This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 11th day of July, 1934, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [635], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Born May 23, 1926, Sunday night, Deland, Fla. Time of Reading 11:30 to 12:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Florida. (Life Reading Suggestion) [See 262-66 volunteered here in re vibrations of places.]

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, that are latent and manifested in the personalities of that entity named [608].

2. In entering we find it was, as it were, imperative - from the soul development of the entity - that under the environ of Florida, even DeLand, this soul, this entity, should come in its present experience of activity. Hence the impelling influence in the formative years in the experience that the entity will be in this environ, yet we will find in a few years a material change in the place of abode or residence, and an ENTIRE change in the environs or surroundings of the entity.

3. This, then, is as destined? No; rather as that builded, as we shall see, which - with the activity of every nature where there is the union or fusion of mind-matter in its relations - brings the result of that union as destiny. See?

4. As to the astrological associations, then, we find:

Mercury brings the high mental efficiency, high mental abilities; yet, as is seen too, the necessity of reasoning with the entity, for to the entity - especially in its formative years - there must be the MENTAL application of the whys or the wherefores of every activity that may make for a mental or material development or expression of the entity. Hence it may be at times that others may term the entity’s activity as strong-minded, as hard-headed, as inclined to be too curious, as inclined to see WHY things act as they do; making for an inclination towards those things that would ordinarily make for the inventive turn, or the sort of development that will be not only analytical in its activity but tend to be critical in its ideas or expressions of its relationships to other individuals. These arise from the Mercurian influence, or sojourn there.

6. Such an influence tempered with Jupiter and Saturn makes for the broadness of vision in the experience of the entity in the present. These, to be sure, are LATENT faculties and powers in the experience of the inner self or soul. Hence find expressions in varied ways and manners in the developing mind in the present. For, it is a very old soul, and one that - with its normal or nominal development in the present, may be heard OF and FROM - far and near. That the trend of the mind will be in very DEFINITE directions is seen from the associations of sojourns in environments. As to whether these are to become constructive or merely an expansion of the gratifying of self’s own motives, is to be determined by the will of the entity and the abilities of the entity to so apply self as to know what has been and is set as its ideal in all the varied relationships that are to be experienced in the material world.

7. The Venus, Jupiter and Uranian influences, the activities in Saturn as combined with the Mercurian, make for rather these innate expressions:

8. One that in its formative years will be overactive in the physical and mental way; hence must be governed rather by love, patience, and by the persistent setting of example rather than by mere precept.

9. One that will find activities in almost every sort of character of influence about the body as to things; for the entity even in its present development may converse as well as most individuals twice its age on the construction or value of various constructions of automobiles, gas engines, or the necessity of the character of fumigation in home for the protection of certain character of conditions in a home, or the manner of the drainages in certain characters of lands for the better protection of the health and the like. Why? These things have come INNATELY, or through former experiences in the activity of the entity, and the high mental ability, and being associated with individuals who converse on such subjects [GD’s note: Her father, Mr. [2809], dealt in automobiles, real estate, land developing, etc.] naturally it absorbs such information in the very inner self. How must such mental conditions and expressions be met? By not a dingdong manner, but as the entity seeks for ideas set - in precept, in example, in conversation, in the reading, in all the activity - that which is a SPIRITUAL ideal, and that all those mental, moral, penal or what not relationships may and must be gauged or governed by that standard of perfection that is in its spiritual essence of constructive nature. Then we may see that the growth of the entity in the present, the soul, may be for WHOLLY developments.

10. As to the appearances in the earth and those that influence in the present:

11. Before this we find the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those periods when there were the first settlings in what is now the older of the towns in the entity’s present native environ or state.

We find the entity was among those that saw much of the turmoil in material affairs, the changing of environs under the varied conditions of the political life, the changes in the activities of people that sought through their own physical prowess to become the leaders and directors of those things that dealt with people’s lives and activities during the sojourns there.

13. Then the entity, in the name Celia, was associated with those that became master of the seas or the waters about that land, and later - though the entity was not associated with same, but the entity’s associations became what is now known as the pirates of the South Seas; yet in what is now St. Augustine much would become to the entity very familiar, or would be recalled - if the entity were there in that environ for any great period. And some of the adornments of the body Celia may be found in the narrow street of that town, even today - July 11, 1934; when that was 1748.

14. From that experience into the present activities will be brought the restlessness, yet the innate knowledge of keeping, holding, much that is secret; not as secrets from others, but that which is knowledge to self to be used in its proper place and time as the entity innately holds in self. Yet the abilities to fathom out mysteries, the abilities to know - through associations of individuals - as to what individuals think OF, as may be found by conversation with the entity.

15. Before that we find the entity was in that now known as the Palestine land, or the Holy Land, during those periods when the Master walked in the earth.

16. The entity then was among the children of the household of Cleo, the wife of Peter and his peoples; or the one that was set SECONDLY as the child blessed by the Master when He said, “Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

17. When a soul, then, has been blessed by Him, who IS Life, how may it ever WHOLLY wander from that blessing as given by Life itself? How, when He - LIFE - the CHRIST - has promised in thine own experience that ye are to fill a purpose in the experience of others? If ye will wholly trust in Him, He - and ye - will not fail.

18. The entity, then, in the name Junie, gained; though in the latter portion came suffering, yet the entity - when Peter came from prison - was among these that, with Rhoda, opened the door to let Him in, though the prison door had opened to his touch.

19. In the experience the entity found that awakening that may be aroused in the present to the associations of that which is the ideal in every soul’s experience, to be in the earth as a channel of blessings through Him that has blessed thee, that does bless thee, in the activities in a material world. Thus may the greater activity for the entity be aroused in the present.

