-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [547]. This we have had before under another name. [This was the first time only his initials were used in presenting his name.]
-
In the conditions as we find here, these - we find - while they show an aggravated or an unseemly response to the administrations as have been given - are, in fact, as we find, just showing the RESULT of the ministrations for the condition wherein the body may be PHYSICALLY improved, provided there is not that worriment that brings about a temperature, that would - either through the nerve system, as for a slow brain fever - THAT should be guarded against.
-
In the relaxing of the body, it will be found that when the weak spells come from exhaustion it will be well to give a stimuli for the whole system, either in that of medicants or of that which will alter the circulation, in the usage of the stimuli of alcoholic formations, either in spirits frumenti, wine, or champagne. These, as we find, will act better with those that are of food values, as milk, egg - or a portion of egg, or a combination of same. Also relaxing of the body as much by GENTLE manipulation and most by the power of suggestion, when the pains in the neck and shoulders are had or experienced by the body. These, as we find, are the reflexes from an over-sensitive, over-active body, and the mental and the nerve forces in mental [are] so exhausted as to seek to find expression, or wholly neurasthenia in action in system. Then most by the power of suggestion as gentle manipulations are given, will aid most in same.
-
In the nausea as ensues from the weakness as comes, anything that may be given as a stimuli - either those of limewater, cinnamon water - equal parts - just a sip - or ammonia, or of any of the hydrates, or half and half of just carbonated water - ALL will aid in relieving this condition.
-
Keep the body [as] quiet as reasonable, but have as much outside, or air, as may be gained in the nominal or normal manner. These, as we find, the best ministrations for the body.
-
In preventive measures, those of keeping drainages through the system will keep down those tendencies of inflammation in the centers as would cause the disorders. These may be stimulated most through any of the applications as will increase the alimentary canal eliminations, so that they require an activity of the gastric forces in system, just so they are not allowed - THROUGH the diet - to become acid reactory, see? DO NOT eat meats, nor such. RATHER those that are alkalin, see? Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Give the cause and treatment for the dizziness. (A) That’s why it’s told to keep quiet! for when the body attempts to become active, with the centers disturbed, dizziness is the result of incoordination, and has been seen or given.
-
That is all the questions for this body.

We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/11/30 EC’s letter to Mrs. [4631]‘s brother - See 5473-7 Reports.
R2. 9/11/30 GD’s letter to Mrs. [4631]: ”…It seems that Mr. [5473] is just now getting relaxed so that he can be benefited by the treatments. This was supposed to be done the first ten days he was here, but it has taken a month. I feel sure that now he will begin to steadily improve…
“Mr. [5473] went fishing with a crowd of us one morning last week [9/6/30], and got sick while out in the boat. He went to bed as soon as he got home, and has been too weak to be up much since then - but, as the reading says, it is because he is beginning to relax, and until he did that no building-up could be done. So, I feel we should really be encouraged. You will notice that at the beginning of the reading, ‘…this we have had before under another name’. Mr. L. B. Cayce presented him as [initials], when always before it has been presented as [first name and middle initial]. See the difference! They surely do tell you about it if you slip up one bit. Mr. [5473] has to be more careful about his diet, too. It seems that he won’t eat the vegetables and things that are good for him, but this reading said positively he should not eat meat - so, since it has come out plainly maybe he won’t. I’m hoping that we will have a good report for you on him next time…”
R3. 9/19/30 EC’s letter to mutual friend, Mrs. [2457]: ”…Mr. [5473] hasn’t been so well for a week, yet has been better in the last week possibly than he’s ever been. This contradiction you can possibly understand. His condition was such when he came here that there was the necessity of there being almost a collapse before we were able to get him to relax sufficient to start on any building program at all. He’s much better in the last day or so, and I’m in hopes now is going to soon be on the road to complete recovery…”
R4. 9/23/30 EC gave the ninth and last reading - 5473-9.
