GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5147], present in this room.
-
As we find, most conditions physically are very good throughout this body. There are tendencies and inclinations, the correction of which may relieve the body from some anxieties which arise in the experience at times, as well as make for greater abilities in the mental and spiritual activities which may be part of the experience of the entity.
-
There are periods when there are those aggravating headaches, which arise apparently from something disagreeing with the digestion. These are only part of the sources or causes, for we find, when there are sudden changes in atmospheric pressures, there are periods when the body apparently tends to take cold easily, and the soft tissue in the face and throat gives trouble. These are partially the greater source of the disturbing areas.
-
For, with this sinus disorder, there is then a form of catarrhal reaction. This forms in the circulation that which tends to produce a greater amount of acidity throughout the system. This acidity causes those inclinations for cold and for the congestion in the liver and the kidneys. Naturally with these congestions, we have a variation in the circulation between lungs, heart, liver and kidneys. As we find, there is no organic disturbance in lungs, heart, liver or kidneys, and yet with these tendencies for the increase in the circulation, and for the attempt to eliminate the congestion produced by this superacidity, all may show some reflex conditions and may, without relieving these disturbances, later cause distress.
-
In meeting the needs, then, of the conditions in the present:
-
First, we would have prepared an inhalant. Take at least a six to eight ounce container, preferably a large mouth bottle. Prepare this so there are two vents in the cork of the bottle, which may themselves be corked, so that neither of these vents extends into the solution. For only the fumes or gases, which are formed by the combination of that which will be placed in same, are to be inhaled into the nostril; and the effect is then through this gas from same to the antrum, throat and the soft tissue of the face and head. Put, then, into the container first, four ounces of pure grain alcohol.
Then add, in the order named:
Oil of Eucalyptus…30 minims, Rectified Oil of Turpentine…10 minims, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…20 minims, Oil of Pine Needles…5 minims, Tolu in Solution…15 minims.
-
These will be suspended in the alcohol. Shaking together and then removing both of the small corks, inhale deeply into the nostril. This will also go into the trachea and bronchi, and it will relieve those tensions, acting as not only an antiseptic, but as an allaying of the inflammation which tends to affect also the soft tissue, and those tendencies towards the conditions indicated. Do this two or three times each day.
-
For the disturbance which already exists by absorption from mucous and circulation, as parts of discharge or drippings through the throat to the stomach, have at least three to five to ten (would be well) hydrotherapy treatments. These may be put far apart in the latter portion of the treatments. These would be given, not with dry heat, to form the activities of the superficial circulation, but a fume bath with witchhazel in same. Not too much of this, only just sufficient so that perspiration begins in all pores of the body. Then have a shower, and then a massage with equal portions of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil.
-
Also take during these periods at least four or five short-wave treatments. These should be applied to the areas through the brachial centers. These will aid in breaking up the tendencies and aid in better eliminations so that assimilations will be better, and the headaches and the disturbance in sinus will disappear. We will find, there will be more activity, quicker thinking and better actions for mental and spiritual reactions.
-
Do keep the spiritual and mental in the creative activities. All arise from the spiritual attitude. The mental is the builder.
-
Do that. We will find we will not only relieve the disturbance here, but create better activities through physical, mental and spiritual body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What should be done for the trouble in the sacro-ileac region? (A) The massages which are to be given with the oils will take care of the conditions across the lumbar and sacral-ileac areas.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 5/31/44 Comment by GD: Mr. [5147] requested 4 Readings consisting of Physical and Life Readings for his wife and him. Since there were only 3 appointments available during their week’s stay in Virginia Beach, Mr. Cayce gave Mr. [5147] the choice of a Life Reading for his wife, or a Life Reading for himself. Mr. [5147] chose a Life Reading for his wife, Mrs. [5148]. Mr. [5147] and his wife were both present for her Physical Reading in the morning of 5/25/44, and her Life Reading in the afternoon of 5/29/44. Mr. Cayce stated in the Life Reading of Mr. [5147]‘s wife, that she was her husband’s companion during the Egyptian incarnation. Before leaving Virginia Beach, appointments were made for their son and their 2 grandchildren.
R2. 6/7/44 Letter: ”…Also, we thank you for your continuing willingness to put me in for a Life Reading as soon as it may be possible, and in any event not after 1/6/45. Since my wife’s reading indicated that I was the 8th* counselor, I know that you will sympathize with my eagerness for a reading soon. The week that my wife and I spent in Virginia Beach proved to be of the utmost importance to us, being at once deeply helpful, interesting and delightful…”
R3. 1/45 Due to EC’s death, the appointments for Mr. [5147]‘s son, grandchildren and his Life Reading were cancelled.
