GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before. As we find, there has been some response, not altogether as much as might be desired, but with the rest periods that should soon now begin, there will still be recuperation.
-
After a period of some days we would begin to take each day about two ounces of tea; this made, however, from Mullein. This should be made from both the leaves and the flower, for this body; that is, have this prepared, or cured, and when making it each day, put the quantity which may be held between thumb and forefinger in a cup. Pour boiling water on same. Let it stand for thirty minutes, strain off, cool and drink a teacupful of same. This may be cooled by putting ice in same or setting where ice will cool same. This we will find will make a great deal of change in those tendencies for the poor circulation through the lower limbs, also those tendencies for the slowing of the circulation in its return to body.
-
Having had those corrections made, should the body find that the limb or the veins tend to swell again, or the phlebitis become exaggerated, we would take more of the adjustments osteopathically.
-
Also apply, before there would be any breaking of skin, Mullein as in a poultice or stupe over swelled area. This warm, not too hot, but make same preferably with the green Mullein; if not possible, then with the dry, but the tea dried, see?
-
Do this and we will keep better conditions for this body.
-
The applications have been very well, the responses will be much better with the change of the environment.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 7/16/44 Friend’s letter: “We cannot begin to tell you how thankful we are the way everything has worked out for us on our trip; the only disappointment being, not being able to have gone to Virginia Beach. We received the check readings, and I was able to have 3 more treatments… We will eagerly await the weekly Bulletins for they mean so much to us, so please have the address changed…”
R2. 9/21/44 Friend’s letter: “Again we come to you for help. Since returning to Utah I have been in marvelous health, but my friend Mrs. [5089] first caught a cold, due to the air-conditioning on the train, and was just beginning to feel rested when her back collapsed - Sept. 10 - came on just like a rocket, and she is still confined to bed the major part of the day; some days all day. Could you possibly give her a check reading, for we know no doctors in this section, and are up against it to know where to turn for physical aid? If you could get in a check reading for her, here are some questions you might like, unless you prefer to use your own: (1) Is there anything I could do to help myself? (2) Is there any doctor, etc., in this section who could help? (3) Could I prevent these spasms from coming on? Dr. Reilly gave my friend certain exercises to take and she has done these faithfully until too tied up. Also, she has taken the Mullein tea daily. Thanking you…”
R3. 9/25/44 GD’s reply to friend: “We are very sorry to hear that Mrs. [5089] is not improving. Mr. Cayce has been away from the office for several weeks… Since his illness, we have reduced our office force…”
R4. 9/29/44 Friend’s letter: “A few days ago we wrote asking for check readings - since that time we received your Bulletin in which you state you are more than busy. And, also a gentleman has “dropped out of the sky” and was able to adjust Mrs. [5089]‘s back, so that it will be unnecessary to have the check reading for her, and mine can also be cancelled, for I will try to work it out…”
R5. 5/22/45 Friend’s letter: “Because Mrs. [5089] and I are forced to travel quite a bit, we find it better if you just cancel our subscription to the Weekly Readings Extracts, for there are months on end that we do not see them. Thanking you…”
R6. 3/20/50 Questionnaire-letter sent to friend.
R7. 4/12/50 Friend’s reply to questionnaire-letter: “We are no longer interested, so do not follow-up. Thank you for removing our names permanently.”
R8. 6/27/72 Mrs. Byron Moreland’s letter from Minneapolis, Minnesota, (after reporting on reading 294-15): “My husband had a blood clot on his ankle (thrombo-phlebitis). He took only one of the pills his doctor prescribed and then began using Mullein tea as Cayce prescribed. His blood clot disappeared in a very short time. I have a small garden in my back yard and among my lettuce and carrots I have some nice healthy Mullein plants which I am carefully nurturing! I dry some of the leaves periodically for winter use.”
Background
Background
B1. Born 10/13/93 in Rhode Island; residence, Utah; divorced; 1 child; “living on farm with a friend, Miss [5091]”; religious preference: “interdenominational; brought up Episcopalian”. For additional background information see first Physical Reeding (5089-1). Mrs. [5089] was also given a Life Reading and a Mental-Spiritual Reading. The Check Physical Reading which follows, completes this case.
B2. 6/7/44 Letter: “This a late date to be acknowledging your wonderful readings. To say that I am grateful for them only partly expresses what I truly feel. May God give me strength, through faith, to exercise the will to rightly fulfill my destiny! Up to date, I have had 3 treatments at Dr. Reilly’s and he has asked me to write you concerning a check reading. This course will terminate on July 6, and as Miss [5091] and I have to return west at the earliest possible time, would it be convenient to have the check reading about July 6?… (1) What treatments should be followed upon my return west? (2) Have the treatments at Dr. Reilly’s had the desired effect?”
