This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th Street & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of November, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [543].
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Miss [543], Sarah Hesson, Sarah E. McPherson, Hugh Lynn and L. B. Cayce.]

-
EC: We have the body here, [543]. Conditions are improved in the general body from that as we have had here before. The mental attitudes will have MUCH to do with the CONTINUING of the body to regain, or gain, control of its mental and imaginative forces of the body.
-
Continue with those properties, as has been outlined, and when necessary the dosage may be increased. Keep the heart singing. Keep the mind occupied. Keep the body active; and be cheerful all the while! Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is there any medicine we can use with the Mayblossom Bitters [Passion flower fusion - see 543-11.] to keep down the attacks until body can readjust itself? (A) As has been indicated, these ARE the properties to ELIMINATE the conditions PROPERLY! To take a narcotic, or a bromide, is to continue to extend and ACCENTUATE the time! Should there be those periods when these are so SEVERE that these are uncontrollable, then we would find that a compound of the four bromides, given under the direction of a physician, would be the most helpful - see? four PRINCIPAL bromides, see? This would only be taken for a VERY short period, though - and as seldom as it is POSSIBLE! INCREASE the dosage, rather, of the Mayblossom.
-
(Q) Should body continue with one osteopathic treatment a week, or should more than one be taken? (A) One, as we find, properly given, should be sufficient.
-
(Q) Are they being given correctly? (A) Very good.
-
(Q) Is body taking sufficient amount of olive oil to act as an eliminant? (A) Well that these be varied somewhat. The olive oil is more as a food, see - and we would not take less, nor would we take more, than the body may assimilate; but we can continue to increase as LONG as the body does not BELCH, or there is not the regurgitation, either in the stomach, duodenum, or in the pancrean area, as a resistance to same. Milk of Bismuth and Milk of Magnesia may be added, alternately, as an eliminant, or the Agar [Petrolagar?] may be taken occasionally. This will keep eliminations well, and is best for the body; for, as we are eliminating from the minutia of the system those poisons and toxins that HAVE been produced by the bromides, by the POISONS actually as have been taken in system, these NECESSARILY must be carried FROM the system. That’s why exercise of the body is good, and SWEATS would be well for the body - provided they were properly given! but they would have to know how!
-
(Q) Is buttermilk or sweet milk better for the body? (A) That depends upon what other foods are taken! In most periods the Bulgarian buttermilk would be better.
-
(Q) What is the cause and remedy for pain under right shoulder blade? (A) This comes from the lack of those proteins in the system to make the ducts properly vibrate in their respective forces. Hence some fats, as may be taken occasionally, will relieve these disorders. Fats as of beef fat, mutton fat, turkey fat, goose fat, hare fat, or the like.
-
(Q) What are the principal bromides that should be given? (A) Give these, as said, under the direction of a physician! [See 543-15, Par. R2.] The bromides of soda, the bromides of potash, the bromides of these that go with these - see?
-
That is all the questions regarding this body.
-
We are through with this reading.

R1. 11/25/31 GD’s ltr. to Mr. [1212]: “Since our recent experience in N.Y. we realize the necessity more and more for giving rdgs. to ‘Members Only.’ Of course, we already consider you a member, but I want this signed application to our new Ass’n for the files.”
R2. 12/2/31 My Dear Mr. Cayce: “I beg to enclose you herewith check for last reading, I was pleased with the reading, and [543] writes she was delighted also. I did not quite understand how you desired the application filled out, however as you state, membership was already in effect, please be assured that we want to cooperate with you in everything and every way, I could not begin to express our high appreciation of you, your dear sister most precious, not only loved by [543], but our entire family, while awaiting your further advice, I beg to remain,”
Sincerely, [1212]
“By the way our physician Dr. Shackelford who wrote the prescription for the Bromides stated that Luminol, was recognized by the medical profession, as being better, as Bromides were hard on the stomach, whereas Luminol was not, I am just writing you of his opinion.”
R3. 12/12/31 Mrs. Geo S. Dempster’s ltr. to Mr. [1212]:
Dear Mr. [1212]:
“I am in receipt of your letter and altho I am engaged daily as a stenographer I am never too busy to answer all inquiries regarding the dread disease, Epilepsy. I am thankful you noticed my ad appearing in your local paper as I take this means of communicating the good news to all epilepsy sufferers throughout the country.
“My husband has been completely relieved of this affliction
- having suffered 22 years. His attacks occurred sometimes twice daily. He doctored with the best skilled physicians and surgeons in Germany, France and Scotland, but his efforts were fruitless. He came to the United States seeking relief and had an operation performed on the brain but without results. We were fortunate to learn of a new treatment and immediately got in touch with the wonderful doctor that accomplished this miracle.
“This doctor is located at Little Rock, Ark., Dr. Lafayette M. Hunter. He conducts a large sanatorium and also manufactures his own medicine. It is pure and harmless, being free from bromides and the so called opiates which are so harmful to the human body and mental faculties. It is for this reason I recommend his remedy. My husband has had no attack since he began this treatment, Oct. 1924. I write this letter of my own free will and truthfully speak from my own experience. I feel I am obligated in some way to repay this wonderful doctor for making it possible for a new day to dawn in both our lives.
“In today’s mail I am forwarding your name and address to Dr. Hunter and he will write you personally in detail. You will always find him willing to assist or advise you as he takes a personal interest in each and every patient. I trust the one afflicted will lose no time in starting on this sure, inexpensive road to recovery, thereby enabling you to share the pleasures of life which at this time you are being deprived of.
“I receive scores of letters from patients thanking me for recommending this miracle treatment and would be pleased to add your name to my list also. I thank you kindly for your letter.”
Sincerely, Mrs. Geo. Dempster
