[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [5671], Drs. Lydic, Parker and Hayes, Miss Morris, and L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading Cayce Hospital, 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Virginia Beach, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. This we have had before. The body here, [5671] has little to fear of there not being the full and complete cure, will the body be a little patient and keep those activities for the whole of the system, much as has been outlined for the body.

  2. DO NOT OVERTAX self MENTALLY; that is, EXCITEMENTS of any nature - their retractions for the nerves are bad. This brings too SUDDEN reactions in the system.

  3. In the GENERAL way, however, conditions are satisfactory, and the body should SOON be nearer and nearer normal. Ready for questions.

  4. (Q) What causes dryness of skin? (A) The deep internal circulation, as calls for the replenishing or rebuilding in the system, tends to produce that of the low or slower HEPATIC circulation; consequently, these call for the system to use most of the emunctory and lymphatics centrally. Hence the dryness. Hence that of the warning, not to TAX the system in excitement, or in undue nerve energy - for the CENTRAL system responds FIRST sympathetically, and causes the blood to rush to central portions more. To aid this, we would add those of a stimuli to the emunctories and lymphatic centers, that come to the portions of the outer part of body, with that of the violet ray. Armpits, elbows, knees, groins, and especially across the diaphragm. Superficial circulation will be increased by this, and not to the detriment of the rest of the system. Because the body tingles or itches after this, don’t let it worry.

  5. (Q) Would you recommend thyroid extract? (A) Would not be harmful. MORE we would recommend, IN THIS, would be those of the diet that would BUILD within - as of codliver oil, of hog tripe, of the calf’s liver. These would be, as WE find, MORE beneficial even than the thyroid, UNDER the present condition. Because the metabolism is low, this is produced rather from the corrections as have been attempted, and are being made, in the lumbars.

  6. (Q) Is the ointment made up correctly? (A) It’s doing good work!

  7. (Q) Can body go home in a week and come to hospital for treatments daily? (A) In two weeks it may.

  8. That is all the questions regarding this body.

  9. We are through with this reading for the present.