R4. 12/13/45 Letter: Last month I had a letter…concerning sale of the stock of the Edgar Cayce Publishing Company, and that letter has activated my present contribution, because I would rather have it this way than to take stock in return. This will leave you the option of employing my contribution for the benefit of the EC Publishing Company, if you so desire… The best of all good wishes to the staff at Virginia Beach, in their good and great work.”
R5. 5/22/45 Reply to questionnaire: “Yes, I am in favor of the proposed purchase of the Cayce home for A.R.E. headquarters.”
R6. 12/28/45 Letter: ”…I will be happy to see Hugh Lynn when he’s in New York. It will be a privilege to help him in any way I can…”
R7. 1/20/46 Comment by GD: On 1/19/46, a luncheon was held at the Town Hall Club, New York City, at which there were present about 30 guests, consisting of active members, officers and trustees of A.R.E. The purpose of this gathering was to discuss plans for the future program
- [Note: During the conversation following the Life Reading of Mr. [5147]‘s, Mr. Cayce remarked that he thought Mr. [5147] was one of the counselors among the 12, probably the 8th, to be identified through the Readings. GD.]
of A.R.E. Mr. [5147] was an active participant in the discussions. He was not only enthusiastic, but spontaneously took the check for the luncheon. Mr. [5147] and Mrs. [845] met at that luncheon, at which time she remarked: ‘You were my father in the Egyptian incarnation.’ [See 2/20/43 Mrs. [845]‘s Life Reading 845-9, Par. 34-A.]
R8. 5/5/48 Letter: “Met with H. yesterday. We had an interesting discussion about the plan he has in mind, for developing the Foundation program… Unhappily, it is not possible for my wife and the writer to join you for Congress this June. Next Congress, if we are lucky.”
R9. 10/1/49 Questionnaire sent to Mr. [5147] and Dr. [438]. No reply.
R10. 12/7/49 Comment by GD: “Mr. [5147] offered to help raise funds for the microfilming of EC Readings on the E.C.F. Campaign in New York.”
R11. 2/10/50 Letter to HLC: “I am sad to face the necessity of returning the 8 cards that accompanied your letter of November 30. December was an impossible month, as you may know, from a business standpoint, it being year-end matters, etc. January has proved worse for me, by reason of many absences on business and illness. February is such, that I think the only fair thing to do is to return the cards and ask your help in entrusting them to other solicitors, younger and in better health, etc. I am truly sorry that I am not your boy when it comes to this phase of the work. In order to help out in a modest way with the expenses of your campaign, I attach my check for $25., which is, of course, to be considered in addition to my pledge.”
R12. 4/10/51 Letter to GD: ”…I’d like to tell you that my wife and I are coming to Congress… We are quite excited about it. Urgent good wishes from us to you and the staff.”
R13. 3/17/52 Questionnaire-letter sent to Mr. [5147]. No reply.
R14. 5/6/52 GD’s note to Dr. [438]‘s office: “Thanks for recent reports. Will you also make notation on this blank, whether Mr. [5147] came to you for treatment?”
R15. 5/8/52 Reply from [438]‘s office: “Mr. [5147] had 12 treatments in 1944, 12 treatments in 1945, and 6 treatments in 1949.”
R16. 5/12/52 Comment by GD: Mr. [5147] and his wife have been and still are interested and helpful in A.R.E. and E.C.F. activities, as indicated by his correspondence; nevertheless, they have not submitted reports requested.
R17. 6/5/58 He reported his wife [5148]‘s death and told of how very much the Edgar Cayce work had meant to both of them.
R18. 12/60 GD’s note: Mr. [5147] has remained actively interested in the “work” and its expansion.
R19. 12/20/60 Mrs. Iris M. Wegh wrote: “Recently my 7 yr. old daughter was again gripped with an attack of bronchitis, which up to this time had always been accompanied by nausea, a series of shots, and a good two weeks in bed.
“We were able to get Edgar Cayce’s prescription filled, the inhalant mentioned in 5147-1. This we used with just wonderful results. Never once was nausea experienced, all juices and liquids were retained. On the second day she was able to get up a little, and after that, progress was rapid. Plus this, not even one visit to the doctor was necessary. It is with a very grateful heart that we send this $15. donation.”
