This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 23rd day of April, 1924.

1. EC: We have in a large hall a lecturer, Carter David, on archaeology. There enters this auditorium a group of society peoples. Among them is Rena Lowe, who with her fiancee has been especially interested in the findings of this archaeologist. They, this group, listen to the lecturer with interest; he, the lecturer, showing many of the findings.

2. Again in the home, the same evening, a the discussion turns to the discoveries that might be found in South America. There is a discussion of the Temples of Incal in the Peruvian Cordilleras; and Tom Stone, Rena’s fiancee, discusses with her the possibility of a group going on an expedition to that country.

3. The boat of one of the party is fitted out and the party of men are to go. Rena decides that she will also go, as she has a brother who is in the Consulate Service in that country and who has often written regarding the conditions and of the many legends of the people in that country.

B2. Background for 4908-1 through 4908-7 series according to GD’s recollection:

Mr. Thomas B. Brown of Dayton, Ohio approached EC re. writing a scenario for his friend Gloria Swanson who was having difficulty finding a story that suited her. After several discussions of the possibilities, EC decided to try it.

As in the [3744] series, no attempt was made to keep each reading separate but GD’s notes were transcribed straight along in a manuscript, with the date of the reading preceding each section which was obtained on that date.

Sometimes Linden Shroyer conducted the reading, sometimes Mrs. Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce was present at some of the readings, Mr. Brown at some and, of course, GD acted as stenographer for all of them.

Mr. Brown was given a copy of the manuscript when completed and he was supposed to send it to, or to discuss it with, Gloria Swanson. I do not know any details of what took place. We do know that a movie was never made, at least not with Gloria Swanson starring in it.

The material was edited and re-edited and shown to various people from time to time.
