This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of September, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [569].

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the relief and improvement of same, and you will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding this.

2. EC: We have the body here - we have had this before, you see.

3. Now we find while many conditions show some improvement, SOME conditions show an accentuation through taxation of the body and the system through the sympathetic nerve system. As is seen - and of which the body has been warned regarding - too much exercise by the body, while the system is attempting to adjust itself through the high state of eliminations as are set up in the system through those properties as have been given and administered to the body; for, as is seen by that condition existent in the capillary circulation, this - through taxation - produces an excess of elimination in this direction. Hence we find the effects of same in the abrasions as are seen through that attempting to be eliminated from the system, and while the condition in the intestinal system shows improvement, there apparently is excess elimination or irritation in those conditions that exist in the capillary circulation. The condition is apparent in itself. There should be nearer the BALANCED condition in the body, for the applications to the body are to keep the eliminations at that ABOVE normal but no one portion of the system eliminating in excess above the other, without resultant effect of that excess in the body, see?

4. There is seen too that in the condition existent in the nerves of face and head, and that especially in the teeth, or tooth, where there is an excess and the abscess formation there - will make it necessary for the removal of the tooth, that this elimination may be properly set up, for this irritation is aggravating to the whole nerve system, and especially to the sympathetic nerve system. Then remove same, and treat locally with that of the poultice of the fig for the removal of the poisons there from cavity.

5. Keep the excess of elimination high through the body (through the intestinal system).

6. Do not overtax the body with meats.

7. Do not over EXERCISE the body through undue exercise, see? and we will find we will bring the better conditions for this body - keeping the rest, as has been outlined for the body, active in the system. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) Which specific tooth should be removed, or has the abscess? (A) That on the upper right hand side.

9. (Q) Does the Radium Applicator make the skin affection worse? (A) With the undue balance condition in the system is the cause of this, as given. Keep the Radium Appliance, for the eliminations must be set properly in the system.

10. (Q) What should be used on the eruption to sooth and heal? (A) These may be used with plantain and cream - will be effective in healing. Better start the eliminations from within before such is applied.

11. (Q) What should be given to start the eliminations? (A) That of the salines, as has been outlined for the body, and the system cleansed of all acid as near as possible. Take alkaline for the eliminations. The body above the normal in acids.

12. (Q) The alkaline Petrolagar would be good for the body? (A) Be well for this, but we would give more oil with it.

13. (Q) What oil should be given? (A) Any that is as lubricant, and not as an acid. Such as in Usoline. Excess of same, see?

14. (Q) How should the fig poultice be made and applied? (A) There are regular fig poultices for such conditions, or may be made of the preserved figs - not that as is made preserves OF, but that as is packed*, and this opened and soaked in cream, or in that as already prepared for such conditions. This is healing, and will REMOVE the excess poisons. Do that.

15. We are through for the present.

• [GD’s note: I heard EC describe to someone how to open up a DRIED fig and soak it in warm milk or cream and apply to an abscessed tooth. He said it would draw out poison, relieve pain, etc.]

R1. 10/3/27 [569]‘s letter: “My rdg. and ltr. rec’d Sat. A.M. You just don’t know how much I appreciate your doing all this for me. I have suffered so much with my face and head that I had one tooth taken out on Tuesday (9/27/27) before you gave the rdg., but I still have another to come out - the last back jaw tooth on the right side (upper). I have felt all the time that it should come out but was just hoping that something might be done to save it. The one he took out Tues. was in bad shape - the roots had turned black and I just know there is an abscess at the root of the one you said to take out. I’m going in this P.M. and let Dr. Flener take it out, for I am nearly sick enough to be in bed. I just hope I can find the figs - sure will get them if they are in this town.”

I think it’s all coming from a tooth the dentist is treating but as yet can’t see any improvement… I told him I thought it was an abscess at the root but he says not… I have almost turned to dope… The bone in my face is so sore I can’t bear to touch it. It’s an upper tooth on the right side, and that whole side of my face is in a rack of misery all the time… I had about made up my mind to go tomorrow and have it pulled out, but [760] said for me to write you for a rdg. and let you tell me if it should come out… Please ask also if the other trouble I have is relieved, and would the Radium Applicator make this skin affection worse and what should I do to heal it up, as it breaks out. It is so much worse across my back from one hip to the other - it is almost solid… Should I continue to wear it on my back?”
