOW may be pushed to the side, with this drilling, or taken out. In either case, this will be overcome.

4. As to the financing of the operations:

5. We find there are many that are still interested in the operations, and willing to contribute, still, all possible to the completion of this hole. Each that are associated should know that it is NOT sending good money after bad to keep putting money in the hole at the present time. There are others associated with those so interested in this operation, in St. Louis, in place close to Chicago, and in New York and in Cleveland, that will still assist, were they approached on same. Each that are interested should be willing to ask. “Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened.” Ask for the money. Keep hammering, and it will open this well. See? Ready for the questions.

6. (Q) Would it be best to remove the pump or drill by same? (A) This, as we see, depends upon the conditions as arise. The conditions in the well at present are that the indication would be best that this be drilled by, rather than to attempt the removal and causing more cavings in the well, for the pump is now straight sufficient so that the drilling would go obliquely by same.

7. (Q) Considering conditions about when may they expect to reach production? (A) In 15 to 20 days of operations. By the 15th of April, see?

8. (Q) Are there any conditions of which the operators in any way should be warned, regarding the operations or tools? (A) None we find at the PRESENT time.

9. (Q) Any further information that would be of assistance to the operators? (A) There may much be said. This should be sufficient at the present time. We are through, then, for the present.

My dear Mr. Wyrick:-

I have yours of the 27th. I promised to write you when I had the better opportunity, for I wanted to get the reading as was gotten Monday off at once. I would judge from the reading that conditions were on the improve at the well, but notice from your letter of the 27th that they don’t seem to be, but I’m in hopes the difference in the time will account for the difference in the information as was given. I would like very much for you to, right away, make up a list of questions, and let’s try it on the questions again. I certainly appreciate your sending me Mr. Martin’s letter, for of course such things are bound to make a fellow feel better, even though it doesn’t seem to be working out as fast as we feel like it should. Perhaps it is as Mr. Crews said the other day; “It would be a good thing if we could find out who’s the Jonah.”

Yes, I received the books yesterday from Mr. Collier, and have read perhaps half of them already. It’s surprising to me, to all of us, to read them, for there is so very much of it sounds so very much like so many of the readings. As the boy said, it is really bewildering. I appreciate, too, your sending me his letter. I’d like to get in touch with him personally, if I might. I wrote him, thanking him for his promptness. Perhaps I may hear again.

I, myself, have been very much under the weather for the last few days, and am about “all in” today. It doesn’t sound good for one trying to do what I am, but nevertheless, such things happen. I’m in hopes though I’ll be able to get hold of myself and be as good as new in a few days. We have had a few people in for Life Readings from Norfolk an adjoining vicinity. The peculiar thing about it, we find that everyone that has been in was born in North Carolina, and practically everyone of them in their appearance before this was in the early settlement of this country. That has impressed us as being rather extraordinary. I’m sure Miss Gladys will be glad to write you off any of these that we feel like would be especially interesting to you, especially of the Egyptian history. We have certainly had some very wonderful and extraordinary good letters from various people over the country. One of the most extraordinary conditions, I believe, is from Missouri. A lady [Mrs. [5700]] whom we gave the first reading for, perhaps three years ago, for nearly two years they were preparing for an operation (I mean the readings were preparing her). When she finally went to the hospital, she showed the doctor all of the readings that had been given on her during the whole time, so AFTER the operation the doctor in charge asked that another be given. Now, others in that vicinity, that we have given the physical readings for, the doctors are asking that they come to the hospital, where they may observe the results, free of charge to the patient. They want to see what the outcome will be. This is slow, but it’s getting somewhere. It may never be worth anything directly to me, but I’m in hopes will be worth a great deal to the future generation. Things have not been going the best in the world, to getting the things started here, but I’m in hopes when we can get started to sending these pamphlets out, should they impress people in the manner as they did that lady, a copy of the letter I sent you, I hope we will be able to do better; provided we don’t get pushed out by the rush that is very apt to start here by the 15th of May.

I certainly appreciate all you and the rest in that office have done for me, and for others who have come under your observation. As you no doubt already know, we got another reading on the well a few days ago, which sounded mighty good. I’m in hopes that it is more in keeping with the reports that you have recently gotten from the well than the last ones that Mr. Wyrick sent me. As I suggested to Mr. Wyrick, I wish you good people would get together and get a list of questions on the well, or the information that has been given, and let’s see what we can do. You know it’s mighty hard for me to know what to ask, when I know absolutely nothing about what’s going on (even though Mr. Wyrick and Mr. Martin accuse each other of informing me), and my wife, knowing absolutely nothing about such things, has very little idea of just what to ask, for I would surely love to be of help, if at all possible.

My dear Cayce:-

We received the reading of March 29th, which was very encouraging. I just heard from Martin. They are trying to drill by the obstruction, but find the tools are giving considerable trouble on account of hanging which they think is caused by lodged bailer. You might find out just what the cause is and if it is practical to go on the way they are operating. Our drillers and Mr. Martin have about decided they will have to run a string of casing all the way before they will be successful in drilling thru the lime. This will be expensive and I would like to avoid it if possible. I would like to know positively about this.

I have just received a copy of Life Rdg. for Miss [2486] (?) sent by Miss Gladys on April 3rd for which I thank her very much. I am getting ready for a conference in New York and will be there all next week. If I find it possible, will run down to see you, but cannot promise for sure.
