-
GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [5417], who is at …, New York City. You will answer the questions we will ask you regarding the business associations and relations of this body, and also regarding the health of the body.
-
EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [5417], and those business associations and relations as surround the body.
-
In the physical, we find the body very good in most respects. There needs be precautions taken as respecting the equilibrium, and as regarding the digestive system, that there be more in the nearer normal conditions, that the physical may be able to care for the conditions as are presented to the body from time to time. In the diet, keep nearer to those that are of an alkalin nature, and especially when body under stress physically and mentally do not over eat. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Will the … Stores continue under present supervision, or do they intend to liquidate? (A) There have been those negotiations as respecting liquidation, and the changes in the supervision. However, under the present conditions we will find, unless there comes material CHANGES, that under the same supervision they will remain for at least another fourteen to eighteen months.
-
(Q) What is my status with them due to my unexpired contract? (A) This, of necessity, will be taken care of in some changes that may occur; or, being forewarned, the body may take those of the offers as are being presented in the same fields, under different conditions. These the body should be governed rather by the circumstances and the conditions as arise.
-
(Q) Will they continue with my contract or should I suggest that they make a cash settlement? (A) Only when there are the changes to be brought up, would there be the necessity of suggesting cash settlement.
-
(Q) Should I suggest a settlement on the lease of the Union City store which I hold for seven years if I release them from the lease? (A) Do not release them from lease, for this is desired to be held, and is a DESIRABLE lease, under the present circumstances and conditions.
-
(Q) Should I try and obtain the … City store? (A) These would be well, were they combined with others of like nature.
-
(Q) Would partnership with […] be advisable? (A) Circumstances may make such advisable. Under the present EXISTENT conditions, and unless changes arise, we do not find it COMPATIBLE.
-
(Q) Would the sacrifice of my position warrant the taking over of this store? (A) Not under present circumstances and conditions. Don’t be too hasty.
-
(Q) If I obtain this … City store, would it be possible to obtain the … store in Newark? (A) This may be possible, but there will be necessarily other changes before this would be possible.
-
(Q) What kind of terms should I make to obtain one or both stores? (A) Let first the SUGGESTION come from those with whom the contract is held. Then, in the settlement, in the changes as of change of status with the ones with whom the body interested and associated, these may be made as terms of settlement.
-
(Q) Give other suggestions for this project, and along what lines should body continue? (A) Under the PRESENT lines, in the very near future. Should there be other changes to arise, then these will be necessarily met with the change in individual attitudes. As to what attitudes individuals will take, this may alter, of course, from morning to evening. Under the PRESENT conditions, and in the general manner, follow those as has been suggested.
-
(Q) Will Mr. […] and Mr. […] sever connections with the firm in the near future? (A) Not in the IMMEDIATE future, but there has been, and there is the talk, there is the attempting to make changes.
-
(Q) Should I continue with my plan to interest various manufacturers in a preferred stock issue? (A) Continue with same. Very good.
-
(Q) Regarding the physical, what causes headaches? (A) The condition in the digestive system, as has been suggested. Too much acid!
-
(Q) Any other advice regarding any of these that will be of benefit? (A) Better pay attention to the physical first, that it may be fit to cope with and meet the various conditions as arise. We are through for the present.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/22/31 He referred Mr. [2190] for a Physical Rdg.
R2. 2/2/31 GD’s letter: ”…We received your subscription to the Virginia Beach News, for which we thank you very much. This has been entered and you will get the paper every week. This week the subject [of EC’s article] will be DREAMS. The next one published (in two weeks) will be MIND AS RELATED TO HEALING, and the next MIND READING AND TELEPATHY.
“I suppose you know from Mr. [257] how things are going down here. It would be hard to explain in a letter anyway. In fact, it is hard to explain in any way.
“Please give our love to Mrs. [337] and [5416]…”
R3. 3/16/31 Letter in answer to EC’s letter re pre-organization meeting of A.R.E.: ”…Your letter of March 12th, also enclosed reading [254-54], was very interesting.
“It would naturally require a lot of explanation in order to clarify a lot of things that I would like to ask and know about before I can really comment on same. To be frank about it, I am very much in sympathy with the work and as it will be impossible for me to be there on March 28th, I can only say that when you formulate your plans and it is possible for me to associate myself with you and yours, I will do all within my power. It is quite an effort for me to say just what I will do as I would like to do a whole lot more than I possibly can and the solution to the whole thing would be for me to await developments and then see of what service I can be to you, if any.
“I want you to feel that Mrs. [337], [5416] and I would enjoy doing everything within our power and trust that we can associate ourselves indefinitely with you and can say that we are in full sympathy with you and know what you have been through, and it seems too bad that such beautiful work should be so misconstrued, and can only say that I am positive that there will be a way out and everything will be okay again…”
R4. 3/19/31 EC’s letter: ”…I am just in receipt of yours of the 16th, and I want to thank you very much for this and for what I feel I can read even between the lines. It is a disappointment to me that you will not be able to be with us on the 28th. True, this is only a get-together meeting, or a pre-organization meeting, but we would want to determine at such a meeting whether it is worthwhile considering making efforts to go on at this time; if so, how far and in what direction and way. I hope that some good may come out of this. I am sure if we can have the sympathy; the prayers and the good wishes of many like yourself, Mrs. [337], and [5416], much good will come out of it. To be sure, we will want to acquaint all of those interested with whatever the conclusions may be at this meeting, and I hope to soon after that time come to New York and talk with many of my friends who have expressed themselves very much in the manner as you, yourself…”
R5. 6/9/31 Letter: ”…Enclosed you will please find a check for $50.00 which Mrs. [337] asked me to send to you for your personal use, just as a little remembrance…”
R6. 11/23/31 EC wrote Mr. [5417] and his wife [337], expressing appreciation for their help during the New York arrest and trial.
R7. GD’s note: Through the years Mr. [5417] and his wife [337] were true friends and supporters of EC’s work. They sent gifts of money and applications for readings for members of their family and friends at times when they were sorely needed. A few of those who were referred by Mr. [5417] for readings are: Cases [1111], [2190], [2807], [2413], [2057], [1893], [1843], [1682], [1689], [2040], etc.
R8. 2/29/40 He referred Mr. [2128] for a Physical Reading.