20. Before that we find the entity was in that land now known as the Egyptian, during those periods when there was the establishing of the teachings of the priest in the land.

21. The entity then was among the daughters of the priests that made for the purifying of the temple with those that purged themselves, and those that made for the dispensing to those that sought through these channels for that which may be found as perfecting of the body for the purifying of same that there might be the blessings to those that sought to know their relationships with the Creative Forces in a material world.

22. In the name then She-Apth-ea, the entity gained and lost; gaining in the aids that were given, yet losing when those that brought about the destructions of much through the banishments brought to those peoples the activities that later were turned into the spreading of the tenets of the period - and the entity gained then, in the latter portion.

23. So, in the present, innately, there is seen that which will tend to make the entity be interested in music, that will lead to the entity becoming a REPORTER on papers, magazines or such; or activities as the manager for those on the stage or screen or such things will appeal to the entity from that experience, and will find expression in the activities of the entity; writing itself for those very things that it represents, or giving the reports that may be had from others, and giving the expression of same in its own words.

24. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as the Atlantean, during those periods when destructive forces were imminent through the falling away of the people and the uprisings of the sons of Belial that brought the activities that made for the drawing of lines.

25. The entity then was of those that believed in the One, yet using its inventive forces towards those things that brought bodily destruction; hence becoming something of an outcast to its own peoples, yet rejecting the activities of those that were rebellious to the law of One; losing in self in those experiences of the latter portion of the sojourn there, yet innately will be found in self those interests in things that have become a portion of the SOUL activity. These turned, as we have indicated, to those things that may be weighed by the judgements in self through a standard that is spiritually ideal, rather than mental judgements with the material things as ideals, may be made for soul development.

26. Then the entity was a princess, and was Princess Pataraia.

27. As to the abilities of the entity, then, and that to which it may attain, and how:

28. The application of self through those things that may be gained through setting for self the ideal, and bringing to self those things that make for soul and mental development, may bring the greater joys, the greater soul development in this experience.

29. Ready for questions.

30. (Q) How is the best way for her mother to handle the conditions that arise in her life? (A) As indicated, set by precept and - most - by example, that there is an ideal, and that the ideal must be in the spiritual life; that judgements in the moral, the commercial, the material, the mental world may all be judged by the ONE standard - which is set in Him who BLESSED Junie in that far land.

31. (Q) Is she growing too fast, and is there any way to keep her from being too tall? (A) It’s the normal, natural development. Let there be sufficient of the correct exercising of the body to keep a normal BALANCE in its development, which means in the open - but a systematic activity with purposefulness in the experience.

32. (Q) How can one keep from being sensitive about being so tall? (A) Know that what has been builded by self is the expression of that which is BEST for that which the soul has to do in this sojourn. See? This should, with this knowledge, remove all sensitiveness; knowing that what IS is that which may be used (which cannot be used if you are sensitive) for HIS glorification in the earth.

33. (Q) For what vocation in life is she best adapted? (A) Reporter.

34. (Q) In what manner may she be best prepared for it? (A) As indicated, in music, in association, in reading, and especially literature and English. History.

35. (Q) Please give any advice to the mother that will assist in making for the best development of this entity. (A) Always let a portion of the dress, either external or that close to the body, have something of BLUE in same. Keep not as a charm, but as the influences that may bring the greater force about the body, the moonstone or the bloodstone as the ornaments about the body; but those that will be found (that are akin to these) in the turquoise blue and the pigeon-blood ruby.

As to advice to those that are responsible for the soul’s environment:

First in self know that not as a duty but as an opportunity has this soul been in thine own environ; not for self alone, but for the development of the soul that is in thine keeping, that this soul may bring to others much that will remind them oft that He gave, “Of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Then, let thy yeas be yea. Reason with, even as He did with His disciples, and may thy life be even as His, “If ye believe not for my words, believe for the very works’ sake.” For, in His keeping will He bear thee up and direct thee in the ways thou shouldst go; for, as He has given in the bodies of many that they may bear in them the glorifyings not of other than those things that He has given in their keeping for the glorification of the Father’s love to the sons of men, so may THOU find - in that expression of love to thine own body, as found in this soul - that HE may bless thee, may KEEP thee, and keep her in that way that leads to life everlasting in Him.

R1. 8/1/34 Mother [635]‘s ltr.: “Honest, I don’t know how to describe my feelings when I read [608]‘s Life Rdg. You know I never read one before. When I finished I felt as though I had lived those few minutes in the far past - it was all so vivid. For a few minutes there was nothing of the present - I was like one coming out of a dream. I can’t say what I felt - and it has done this for me - She seems something more than a mere child. I can’t, just can’t somehow, scold her or punish her as I used to. I know in my heart it either took something out or put something in my feelings towards her. Please don’t think I didn’t love her, for I’m sure you know I did - I think I might describe it a bit by saying, maybe I’m more patient with her and can see her side better. Somehow she looks different - and yet I’m sure I haven’t told you my feelings - I can’t. Does all that sound far-fetched? Yet it’s true. She’s such a dear child.

“There’s much, of course, I don’t understand, but I read it every day. Once or twice she has caught me looking at her. She said, ‘What’s the matter, Mother? What makes you look at me like that?’

“The influence of others is surely true of her. She gets more out of everyone she comes in contact with. She’s as much at ease with old people as she is with children. One of her best friends - and has been ever since we have been living here - is an old man and his wife - Major and Mrs. […] who are now in their seventy’s. He used to be one of the teachers at … U. She visits them for a few minutes most every day.

“You can never know how very grateful I am to you for the reading.”
