This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of October, 1939, in accordance with request made by the husband - Mr. [550], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, there are many changes in the general physical forces of this body since last we had same here. Not only is the body suffering from toxic influences, - as poisons in the system making for acute conditions in the muscular forces as well as in the activity of the digestive forces in the system itself, - but a depletion of the strength or vitality, or resistance, is also indicated.

4. The CONSISTENT applications such as received through the neuropathic adjustments, as we find, are well; but we need a little better elimination, as may be had with more of the Diathermy, or the colonic irrigations to purify the colon.

5. When such colonics are given, have the water body- temperature, and a soda-salt solution; that we may not make too great a strain upon an already depleted lymph circulation through portions of these areas.

6. Then in the last waters use an intestinal antiseptic that is of an alkaline reaction, - such as the Glyco-Thymoline.

7. Also we would be mindful of the diet that would make for better strengthening, - as, at least once a day, a strengthening forces from beef juices and liver, liver extract. As much strengthening forces from these as possible will be much more beneficial to the body, if carried out in that way and manner. But these should be taken rather often and just a little at the time, see?

8. We do not need medications so much as to cleanse the system, in such a manner that the ability of its reaction may be for resuscitating forces; and the depletion corrected through the strengthening forces of the extracts as indicated.

9. Do these, and we will bring better forces for this body, [639].

R1. 10/16/39 Husband [550]‘s ltr.:

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

We were very glad indeed to receive the reading, which you gave to us so promptly. I should have acknowledged at an earlier date but have been extremely busy with my business affairs and with the care to Mrs. [639].

The treatment including the food suggested certainly coincided with the treatment being given by Dr. Waldren [Dr. Watson A. Walden, N.D.] (Naturopath) however the suggestion of the salt and soda used in water for irrigations was different and will be used just as soon as Mrs. [639] is strong enough that I may take her to their place for irrigations, and hope that will not be long.

She is very weak and is bothered much with gasses on bowels, has been for several years, getting relief for possibly some months and then having a reoccurrence as now. Doctor is giving injections of extract liver and we are feeding her eight ounces of finely ground liver, raw, each day. She is being fed each hour and besides is taking different vitamin capsules, one called Ventrex put up by Park Davis Co. Getting Vitamin A from extract of Gulf Sharks’ Livers.

I am sure she is slightly improved, and I feel that when she is strong enough for added irrigations she will improve more rapidly, of course her age (67) is against rapid recovery, but we feel with this treatment that when she does recover it will be of a more permanent nature than previously where medicines were used as stimulants.

She has thorough confidence in this doctor and that confidence has been made more firm by your reading.

So glad that all is well with you. Shall let you know later how she is progressing. Shall have another blood test made within the next ten days. Am sure it will show an improvement of red corpuscles, for her color is improving and that must mean a richer blood.

P.S. Of course you know that the doctor was much surprised with the reading as given. We had told him of your work when I asked for the reading, when it came I gave it to him to read and his first question was “How does he know these things”, my reply was that that was the great question that had as yet been unsolved. He is perfectly willing to follow any suggestions.

R2. 2/19/40 Mrs. [639] requested 550-9 for husband, saying: “I am pleased to report to you that I am improving wonderfully under my naturopath physician and according to your rdg. Mr. [550] had intended to write you again before this as to my progress. We appreciated your Xmas Greeting card very much.”
