Time of Reading 3:25 to 3:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Fla. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [639]; this we have had before.
-
As we find there are many changes in the physical reactions of the body since last we had same here. Some are very good, some are not so well.
-
There are in the present those tendencies for the stress and strains that have existed and have been produced along the ganglia in the cerebrospinal system, with the tendency for the accumulations of poisons from toxic forces in the body itself to be distributed. Thus there is a continual reaction much in the manner that causes muscular contraction at times to the lower extremities, at others it’s an upset stomach, again we will find it’s headaches, again it will react in those forces to the nervous system as to prevent nominal rest, then there will be periods when the body reacts almost as if under a sedative or narcotic.
-
These are the characters of reactions by the very nature of those strains that have existed in the system.
-
In the attempts to set up the eliminations as produced by the incoordination from the strain between the upper and lower hepatic circulation, or that congestion in the gall duct area and the lack of the EMPTYING of the gall duct itself (more than the gall bladder), the duct itself then tends to make for an excess of acid, a bloating through the abdominal area at times, and a general nervous nauseating disturbance through the whole of the alimentary canal - lack of proper assimilations.
-
As we find, then, in the present, if there would be those stimulations as would first make for what might be said to be a DRAINING of the liver, gall duct, stirring of the pancreas, the spleen, the eliminations through the alimentary canal, then we may find that the applications as may be made in those natures as to stimulate eliminations and relaxations through the centers that have shown the strain by external injury in the cerebrospinal system, these would be more effective then.
-
In this manner we would do in the present:
-
First we would begin with one Zilatone tablet taken of morning, another in the evening when ready for retirement.
-
The next day we would take TWO Zilatone tablets before the noon meal, and two tablets when ready for retiring in the evening.
-
Then in the morning before arising on the next day, we would take two tablespoonsful of Fleet’s Phospho-Soda in a glass of water as hot as the body may drink. Then lie on the right side, preferably with a pillow or the like HOLDING up the right side as it were, that there may be a complete drainage.
-
When this has moved or thoroughly reacted; that is, let it require at least a whole day or a portion of the next, then begin with small doses - or comparatively small doses - of Fletcher’s Castoria; a teaspoonful every hour. Remain relaxed or lying down during the period that at least eighteen hundred drops (or two small-sized bottles) are taken in this order.
-
During that period that all of these are taken, let the diet be rather of the semi-liquid nature; as citrus fruits, beef juice (but this prepared in the manner as has been indicated with no fat; not beef broth), vegetable juices and the soup or broth of fowl - as chicken or the like. This should be rather the diet through this two or three day period.
-
Then begin with oil rubs along the spine; neuropathically given would be preferable in this portion of the application - from the upper cervicals to the end of the spine, but be sure it extends along the sciatic center or nerves to the lower limbs also. The oils for such rubs would be combined in this manner:
-
To 4 ounces of Russian White Oil as the base, add - in the order named:
Olive Oil…1 ounce, Witchazel…1 ounce, Oil of Wintergreen…1 ounce, Oil of Cedar Wood…1/2 ounce, Oil of Pine Needles…1/2 ounce.
-
These will tend to separate at times. Shake together and pour into an open container, massaging in only what the body will absorb. This should be massaged in a circular motion.
-
Then after the rubs have been given each day for a week, have the corrections made osteopathically along the cerebrospinal system.
-
And as we find when necessary use colonic irrigations. Otherwise let the activities of the system be directed more by the diet.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Any advice regarding condition of the feet? (A) As indicated, let these massages extend along the sciatic nerve to the feet. And as these massages are given we will have a STRENGTHENING to the feet and to the lower limbs, and the inclination to take away this slowed circulation through same.
We would keep the Radio-Active Appliance at times, for these vibrations are beneficial to the body.
- We are through for the present.

