1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5089].

3. As we find, there are conditions that have been disturbing to the body, and these as we find may be materially aided.

4. These, then, are conditions as we find in this, [5089], we are speaking of.

5. In some times back, through a state of anxiety in the body, there were brought about infectious changes or strep in the blood supply from congestion, but it had much to do with the imaginative or sympathetic nervous system.

6. This, with this disturbance, upset the glandular system, and these have brought about disorders as related to the superficial and the deeper circulation in the extremities; that is, the blood flowing away from, but slow in returning, and thus we find those impulses from the lumbar and sacral areas being suppressed in their activity, and resulting in the tendency of veins being enlarged and the superficial circulation filled or swollen. These, as we find, are the nature of disturbances with this body.

7. As we find, we would have a course of hydrotherapy treatments with short-wave and ultra-violet; using the green glass projected between the light and the body. Thus we would gain strength and rid the body of the tendency and break up, by the short-wave, the vibrations which cause through the blood stream, liver, spleen and their activity, the strep sources; for these must be eliminated.

8. The hydrotherapy treatments should include a mild sweat or fume bath with witch-hazel, and then massages.

9. At least once or twice a week in the beginning, we would have the short-wave, this to control the activity of the liver, not too much or too strenuous for the heart’s activity.

10. During the rubs we should have those corrections in the lumbar and sacral areas.

11. Thus we will bring much better conditions for this body.

13. (Q) Since the strep infections my eyes have been getting steadily worse. How can this condition be abated? (A) Use the head and neck exercise consistently daily, morning and evening, and with the rest we will find strengthening affects for the eyes.

14. (Q) Should the short-wave and fume baths both be twice a week? [GC’s question for clarification] (A) In the beginning yes, but the last three or four treatments may be once a week. All of these should be taken along together, see? The short-wave, fume baths, massage; then the ultra-violet, and during those massages there should be made the corrections in the lumbar and sacral areas. If there continues to be a great deal of trouble with the phlebitis or the swelling, apply Mullein stupes over the limbs once a week and take Mullein tea once a week. This will aid in eradicating the trouble, but the pressures that cause same must be removed also.

15. (Q) What can be done to end a sixteen year abnormal menopause? (A) This will be corrected with the corrections of the pressures in the lumbar and sacral areas.

R1. 3/19/44 Friend Miss [5091] wrote: “Thanks a million, and then again another million, for all the marvelous rdgs… Mrs. [5089] does not begin her treatments until May 31st. She wanted me to tell you how thrilled she is. She will write you immediately upon her return, but she didn’t want you to think she was ungrateful - just the opposite.”

R2. 5/15/44 Mrs. [5089] obtained Life Rdg. 5089-2.

R3. 5/16/44 She obtained a Mental-Spiritual Rdg. 5089-3.

B1. Born 10/13/93 in Rhode Island; residence, Utah; divorced; one child; “living on farm with a friend, Miss [5091]; interdenominational; brought up Episcopalian”.

B2. Mrs. [5089]‘s friend requested 6 readings: 3 for Mrs. [5089] and 3 for herself. All 6 were given within a period of one week. Such a procedure was unusual, and could have been due to the great pressure which existed during 1943-1944. Readings given within one week to 3 months from time of request, were sometimes referred to as “emergency” readings by EC. Such classification appears here, although apparently without justification in this case, and that of Miss [5091].

B3. 10/23/43 Friend’s letter: “Mrs. [5089] and I have come to Utah, having followed Light guidance and also trying to regain our health. We have been fortunate in finding a soul who, similar to yourself, is able to tune in and get certain help from the Light Source. But right now, we seem to be stymied and would more than appreciate your Light help. Our main desires are: to know His will for our lives today; to be able to commune with the Higher Powers directly; to improve our physical health. My friend has a back ailment and her eyes are not so good. Mine is very bad eyesight and a weak stomach. Having perused your booklets … I hasten to tell you of our eagerness for the 3 types of readings… We leave it up to you to arrange the type of reading and the order in which you prefer to give them, also time for each. When you write the dates, if you will let me know the cost of the 3 readings, together with pamphlets on ‘Meditation’, ‘Arabian History’ and ‘Egyptian History’, I will reimburse you gladly… Awaiting with eagerness your letter giving us the first reading date…”

B4. 10/28/43 EC’s reply: ”…We are giving you these appointments right along together and classifying them as emergency readings. The first reading for yourself in the afternoon of May 12, 3:30 - 4:30 EWT. The next morning May 13, 10:30 - 11:30 EWT. the Physical Reading for your friend Mrs. [5089]. The afternoon of May 13, your Life Reading. The Life Reading for your friend the morning of May 15. The Mental-Spiritual Reading for your friend the afternoon of May 16, and for yourself the mental and Spiritual Reading the afternoon of May 15…”

B5. 11/6/43 Letter: “I am in receipt of your letter of October 28, giving the reading dates for my friend and myself. Naturally, we were disappointed to find the dates were so far distant, even though classed as ‘emergency’. I had no idea you were so crowded. Am enclosing our questions for the various readings. In case of any cancellations at your end that would give you unexpectedly free time, could you move my friend’s Physical Reading up? She has had quite a bit of trouble with her back going into spasms and remaining so for weeks. She is only now recovering from just such a tied-up condition which began October 1st. Looking forward with more than eagerness to receiving our readings…” [Enclosures not in ARE files.]

B6. 12/20/43 Friend’s letter: “Guess the letter with questions for readings went astray, so am enclosing duplicate copies… As I said before, we would more than appreciate your being able to move Mrs. [5089]‘s Physical Reading up as her back is a constant worry to her. We are hoping it will not go into another spasm before the reading. However, we marvel at all you are doing daily, and would not wish to put anyone else out… Mrs. [5089] asks the following questions: (1) What should I do to overcome the aftermath of streptococci infections? (2) What is the cause of my back ailment, and how best cured? (3) How should phlebitis leg be treated?” [Additional questions at end of 5089-1.]

B7. 4/27/44 Friend’s letter: “This is just to let you know that Mrs [5089] and I have come east, and we both expect to be in … Pa. from May 12 through May 17, the dates for our readings.”
