This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of August, 1926, in accordance with request made by Mr. [943] thru Mr. [287].

Time of Reading 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Florida.

1. GC: You will have before you the well being drilled in Section 19, Township 54, Range 35, in Dade County, Florida, and you will tell us the condition of operations at the present time, and how the operators may proceed to make a success of this well. You will answer any questions which I might ask you regarding this.

2. EC: Yes, we have had these operations here before. Now, we find the operations are going very good - the depth in operations at the present time being ten ninety (1090), the formation that of the blue gray loam shale or silt. The formation changed, as we see, near the nine seventy-five (975), and in this stratum, in many places, would be found oil in paying quantities. Here we have only that of the shale oil, or fool’s oil.

3. In the manner to make this the successful operation, only needs to drill to the greater depth. The formations encountered will be in that as has been seen - the shale, with the stratums of lime between these breaks. Near the eighteen seventy-five (1875) will be found the larger pool in this district. Drill, then, to that sand. Water troubles may or may not be experienced near the fifteen hundred (1500) foot mark, (or 1569), though this may be smeared, or cased off, by the drilling, provided same is reached at that period when the lower strata of water is at the least pressure to same. Needs be only persistent and consistent in operations. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) What size casing should be used to case this well? (A) Size necessary to fill the opening at this depth, for this would be the last water encountered before the production.

5. (Q) How much casing is set at this time? (A) They know! They have measured - they have put it in! That’s to cut off the first water - we have here - as we have given here.

6. We are through for the present.
