This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 3rd day of May, 1934, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [527], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., through his mother.

Time of Reading … No., 3:40 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Fla. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes. As we find, there has been with this body a disregard of those things that were to be the diet for the body. And with the stirring up of the system for proper eliminations there are indications of this in those effects that have been created.

2. In the present we would produce an ALKALIN condition in the body; that is, increase eliminations, using such as Upjohn’s Citrocarbonates.

3. Then we would continue with the proper osteopathic manipulation, with a closer adherence to that which we have indicated as to the diet for the body.

4. And we will find these conditions will disappear.

5. Do that.

6. (Q) Any special advice for the osteopath regarding the treatments? (A) Only that there should be the proper relationships established between the respiratory system and the alimentary canal in its eliminations - that may be aided by the use of the Citrocarbonates, and by stimulating the hepatic circulation.

7. (Q) Any further suggestions for changes or additions to treatment? (A) Do these, as we find, and these will be correct for this body.

8. We are through for the present.

R1. 5/5/34 EC’s letter: In reply to your mother’s letter of April 28th, we immediately got a check reading on the situation and mailed it to you. This reminds me very much of a case we had twenty-five years ago. [1909]? A reading told a man to take for his disorder a certain thing and he wouldn’t be disturbed any more, but the next morning after taking it he was broken out with measles. It was in his system and had to come out.

I guess that condition was in your system and had to come out, but was evidently attracted by your mode of diet. Of course, such disorders are symptoms, rather than diseases - though ordinarily they are classed as such.

Know that we will be very anxious to hear from you, and certainly trust you will be able to follow the suggestions specifically and get the desired results.

R2. 5/5/34 Mother [662]‘s letter: “You are right. My son hasn’t the diet list here, nor can he get to it. Would you please send a copy from your files? I am so anxious for his recovery.”

R3. 6/22/34 Mother [662]‘s letter: “In one of your communications you gave my son, [527], the name of an osteopath in N.Y. He is unable to find communication. Will you give the name again, please? Also you suggested his taking dry milk. Dry milk does not agree with him, it seems. Oh, I wish we could find something to help my son.” [She requested a Physical Rdg. for herself.]

R4. 6/26/34 GD’s letter to Dr. Frank P. Dobbins, D.O. who had been asked in 4/34 (with 527-2) to refer Mr. [527] to an osteopath in Fla.:

On April 9, 1934, we referred to you Mr. [527] for advice concerning a good osteopath in …, Fla., where he was then residing. Since that time he has returned to Brooklyn, … Street, and wishes to take osteopathic treatments from you according to his reading. He will tell you whether or not he has received any osteopathic treatments at all or not, and from whom. The suggestions were as follows at that time: [See 527-2.]

It would probably be well for you to go over all his readings with him (three in number) and help him to carry out all the suggestions for treatments in unison. It is my opinion that he has never followed everything together, and that is why he has not gotten the best results.

R5. 7/30/34 Dr. Dobbins’ Report: “Mr. [527] has had a very few treatments. Don’t know just what to say about this case. He will not keep his appointments and I don’t believe that he is following Mr. Cayce’s directions. I lose patience with him yet want to help him.”

R6. 9/12/34 Mother [662], in requesting 675-1 for her husband, asked: “Shall our son, [527], take the business trip he plans to Fla.?”

R7. 11/18/34 Mr. [527] was present with his parents for EC’s public meeting in the Hirn home on Long Island.
