This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of October, 1929, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [5564].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Not a great deal of change has taken place with the physical forces. Some days the body feels better. Others the conditions become more depressing. Ready for questions.

2. (Q) How many hours should body rest daily? and during what period? (A) The body should rest during the waking hours, daily - at least three to four and a half hours. Preferably this should be after the morning meals - or exercise some activities that require both mental and physical activity. After such exercise, rest for an hour and a half. After the noon meal, at least rest (directly) for an hour, and after such rest - more of the MENTAL than physical, or such receptions or interchange of ideas and ideals with individuals. After the evening meal, before retiring, more PHYSICAL than mental.

3. (Q) What is the character of disturbance in elimination? Where is it located and how can it be corrected? (A) As has been indicated, the character of the disturbance is that inability of the coordination in elimination, and - as has been also indicated - one portion of the system suffers under the stress of the other attempting to carry on that as SHOULD be taken through other organs. The differentiation between the capillary or lymphatic circulation and that of the alimentary canal, and the effect of the hepatic circulation upon eliminations. There the trouble exists.

4. (Q) What is meant by “acumen” [acuteness?] in the exterior portions and how the capillary circulation is affected? (A) Acumen means acute conditions arising, as does in the various portions of the system at various times. Capillary circulation, that as has just been given, showing the differentiation in how the INTERNAL elimination and the CAPILLARY circulation become combative one with another.

Acumen in this direction showing how that at times the poisons that should be carried through the alimentary canal, or acted upon by the effect of the functioning of organs in system, is carried through capillary circulation, and distresses coming there - forming acute conditions, or acumen in system.

5. (Q) Give definitely how the liver and pancreas are affected and what symptoms they produce. (A) This has been outlined already - the activities of these are seen, that in the pancreas we have the engorged condition, taking up more sugar than there should be in system, or creative of more sugar, or forming into the system - then - different character of the alcoholic contents of the system, in the activities of digestion. These, with the liver, naturally produce torpidity, and the effect is seen in the circulation and in the activities of the system.

6. (Q) State definitely what the kidney trouble is. (A) Attempting to carry on the functioning of that, and the liver.

7. (Q) Are all those conditions produced by pressure on the 8th and 9th dorsal? (A) The pressure on the 8th and 9th dorsal is that which causes the accentuations of the conditions. Not produced by pressure wholly, but the pressure there causing IMPROPER activity or improper functioning of the nerves to that portion of the system affected, gradually builded in the system that tendency in that direction, and when the organ became affected - then the effect was as the functional disturbance, or produced by the pressure indicated.

Now, if they will act in the manner as has been outlined, we can remove these conditions! We are through for the present.
