This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of January, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self, through his wife, Mrs. [480], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 3:25 to 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Michigan. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes - we have those conditions that are a part of this body’s experience, [633], in the present.

  2. As we find, as those suggestions that have been made are carried out, and the reactions to the system come about, the body would keep near to the normal conditions for the body.

  3. While a great deal of anxiety is a portion of the entity’s experience, many of those things that arise from the reaction through the nervous system (in the impulses) are sympathetic. Then, there only needs be precautions for these, with the following of those suggestions for the corrections in areas indicated in the lumbar, through the pelvis, through the iliac plexus.

  4. With these pressures removed, and those general eliminations kept, with proper precautions as to colds or congestion, keeping the feet dry - these as we find, with the adherence to suggestions for diet and eliminations - would keep the general orders or regular orders for the body.

  5. Ready for questions.

  6. (Q) What is the cause of the peculiar cough which persists in hanging on? (A) This is more or less from a sympathetic condition; contributed to, of course, by the smoking - though this is not a cause, just a contributory condition; and this made less active would be helpful.

As we find for the sympathetic condition, lemon with white of egg and a little honey would be helpful. Of course, beat the egg very stiff - a few drops of honey, then the juice of a whole lemon stirred into same, see? The dosage would be two to three spoonsful of an evening or early of morning - these are the periods of the greater disturbance.

  1. (Q) Is there any cold or congestion in the system? (A) It’s more acidity from poor eliminations than cold in the present. With those precautions in the general, as we find, these should make for the greater improvements.

  2. (Q) Has excessive spraying of Atomidine solution caused this irritation? (A) It has not. As we find it is as has been indicated, much of a sympathetic condition, from anxiety; and is a nervous reflection.

We would do these things as has been indicated, only using the assistant morning and evening towards allaying the mucous membranes’ irritation; but it is the nerve reaction rather than local condition.

  1. We are through with this reading.
