This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Phillips Hotel, Dayton, Ohio, this 22nd day of October, 1923, in accordance with request made by himself - [5717], in regard to the association of Mr. [5717], Edgar Cayce, Mr. [4121] and Mr. [5453] as related to the Cayce Institute of Psychic Research, financing the work through the “Plan of Protected Investment Co.”

1. CONDUCTOR: An Ohio corporation. Ten Thousand (10,000) shares at one hundred (100.00) par value preferred stock. Thirty thousand (30,000) shares no par value common stock. Part of the common stock to be given with the sale of preferred stock. Two thousand (2,000) shares of common stock to be given to The Cayce Petroleum Company of [[Texas|Texas]]. Ten thousand (10,000) shares of common stock to be given to the Cayce Institute the earnings of which will be used for the work of the institute. The balance of common stock to be left in the treasury or to be used in the sale of the balance of preferred stock. Out of each one hundred (100.00) dollars received, sixty-two (62.00) dollars is to be invested in ten (10) year first mortgage bonds. The sixty-two (62.00) dollars so invested with the compound interest at five percent (5%) thereon to be returned to investor at the end of ten (10) years.

You will approve or reject this plan with suggestions for betterment.

2. EC: Very good. We would accept this as outlined here, and in this we will find that this would be acceptable to parties investing. We have many here that may become investors - investors that are interested in this same developing, this same institutional work. Also some of these who have been, and are interested in the developing of the work, as was and has been shown through the workings of The Cayce Petroleum Company or other interests as were first manifested or shown therein. For that reason would become investors or work in the development of same.

3. As to changes or betterments from this - there are many conditions that must be considered in this plan, especially in that of what would be the actual amount of capital invested in this production, or in obtaining production, or that invested in obtaining the work of developing the rest for itself. This as a whole and as given is correct. Follow that out. Do it now.

4. There will be a great big advance in oil the third day of January.

5. There will be many combinations now not thought of, that will be presented before completion of this plan of developing, and it may become the largest independent institution of individual development for petroleum.

6. Forget not the purpose as first set or planned if that would succeed.

7. We are through.
