This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of May, 1935, in accordance with request made by the father - Mr. [261], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:35 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Long Island, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes; same address; [628]; we have the body here, this we have had before.

2. As we find, there apparently has been some infectious force here - from either the milk or the water - which has upset or AROUSED the activity of the intestinal tract to make for burning of the eyes, of the head, and the general nausea that comes from the intestinal disorder; and disturbance that arises from a temperature caused by the inactivity of the spleen and the liver.

3. We would combine a small quantity of Santonin and Calomel (preferably this should be done under the supervision of a physician) for DESTROYING, as it were, those activities through the intestinal system.

4. It is preferable that for a whole day before these are taken the body be kept on a green vegetable diet only, for this tends to make for a different character of flow in the gastric juices of the intestinal tract; especially through the stomach and intestines. However, the morning meal may consist of the citrus fruit juices; oranges, or grapefruit, or lemon or lime and orange juice mixed, or pineapple juices. But the greater part of the day the body should eat only raw vegetables; though some fruit may be included if so desired.

5. Then the Santonin and Calomel would be taken in small quantities for two days.

6. The body should rest during the greater part of this treatment.

7. Then, afterwards, we would have a full course or round of the Castoria to clear the whole system. Take this in very small quantities often; a quarter teaspoonful every fifteen to twenty minutes or thirty minutes would be the preferable, until it has acted throughout the system.

8. We will find that the rubs will be well also for this body; preferably with a compound prepared in this manner:

9. To 2 ounces of Olive Oil as the base, add:

Witchhazel…1 ounce, Russian White Oil…1 ounce, Sassafras Oil…20 minims.

10. All of these will tend to separate. Shake together before these are massaged into the body. This should preferably be done in the evenings as the body is ready for retirement. Well that the body be cleansed afterwards with the use of rub alcohol.

11. This will make for a great deal of relief, relieving those conditions which have caused the disturbance for the body, [628].

12. Ready for questions.

13. (Q) What should be the diet after the body has been on the one day fruit and vegetable diet? (A) That which has been indicated that is well for the body; in the regular body-building forces and those that make for nerve and blood supply to the system.