R1. 7/25/36 Husband [550]‘s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
First of all I want to thank you for the reading for Mrs. [639]. Mrs. [639] has had quite a severe time of it for over a year. In the first place it was found necessary to remove all of her teeth. This was done a year ago this last May and the reaction was bad. It of course put much more poisons in her system, the gums refused to heal and she suffered much. After six months of treatment by a local doctor it was decided even if the gums were not healed it was necessary to give plates so the impressions were taken and the plates supplied. Naturally we expected these would only be temporary and on account of the gums would be but little service in masticating food, but would prevent the tongue from becoming broader and thicker. The gums are practically healed but there is very little gum over the bone structure and it is not time yet to attempt a more permanent set. She was getting along very nicely, that is she had gained much weight and was looking much better and had more strength. In latter part of March she had a severe fall down seven steps onto a cement pavement and that seemed to effect her nervous system very much. Had several osteopathic treatments to replace several vertebra that were slightly out of alignment. Due to finances we did not employ a maid or cook but with my help did the limited amount of work necessary at home. I found it necessary to give her more medical attention and as our regular doctor was away I took her to a doctor here who has a splendid reputation. Rather unusual for a M.D. in his examination he asked to look at her feet and said she must at once have proper corrective appliances, that when the feet were taken care of he could then go ahead with her case. As I was at the time having new appliances made for myself by a competent specialist in Tampa I took her with me the following day to him. The foot specialist found the appliances he made for her some ten years ago were entirely inadequate, that the muscles of her feet were so weak they were not supporting her, that the pressure on the nerves was causing much of the extreme nervousness and pains in legs and back. He strapped the feet up, we came home and returned in five days when he re-strapped them. We then returned in a week and he took the plaster casts and ordered the appliances, at the same time ordering a new and different shoe. We went up when the appliances and shoes came and they were fitted. We were up twice after that for necessary adjustments of the appliances. Following this her condition was such that I decided to put her to bed for a time and employed a family nurse that would look after her and the house work. This was over two weeks ago. At first all her meals were served in her room and she kept off her feet practically all the time. When it was necessary for her to be up she put on her shoes with the appliances as the specialist did not want her to place any weight on her shoes without them. Her doctor has been administering a limited amount of medicine, one being a preparation with digitalis for her heart action. Another was a tablet containing [word missing?] to assist the functioning of the ductless glands and besides this a granular substance (either citrocarbonate or a similar substance) for acidity.
She is improving but I felt would like to have a reading from you, hence the request. She is still very weak, is up some of the time and for more than a week she has been coming down stairs to the meals. This to give her a little change and in the cool of the evening I have been taking her down the boulevard for a short drive. Both of us are thoroughly confident that your recommendations are just what she should have, however I have been fearful that in her present weakened condition and with the remedies given her by her doctor it might be well to not take the course until she gains more strength and we feel free to discontinue the doctors remedies for a few days to get the effects of that entirely out of her system. I had the rubbing oils compounded and her nurse, who has had considerable experience with massaseing, has given her a good massage for the three days in accordance with your reading. It is soothing to her and afterwards she sleeps for a while. Have also had the Radio Active Appliance which was procured for myself applied to her for the last three days. We felt that I should report to you in detail and to tell you that we were not as yet using those things for cleansing the system. Knowing the disposition of her doctor I knew it would not be advisable to even mention your recommendations to him, for immediately he would dismiss himself from the case and I didn’t want to have this done right at this time. I went to Tampa day before yesterday for some minor adjustments of my appliances and as the foot specialist is liberal minded and in his schooling for a foot specialist did have to take a course including especially the functioning of the stomach, I told him [Dr. Brown, foot specialist] of your readings and our experience from the time years ago of the reading for our relative in Indiana, [Mr. [4970]] of this reading for Mrs. [639]. Unfortunately I did not have it with me that I might recite the recommendations to him, however his reaction was that it might not be well to combine the two treatments, that there might be some residue from some one of the medicines that might not be well to combine the others with, and said that it was his opinion that for the present, as Mrs. [639] was showing improvement, to continue with the doctor until such a time as she would gain more strength. This really was my thought previous to taking the matter up with him. Mrs. [639] was anxious to follow your suggestions and possibly she was correct. She had started by discontinuing all medicines for a day and Thursday morning had everything set to go ahead, had taken one of the xilitone [zilatone] tablets in the morning and her nurse had instructions, I had an inner feeling that she should at this time not continue that I had drove home to get here at a reasonable hour and took the matter up with Mrs. [639]. She reluctantly consented and I am in hopes that I have not done the wrong thing. Had it not been for these other treatments I am sure that the recommendations were just what was needed and possibly would now do more good than anything else, we have just that confidence, but I did not dare in her condition to run the risk of having a local physician, rather I thought I didn’t. Have written you this long letter as I thought it was due you that you know the details…
By the way Mrs. [639]‘s doctor has recommended that she go to a higher elevation, possibly the mountains of N.C. for a few weeks and I am making an effort to do this in September, and of course, I will have to go with her as she realizes I need a change most as much as she does for we have not been out of the State for ten years and it is high time we were having a little change. We will do it some way.
