This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of May, 1927, in accordance with request made by her mother - Mrs. […].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes.

3. Now, we find the conditions with this body are of that nature wherein that the longer this condition is allowed to remain uncorrected, the worse grows the effects produced in the physical forces of the body.

4. In the presentation - at the time of birth - there was that of the condition that brought the wrong incentive to the body in its functioning through those glands that lead in its normal development to and through those [portions?] of the lower brain. Hence the abnormal developments in portions, the extravagant effect as is produced in portions of the nerve system, and in the conditions in general as are seen over and through the body at periods.

5. To bring the better conditions, and to bring about the normal development - preventing the conditions from growing gradually worse in the body - would be to correct through that as would be called psycho-therapy, or that of correcting the cervicals about the 1st and 2nd, and giving that electro-magnetic vibration to the body that will set the vibrations in the system in such a way and manner as would bring the correct adjustments for the system. Such may be found in that treatment as may be accorded by A. C. Layne (Dr. A. C. Layne, D.O., 223 W. College St., Griffin, Ga.), or by the Weltmer Institute at Nevada, Missouri.

6. The sooner such corrections and such vibrations are set aright, the sooner would there be recuperative forces set up in this body of [5702].

7. We would do that, would we bring the better conditions for the physical development of this body - else we will find that there will be turned either those of abnormal brain’s development in directions, or the abnormal heart’s reaction, or the abnormal forces through the torso of the body - else dissolution, see? Do that as has been given.

8. (Q) How long will it take? (A) From ten to twelve (10 to 12) days the condition would show improvement. In three to six (3 to 6) months the body should be on the road to correction. In the year to two years, near normal.

R1. 6/6/27 Mother’s letter: “We feel that your reading is correct; and intend to follow it out to the limit, especially as we have no other course to follow. The doctor claims that his will be a new discovery in medical science if our baby can be cured, as it is a rare case. Was told not to have another baby, as it might be the same. What would you advise?”

R2. 6/20/27 Mother’s letter: “Received your reading of my baby [5702] and was most cheered by your hopeful outlook. I cannot afford to go to Dr. A. C. Layne or the Weltmer Institute and have found a doctor [F. E. Miller, D.C.?] who is going to treat my baby according to your recommendations, although he holds no hope for the recovery for my baby. Any further instructions as to the nature of treatment will be carried out by him, as he has already done in the last 5 days. The doctor suggests the following questions to aid him in the interpretation of your letter: Which of the following forms of electrical treatment or current do you recommend? (A) Tesla auto condensation (B) ‘Arsonal’ auto condensation (C) Diathermy (all of these are high frequency currents) (D) Galvanic currencies (chemical electricities) (E) Sinusoidal currents (mechanical). What method of application, where applied, by hand or by electrods? How often should treatment be given? How long shall each treatment last? In your letter you say psychotherapy; the doctor believes this is a misprint and suggests physiotherapy. Is he correct? Would artificial sunlight treatments help? If the case is prevented from dying and should the baby improve physically as you state in your reading will the mental condition be cured as well? How about the eyesight? I shall be grateful to you for an immediate reply.”

R3. 7/11/27 EC’s letter: “Yours of the 20th came while I was away. In fact, the day before your letter was written I was in … tried to get in touch with Dr. Miller, but failed to locate him and I had to go on. I certainly am in hopes that the suggestions as they have been given will prove helpful and beneficial to your child. I want to assure you that it is our sincere desire to be of help, and I hope and trust that Dr. Miller will make the same effort to see that the suggestions are carried out - and I feel sure from what I hear of him that he will do this. We will make just as many readings as necessary for him to get as near the correct understanding for what is meant for him to do as possible. We will be able to take this up again on the morning of the 23rd…”

R4. 7/17/27 Mother’s letter: “Dr. Miller [F. E. Miller, D.C.?] is not sure that he is giving the baby the right kind of electrical treatment. Also the baby seems to be getting weaker every day.”
