Hospital Premises) This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of October, 1929, in accordance with request made by his daughter, Miss [349].

Time of Reading 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: We have the body here. Now, we do not find material changes since that as we have had before. The body physical - under its present surroundings, present environs, as has been given - may not be aided without the change in these conditions, and the attitude - for, as long as there is felt in the body that the applications as are being given for the existent conditions are correct, and the best that can be done, can ANY have effect upon - without the changes?

2. In meeting the needs, as has been given, these may be aided and retarded - and will absorption, or the proper ELIMINATIONS be set up in the system, these conditions might be even renegaded, or so centralized, or so localized - either then through absorption or through the removal by surgery, could the conditions be eliminated from the system; but, as given, the pressures have arisen from those conditions existent in cerebro-spinal system as related to those conditions as carry to and from the nerves of the sensory system, such as to leave those conditions as to where growths appear in system. No regard of the diets, or of those things as would cause the proper eliminations to be set up - but treating locally, and disregarding the health as related to the general conditions, has gradually builded such barriers in the system.

3. CHANGE the environs - THEN we may give those conditions as would be aidful, helpful, to the body. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) Where would be the best place? (A) ANY place except under the supervision of those whom the body has had - and THESE - if the body’s mind is not to be changed, then wouldn’t be best to change the body - for if the body is still convinced within self that that being done is proper, DON’T CHANGE IT! Let it have its way! For it must learn for itself!

5. (Q) Can the body live at home, …, N.Y. and still have the treatments for the eyes? (A) Would the body first satisfy self that it can get them there, yes!

6. (Q) What are conditions physically as have affected the body for a number of years which brought about weakness in eyes? (A) The general disintegration in system from pressure as has brought such conditions to the general physical health of the body. PRESSURES existent IN the system, see?

7. (Q) What would be correct diet for the body? (A) Dependent upon what sort of treatment the body is to take!

Make changes for the body, and the body be satisfied with them and seek those itself, we may give that which may aide! We are through for the present.

However, I spent a whole evening discussing it with him and I know that now he is convinced that the readings can help him and can hardly wait until he gets the next one. He knows now that he can be helped and he will follow out exactly what the readings give him…”

R2. 10/24/29 Daughter [349]‘s letter: ”…We’re all terribly sorry about my father [5451]‘s reading, but he believes now in the readings as he sees how perfect were the two readings for my mother [5449] and sister [5450], and how much my brother [2682] has improved…”

R3. 11/20/29 Daughter [349]‘s letter: ”…Have you been able to make another appointment for my father [5451]? He is so anxious to get another one and he will do anything the readings suggest, I know. He says he will. His right eye is getting worse and as it is pretty bad, I wish we could get in a reading before anything really serious really happens. He says if he doesn’t get a reading soon, he’ll have to go to the doctor, although that doesn’t hurt much, and he asks me every day if I have been able to get an appointment for him…”

R4. 11/25/29 Daughter [349]‘s letter: ”…It is a serious situation in regard my father’s eyes. He’ll take any treatment that the readings suggest, at home, but I know that he will not want to go to the Cayce Hospital for treatments. There are many angles to be considered, and as I know you are a real friend, I will tell you of them. To begin with, my father is an orthodox Jew and meals are an item to be considered entirely. Then, he has never gone anywhere without my mother and I know he would not want to - or feel that he could - go anywhere without her. Then again, since my brother is not working now, we simply could not afford to have him stop working because we just about manage to get along without the money that my brother gives into the house…”

6. Is there any kind of light work body could do while taking treatments?
7. What treatments should body begin taking to correct conditions of eyes?
8. Also what treatments should body begin taking to correct imperfect and improper conditions generally in body?

14. Body very anxious to improve eyesight and will start at the beginning and follow whatever treatments the forces give. Please give detailed treatments from very beginning, covering, eyes, nose, throat, head and general physical condition that body should have which will be carried out in detail.
