This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of August, 1934. [This Reading was volunteered by Edgar Cayce, without a request being received for an appointment, follow ing a check Life Reading 338-3, on 8/30/34, after Mrs. Cayce had given the waking suggestion.]

Time of Reading 4:25 to 4:30 P. M.

1. EC: Calomel - Colocynth - Rhubarb. These should be given to [543]; for the mercury in the Calomel will rid system of the poisons from the burn, and the Colocynth will prevent the too great a strain upon the secretions from the liver. The Rhubarb will tone the activity of the lacteal ducts and thus aid in preventing these great strains at this time.

2. Three tablets - C.R.C. One each day for three days.

[Mr. Cayce then resumed the normal breathing in response to previous suggestion given by Mrs. Cayce and woke up - without it being necessary to give him another waking suggestion.]

R1. 8/31/34 EC’s ltr.: “I have yours of the 28th… I notice what your mother wrote on the back of your letter. For some unknown reason to us, though it possibly might have been quite necessary or it might have been at a time when you needed it, but she asked about your bilious attacks, and yesterday afternoon in getting a reading for someone else, as we were through the enclosed came through. I wondered if it was at a time that you were having one of the seizures or one of the times that you were thinking or feeling that you would like to know what the reading would say. You will notice the time on it, and if you can remember this, don’t forget to let us know about it.”

R2. GD’s note: Miss [543] told me that her letter had been written in the morning of 8/23/34 but her mother had added the P.S. in the afternoon about the time the reading was given. The letter did not get mailed until the next day. Mr. Cayce did not receive it until the morning of 8/31/34. Miss [543] explained that her mother was under quite a strain because of [543]‘s illness and extra care due to the leg burn. Apparently Mr. Cayce had picked up this need and answered it at the same moment the mother was expressing it on paper.

R3. 9/11/34 “Many thanks for the last letter and for enclosing the information you rec’d in a rdg. for someone else. I appreciate also the interest you’ve taken in sending some remedy for my burn [See EC’s letter 8/21/34 under 543-19 Reports]. But I’m glad to say the latter is mending nicely and I shall soon take off the bandage…

“I feel that the Mayblossom Bitters will help me. It, the reading’s suggestions, are doing just as they came through. I’m having more severe seizures but in the end I’ll be the better, if Mother dear can just stand up under the strain of it all.”

R4. 11/21/34 “I certainly had some hard seizures when [since] I last wrote you, but they have checked up considerably…

“Brother, I can see a vast difference since taking the Bitters. Whether or not the family can as yet I cannot say. Of course I realize it will take time, and likely a long time at that.”

R5. 1/6/35 She submitted questions for a ck. rdg., mostly about diet.

R6. 1/14/35 “When the rdg. is rec’d I will get either Daddy [1212] or Mother to send you a check for it and the Bitters together. I will reimburse them [from my allowance] but they can write checks and I cannot… I shall not become discouraged. Rather I believe I’m becoming more optimistic about my condition as the years go on.”

B1. 8/25/34 See 543-20 for epilepsy, also for severe electrical burn on leg which she suffered during an attack about a month ago.

B2. 8/28/34 Letter expressed disappointment that all her previous questions were not ans’d. Her mother added a P.S. later when mailing the letter, asking what [543] should take when bilious: “Having to stay quiet on account of the intense burn on her leg, her liver has become clogged, consequently improper eliminations.”

B3. 8/30/34 P.M. EC volunteered a reply, without the suggestion being given to obtain it, although he had not rec’d above letter and did not get it until the following morning, 8/31/34.
