This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of September, 1926, in accordance with request made by Mr. [287].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Dr. T. B. House and Mr. [287].]
Time of Reading 10:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Florida.

GC: You will have before you the well being drilled in Section 19, Township 54, Range 35, in Dade County, Florida, and you will give us the depth of the well at this time. If they have passed the production depth, tell us what should be done to get production. If they have NOT reached the production depth, tell us how many more feet should be drilled to reach production.
-
EC: Yes, we have the operations here. We have had these before.
-
Now, we find the present depth to twenty-one naught nine (2109), and that they reached the producing area, or stratum, at the eighteen seventy-five (1875) to seventy- six (76), and to make this the producing well would be to drill into this stratum to that sufficient depth to reach the pool proper. In this area, as we see, the general area in the Dade County fields are nine seventy-five (975), nine twenty-five (925), eighteen seventy-five (1875), and that in this particular location the first area being that in which the first oil, as was given, showed in the soft white grayish muck. In the eighteen seventy-five - seventy-six (1875-76) the first real heavy lime, with the one foot stratum. Being in this Northern portion of the anticline, we find the greater depth would be necessary to reach the pool proper, while many feet will still be in the producing area, while in Sections 19 and 20, in Township 53 would be the lesser depth for even larger production. As long as this stratum shows, the area of the production of oil, then drill - for this may be brought in at any of the stratums through which this production area is shown.
-
Do that.
-
We are through.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/6/26 Mr. [287]‘s wire to Mr. [943]:
PRESENT DEPTH TWENTY ONE NAUGHT NINE REACHED PRODUCING AREA EIGHTEEN SEVENTY FIVE SEVENTY SIX THIS CAN BE TOLD BY FORMATION AS LONG AS IN THIS FORMATION DRILL THIS MAY BE BROUGHT IN AT ANY OF THE STRATUMS IN THIS PRODUCING AREA COMPLETE IN REPORT IN MAIL.
R2. 9/22/26 Mr. [287]‘s letter following the terrible Florida storm: “The casing is stuck in the well. They report 2014, you say 2109 feet deep. Someone is wrong. They have only set about 60 feet of casing all told but now they are stuck and they say they have pumped many tons of sand and mud that has run or caved into the well. I wish you would take a reading and let me know what should be done at once. They haven’t drilled any for about 2 weeks. I know you can tell them what they should do and the condition of the well at present, and how many feet from there to the oil. Wire me as soon as you get this when you can do this.”
R3. 10/2/26 EC’s letter to [287]:
My dear Mr. [287]:
I certainly was glad to know that you were safe and alright. You know we felt uneasy about you, personally and naturally was afraid the storm had ruined some of your property. I’m in hopes though things came through alright.
Now, as regarding the reading for the well on Bimini, we will take them up as soon as it is so they can be of any use. Mr. [943] very kindly wrote me a nice letter the other day - said the well was - the rig at least, was destroyed in the storm, and naturally would have to be rebuilt. When they are ready, why of course we’ll do whatever we can. Also that the destruction at Bimini 996 was such that possibly many of the marks as were given were destroyed. Perhaps it will be well enough that we be there, as he suggested, if it is satisfactory with them.
We are still very, very, busy, but will want to do our best to keep up with anything that may be of interest or worthwhile to you people there. Let us hear from you as often as you have the opportunity, as to how things progress there.
With kindest personal regards from all,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
R4. 10/11/26 Mr. [287]‘s letter in re [996] series adds:
By the way the oil well is at a standstill derrick blown down and all the casing on most of it at least destroyed, as it was up and standing at time of storm, however, they are shipping in new timbers and casing, but will probably be a couple of months before that well can be finished.
It is now reported that some of the drillers have given out the information that a little oil was found at 937 ft. however, I don’t believe that report is true, as you said the oil strata was 975 ft. and which they claim they passed thru an oil shale at that depth. Mr. [2671] has just told me that he believed the crowd drilling the well, or at least the head of it was crooked, - of course you will not repeat this as he probably told me in confidence. Although he did not tell me to withhold the information.
R5. 1/10/27 Mr. [287] was present for 5741-7.
